Mitt Romney is a Shill for the Washington Post

from David Limbaugh at WND:

TRUMP ISN’T THE ENEMY, MR. ROMNEYImage result for Mitt romney washington post

Two days before he was sworn in as Utah’s junior U.S. senator, Mitt Romney published an op-ed in the Washington Post, publicly broadcasting, once again, his disapproval of President Donald Trump. Disappointing, but not surprising.

Something seems to compel those in the never-Trump crowd not only to perpetually obsess over Trump but also to constantly remind us of their profound distaste for him – lest it escape our top-of-mind awareness.

A few things popped out at me when I read Romney’s piece – apart from his flagrant hypocrisy in reigniting his public relations campaign against Trump after abandoning it when seeking to be Trump’s secretary of state. read more

A More Violent World Is Obama’s Fault

by: the Common Constitutionalist

The world has increasingly become a more dangerous place, which is unfortunate being that they haven’t begun construction of colonies on the moon.

Yet the Obama administration and the left insist that his foreign policy has been a success. By any measure, this is simply not true, but truth will never bar the way of bad policy. It’s good, because they say it is, and that’s that.

But now there is actual documented proof that the world is less peaceful today. The UK Telegraph yesterday wrote that, “The theory that human beings are evolving into more placid, cooperative creatures is undermined by research that suggests the world is considerably less peaceful than it was eight years ago.”

“Last year 180,000 people were killed in internal conflicts, a number 3.5 times higher than it was in 2010” and “death from terrorism has risen fivefold – killing more than 32,000 people in 2014,” writes Dr. David Hammond of the Institute for Economics and Peace.

The United Nations estimates that almost 1% of the world’s population is now refugees. That’s 60 million people displaced due to violence and “is the highest it has been since the Second World War…”

The Telegraph posted a table documenting certain “peace indicators.” Using 2008 as the starting point, they show a steady rise in violence and despair in every subsequent year through 2015. Violent demonstrations have risen, obviously refugees have dramatically increased as has the impact of terrorism. read more

IRS Investigation is a Whitewash

Suppose you’re President Obama. Who would be your ideal candidate to head up the Justice Department’s investigation into IRS targeting of conservative groups?

How about someone who gave thousands of dollars to your senate campaign as well as your presidential races?

The confidence that the president and AG Holder have in the press ignoring this IRS “investigation” must be so great that they simply don’t care who knows that it’s set up to be a whitewash. read more

The Obama Defense

by: the Common Constitutionalist

On May 14, Dana Milbank of the Washington Post Stenographer wrote of our poor president. He called him “President Passerby”.

Milbank wrote pleadingly that Obama “needs urgently to become a participant in his presidency.”

Gee Dana, why start now? He’s done such a great job from the sideline or leading from behind.

That’s why polls all say the people hate his policies, but yet still love him. He has achieved something remarkable; a president that bears no responsibility for anything in the eyes of the low information voter. Quite an achievement.

Milbank writes of what he considers a “full frontal assault on the first amendment by his administration.”

It was a revelation that the Justice Department “had gone on a fishing expedition through months of phone records of the Associated Press reporters.”

And yet Milbank is surprised that his president seemed astonished by the news. He claimed: “as astonished as the revelation that the IRS was targeting conservative groups based on their ideology.”

Dana seemed quite bemused that Obama claimed he heard of such things on the news and was concerned: “now that Obama has learned about this extraordinary abuse of power, he’s not doing anything about it.”

Now, is Milbank really surprised by these “revelations” or is he, as is usually the case, colluding to provide cover for his monarch. I choose the latter.

Dana pointed out what Jay Carney had said about comparing Obama to Nixon: “Nixon was a control freak. Obama seems to be the opposite.”

I believe, no, I know that those in the press, and other assorted leftists are rapidly crafting the image of a completely uninterested leader – President Passerby – the drive-by president, if you will. He is Sgt. Barack Schultz: he knows nothing!

And just in case that excuse doesn’t fly with the Beyoncé and Jay-Z crowd, David Axelrod has a backup excuse.

Axelrod posited that the government is so “Vast” Obama couldn’t possibly have his finger on the pulse of every department. He stated: “part of being president is there’s so much beneath you that you can’t know because the government is so vast.”

Off topic alert: would this not be the perfect time for some conservative lawmakers to come forward and demand that we shrink the size of government? Why yes it would!

Anywho, now the leftists believe they have a great defense to insulate the King from the possible wrath of his peasants.

But wait… Now I’m confused. Let’s go back to when the Arab spring was welling up and subsequently spinning out of control. Remember, a White House spokesman named Tommy Vietor and what he said of Obama?

Vietor said the president didn’t need briefings because he is “among the most sophisticated consumers of intelligence on the planet.” If he is so bloody intelligent how could he know nothing? You don’t get to be that intelligent by being ill-informed. So which one is Obama; the smartest, most informed guy on the planet or Jerry Lewis playing President Passerby?

I’d say neither. Barack Obama is Philip Dru – Administrator. He is not the Chief Executive. He appears more like the head of human resources. Obama hires a person to head up a department and then moves on to the next hire. He bears no responsibility for that hire after the fact.

None of the Above

By: The Common Constitutionalist

Remember this from 2008?

Obama told us what he intended. Did we not hear him when he said he was ideologically opposed to coal? If we heard him, did we not believe him? Did we not believe he would actually find a way to shut down the coal industry? If we believed him, did we think we could stop him?

Well, it’s taken a few years but it is evident that he and his EPA are well on their way to fulfilling that 2008 promise. If unchecked, the EPA will successfully shut down many coal plants across this country, and yes, your electricity rates will necessarily skyrocket.

He was also quite clear about his intentions for “clean energy” generation. How has that worked out? Was no one listening to his words, knowing one at all?

Obama has stated on many occasions, he is in favor of the “all of the above” energy policy. This obviously is a crock. It is clear, at least to me, that he and his entire administration are anti-hydrocarbon.

The Washington Post reports that “the new proposed EPA rules will require any new power plant to emit no more than 1000 pounds of carbon dioxide per megawatt of electricity produced. The average US natural gas plant which emits 800 to 850 pounds of CO2 per megawatt, meets the current standard; coal plants however emit an average of 1768 pounds of carbon dioxide per megawatt.”

So, you say, at least we have the natural gas option. We’ve all heard there is more than enough natural gas in this country to power us for decades, if not centuries to come. Unfortunately the EPA has also begun blocking the use of hydraulic fracturing or fracking to get to the natural gas. And how long will it be before the EPA adjusts its standards to disallow natural gas plants?

So we have an administration that has begun to shut down the coal plants, won’t allow new ones to be built, won’t allow drilling for oil anywhere, and will not allow fracturing for production of natural gas. And please don’t buy the line of bull Obama is trying to sell, that domestic oil production is up. He is right that production is up from recent levels, but not due to any of his or his administration’s efforts. The oil production that has increased has all been on private land and has nothing to do with him. At present he has no authority to halt that drilling but his EPA has begun trying to slow the production of oil on these private lands. Congratulations!

I guess we all should stock up on walking shoes and candles.

But hey, at least we’ll have a clean planet, because as we all know, the science of global warming is settled. It’s been proven, apparently, that man-caused CO2 emissions are causing global warming.

Wouldn’t it be weird, if some team of scientists discovered that man-made CO2 emissions don’t cause global warming?

Stay tuned.
