Zimmerman Verdict Causes Idiots to Tweet

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Have you ever said something and as the words are exiting your mouth you’re already questioning your own sanity? As you speak, some other portion of your brain is repeating: “How stupid are you? Did you just say what I think you said?”

Well, that’s what Twitter is. It is the perfect platform for the stupid. I didn’t say the idea of Twitter is moronic but it does allow morons to instantaneously express their less than reasoned declarations.

We’ve heard the saying, or at least something similar: “The best truth serum is alcohol.” Unlike drugs, alcohol only enhances or reveals one’s true thoughts and feelings. Twitter, to the weak minded, is like alcohol.

The completely right and just Zimmerman verdict is a perfect example of this.

First, I applaud the jury for their verdict. For one who had the integrity and honesty to look at the facts presented there was only one logical conclusion. Let’s pray the members of the jury don’t become targets. They did as they were charged to do.

Now let’s look at the verdict through the eyes of the stupid, the racist and hustlers of the Twitter parade.

You have the typical celebrity set, so ill-informed, so hungry for constant attention that they must inject themselves into every fashionable headline.

Miley Cyrus tweeted: “I feel sick #Riptrayvonmartin”

There is that pillar of intellect Nicki Manaj: “May God console the Martins at this time; as well as every other family that’s gone through this type of injustice.”

Box office Megastar Tom Arnold: “Dear son, I love you and there is no shame in running away from creepy ass crackers. #nojustice”

Need I remind you that during the trial we learned that “creepy ass crackers” is not derogatory.

Did I forget anyone? Oh right, Kim Kardashian. A story like this would not be complete without a Tweet from her, although hers was actually the more reasoned: “My heart goes out to Trayvon Martin’s family and loved ones. Thoughts and prayers being sent their way #nojustice.” Reasoned until you get to “#nojustice”.

There’s sports/entertainment crossover Michael Strahan: “In shock over this….Wow! Just wow!” Which segwayed into racist athletes such as Roddy White (receiver, Atlanta Falcons): *#@%ing Zimmerman got away with murder today well what kind of world do we live in. All them jurors should go home tonight and kill themselves for letting a grown man get away with killing a kid.” Genius!

And finally back to the political panderers and bombthrowers such as Michael Moore: “Had a gun toting Trayvon Martin stalked an unarmed George Zimmerman, and then shot him to death… DO I EVEN NEED TO COMPLETE THIS SENTENCE?” No you fat slob; I guess you don’t.

Attorney Sonny Hostin tweeted: “As a lawyer, I believe in the system and accept the jury’s verdict. I do think justice failed Trayvon Martin. Justice took the day off.” Sounds like she’s really accepting. How did she pass the bar? They must be setting it lower.

And of course we have the heavy handed federal government that must wield the sword of righteousness with every perceived injustice.

Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) re-tweeted a message from NAACP president Ben Jealous, calling for the DOJ to pursue federal charges against Zimmerman. He re-tweeted: “@BenJealous: We can move from anger to action. As the DOJ to pursue federal civil rights charges.”

And New York rep Jerrold Nadler called the death a “senseless tragedy” and said he supported the Justice Department’s decision to investigate the shooting. He tweeted: “Trayvon Martin’s death was a senseless tragedy & I’m deeply saddened tonight. Pleased that DOJ is continuing to evaluate evidence.”

Evidence? I thought the evidence was presented at the trial?

And there you have the sad state of America. The law was followed, a trial by jury acquitted an innocent man and as always liberals can’t and won’t accept the outcome.

Sadly this is not over.

Zimmerman Update

by: the Common Constitutionalist

It’s time for the obligatory George Zimmerman update. After all, it’s got the liberal media all a twitter (pardon the pun).

Zimmerman’s attorney Mark O’Mara argued that the prosecution had failed to adequately rebut Zimmerman self-defense claim and that it is fallen far short of proving second-degree murder. O’Mara’s claim that Zimmerman’s references to “&#*@ing punks” and “these assholes” who “always get away” during his call to police are not enough to establish second-degree murder.

Now I ask you, what normal human hasn’t said or at least thought what Zimmerman said out loud, maybe not in quite so colorful terms? The reality is, if you look like a punk or a gangsta, wearing a hoodie over your head or pants down to your knees, or both, you’ll be perceived by others to be one.

O’Mara continued saying that even if Zimmerman overreacted in the heat of a fight and use deadly force when it was not justified, that would amount to manslaughter, not second-degree murder.

Justification is yet to be determined, but altercations like this require split-second decision-making. It’s one thing if the hostile party is 20 yards away. It’s quite another when he is within feet or on top of you as Martin clearly was. Go back and look at the injuries sustained by both, minus the gunshot of course.

Adrenaline, fear and emotion kick in and without proper training that’s all that drives you. That’s why this whole “stand your ground” rule is such utter folly. In my opinion every member of that jury as well as the prosecution should be required to take part in CQB/CQC (close quarters combat) and an attack scenario to see for themselves how quickly things happen and the decisions that must be made in those few seconds, before they rush to judgment like so many Monday morning quarterbacks.

But what about those wails of torment? Both Martin’s mother and his older brother testified that they recognized the screams in the background of a 911 call as being Trayvon’s. Well, let’s go back to the injuries again. Martin, according to medical examiner Shiping Bao had but a small scrape on his left hand and nothing else, other than the gunshot. Bao claimed it may very well have happened prior to the incident. That certainly isn’t consistent with someone who was taking a beating. No face bruising, cuts or scrapes to the head. Can’t say the same of Zimmerman. He sure looked like he took a beating.

Assistant state attorney Richard Mantei described Zimmerman as “either the luckiest, most levelheaded marksmen in the world or something else was going on.”

Marksmen? Martin was shot at point-blank range. Zimmerman would have to try to miss him.

Zimmerman may be a total dirt bag or some S.W.A.T. wannabe. I don’t know and neither does anyone else. I do believe he is innocent in this incident and did shoot Martin in self-defense. That, to me seems fairly clear.

The fact is if Martin were white, no charges would’ve been levied against Zimmerman. But thanks to the race pimps, the state was cowed into pressing charges.

I also think that courtroom cameras have as much to do with this case as the flimsy evidence presented by the prosecution. If not for TV this case would’ve gone the way of the dodo.

But you never know. Zimmerman could as easily be found guilty, as OJ was found not guilty.

Remember, those jurors have to leave that courtroom eventually. If they acquit, they themselves will become targets for the race pimps and rioters and you know that thought has crossed their minds.

Zimmerman Passed Lie Detector, Twice

A newly-released investigative report has found that George Zimmerman passed two lie detector tests given to him on the night Trayvon Martin was shot dead, backing up his version of the events.

An hour-long interrogation video released this week captured Zimmerman as he described the events leading up to the moment when Trayvon Martin was shot with a single bullet to the chest.

As he spoke, his voice levels were being measured with a Computer Voice Stress Analyzer (CVSA), and was found to be telling the truth.

However, the results of such tests are usually not admissible in court.

Sanford detective Chris Serino said Zimmerman verbally confronted the unarmed 17-year-old before the physical brawl that ended when Zimmerman shot and killed Martin.

Zimmerman claimed he was acting in self-defence when he shot the teen, who was returning to his father’s girlfriend’s house from a 7-Eleven store.

The two got into a fistfight and the 28-year-old Zimmerman maintains that Martin attacked him and was beating him up before he fatally shot him.

He has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder.

Serino wrote in his report that Zimmerman and witnesses said the defendant who was in his car avoided Martin when he first saw him because, as he told investigators, ‘was afraid of Martin.’

Serino also said that later in the encounter, Zimmerman got out of his SUV and followed Martin.

“His actions are inconsistent of those of a person who has stated he was in fear of another subject”, Serino wrote.

Based on his investigation, Serino recommended a charge of manslaughter to the state attorney.

Today, it emerged that Serino, the lead detective in the case, has been reassigned to the patrol division at his request.

A Sanford Police Department statement said Serino made the reassignment decision ‘of his own volition.’ He will begin his new assignment in July. He did not have a listed number.

In video released last week by his attorney, Zimmerman told investigators his side of the story about the shooting.

He told them he grabbed his gun from a holster on his waist before Martin could get it, and shot the teenager once in the chest.

After firing, Zimmerman said he thought he missed, because Martin didn’t immediately fall over.

Zimmerman said Martin had been on top of him, slamming his head against the ground and smothering his mouth and nose with his hand and arm.

The tape shows two butterfly bandages on the back of Zimmerman’s head and another on his nose. There are red marks on the front of his head.

“It felt like my head was going to explode”, he says in the video.

Zimmerman claims he shot the teen in self-defense, under Florida’s ‘stand your ground’ law.

Martin’s parents have said Zimmerman was the aggressor. They said Martin was walking back from a convenience store through the gated community in Sanford when Zimmerman spotted the black teenager and started following him. They claim their son was racially profiled.

He remains in jail awaiting a second bond hearing scheduled for Friday.

Maybe Justice will be Done

Transcript from Rush Limbaugh’s Radio program:

Trayvon Martin had drugs in his system. This is turning out to be the Duke lacrosse case all over again. Trayvon Martin, 17-year-old who was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, had the drug THC in his system the night of his death. That’s the primary ingredient in marijuana. The revelation came as prosecutors in the case prepared to release to the public hundreds of pages of new evidence along with videos and crime scene photos. None of this information was in the charging affidavit, none of it. The charging affidavit contained only the fact that Zimmerman went out there and profiled Trayvon Martin.

Even now, even now NBC News — and we can never forget what they did — NBC News doctored the 911 tape of Zimmerman’s call to the cops to make it look like Zimmerman was profiling and was a racist and was only chasing Trayvon Martin because he was a black guy. They totally doctored that tape. The person that doctored it supposedly has been fired. Two other people at NBC were fired shortly afterwards. We don’t know who the original editor was that was canned. They haven’t identified by name, but they’ve told us the person has been fired. The tape was doctored on two separate occasions, and even after all of that, what I said earlier about you can’t humiliate the media, NBC News had a story this week in which they referred to George Zimmerman as a white man with Hispanic heritage.

After all of the so-called embarrassment and humiliation that they should have felt and suffered over the journalistically criminal doctoring of the 911 tape, they didn’t just leave something out of it. They put it in a different order. They made it sound like Zimmerman said something that he didn’t say. He only identified Trayvon Martin as black after he was asked to by the dispatcher. He did not volunteer the information. The NBC edited version of the tape makes it look like that’s the first thing that Zimmerman told him when he made the 911 call. The New York Times was the first to run the story that Zimmerman was a white Hispanic. It was the fifth time in the history of the New York Times anybody could find where they had done that.

But NBC this week referred to Zimmerman as a white man with Hispanic heritage. Even after all of this new evidence is coming out that Zimmerman was literally beat up, that Trayvon Martin had bruises on his knuckles, eyewitnesses now and a cop documenting Zimmerman’s story almost step by step. This case is falling apart. Now Trayvon Martin, THC was found in his blood and urine. This is another thing. The autopsy showed that Zimmerman shot Martin from a distance of between one inch and 18 inches away, which bolsters Zimmerman’s claim that he shot Martin during a struggle. Everybody else, the media, tried to make it look like Trayvon Martin was shot in cold blood by George Zimmerman, who was chasing after him and shot him from a distance without any provocation. And none of that was true. None of the way the story was originally reported, very little of it, was true. Just like the Duke lacrosse case.

So now, in the New York Daily News today is a column by Alan Dershowitz of Harvard Law. The headline says it all: “Drop George Zimmerman’s Murder Charge.” According to this column by Dershowitz, this new evidence is proof positive — well, not proof positive, but highly likely here that George Zimmerman did indeed, as he said, acted in self-defense.

“A medical report by George Zimmerman’s doctor has disclosed that Zimmerman had a fractured nose, two black eyes, two lacerations on the back of his head and a back injury on the day after the fatal shooting. If this evidence turns out to be valid, the prosecutor will have no choice but to drop the second-degree murder charge against Zimmerman — if she wants to act ethically, lawfully and professionally. There is, of course, no assurance that the special prosecutor handling the case, State Attorney Angela Corey, will do the right thing. Because until now, her actions have been anything but ethical, lawful and professional.”

That’s Dershowitz, Harvard Law, a liberal, writing about a state attorney up in Jacksonville. I fully expect the Jacksonville affiliate, WOKV, to call the state attorney now, ask them what they think of what Limbaugh said about what Dershowitz said.

NBC News, by the way, also claimed in their story after the autopsy was revealed, the detailed autopsy report, NBC claimed that Trayvon Martin was shot at intermediate range, not close range. I don’t know the official term is close range, but the distance was between one and 18 inches. I don’t know what the legal term for that distance is and I don’t know what the distance for intermediate range is, but NBC is attempting to imply that Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin from quite a ways away. Honestly, I don’t know what’s happened to this network. It’s not just MSNBC that’s gone over the cliff. The parent network, NBC, has as well. There’s no pretense anymore.

Even after the 911 tapes were doctored, even after they fired three people involved in that, supposedly, they still describe Zimmerman as a white man with Hispanic heritage, in order to carry the racist template forward, that this was a crime that occurred only because a white guy saw a black guy wearing a hoodie in his neighborhood and doesn’t like black guys in his neighborhood so, pow. That’s what NBC wants its readers and viewers to believe happened, when it didn’t. They know it didn’t. Yet it doesn’t matter.

Zimmerman, the Lead Up

Business Insider put together some chronological bullet points of George Zimmerman’s history:

  • Zimmerman grew up in a mixed-race household
  • He was an altar boy at his Caltholic church from age 7-17
  • He is bilingual
  • After he finished high school, he studied for and got an insurance license
  • In 2004, Zimmerman and a black friend opened an Allstate insurance office (which soon failed)
  • Zimmerman’s 2005 arrest for “resisting arrest, violence, and battery of an officer” occurred after he shoved an under-cover alcohol control agent at a bar when the agent was trying to arrest an underage friend of his
  • Zimmerman married his wife, Shellie, in 2007. They rented a house in Twin Lakes. Twin Lakes is about 50% white, 20% Hispanic, and 20% black.
  • In 2009, Zimmerman enrolled in Seminole State College
  • In the fall of 2009, a pit bull broke free twice and once cornered Shellie in the Zimmermans’ yard. George Zimmerman asked a police officer whether he should buy pepper spray. The cop told him pepper spray wasn’t fast enough and recommended that he get a gun.
  • By the summer of 2011, Twin Lakes “was experiencing a rash of burglaries and break-ins.” In several of the cases, witnesses said the robbers were young black men
  • In July 2011, a black teenager stole a bicycle off the Zimmermans’ porch
  • In August of 2011, a neighbor of the Zimmermans, Olivia Bertalan, was home during the day when two young black men entered her house. She hid in a room upstairs and called the police. When the police arrived, the two men, who had been trying to take a TV, fled. One of them ran through the Zimmermans’ yard.
  • After the break-in, George Zimmerman stopped by the Bertalans and gave Olivia a card with his name and number on it. He told her to visit his wife Shellie if she felt unsafe.
  • The police recommended that Bertalan get a dog. She moved away instead. Zimmerman got a second dog–a Rottweiler.
  • In September, several concerned residents of the neighborhood, including Zimmerman, asked the neighborhood association to create a neighborhood watch. Zimmerman was asked to run it.
  • In the next month, two more houses in the neighborhood were robbed.
  • A community newsletter reminded residents to report any crimes to the police and then call “George Zimmerman, our captain.”
  • On February 2, 2012, Zimmerman spotted a young black man looking into the windows of a neighbor’s empty house. He called the police and said “I don‘t know what he’s doing. I don’t want to approach him, personally.” The police sent a car, but by the time they arrived, the man was gone.
  • On February 6th, another house was burglarized. Witnesses said two of the robbers were black teenagers. One, who had prior burglary convictions, was soon caught with a laptop stolen from the house.
  • Two weeks later, Zimmerman spotted Travyon Martin and called the police. The last time he had done this, the suspect got away. This time, he disregarded police instructions and followed. A few minutes later, Martin was dead.

Is it possible that Zimmerman is an angry racist? It is. But as Business Insider wonders, “doesn’t it make you feel a bit differently about Zimmerman?”

Yeah, This is Just What We Need

Neo-Nazis pledge to descend on Sanford, Fla., where Trayvon martin was killed, to protect ‘white citizens’

By AND / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS:

The Florida town roiled by the controversial Trayvon Martin shooting soon may get unwelcome visitors — a group of neo-Nazis.

Members of the Detroit-based National Socialist movement have pledged to descend on Sanford to protect “the white citizens in the area” if there are race riots in the aftermath of the killing that has gripped the nation.

“It’s a virtual tinder box right now,” the group’s leader, Jeff Schoep, told the Daily News. “It’s explosive. It’s on the verge of violence. We need to make sure our white citizens aren’t left defenseless.”

Schoep claimed that up to 20 well-armed members are already in position in Sanford.

Sanford police officials said Saturday they have not spotted any neo-Nazis but have coordinated with the feds to be ready in case violence erupts.

Martin, a 17-year-old black high school student, was wearing a hoodie and unarmed when he was shot Feb. 26 by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman.

Zimmerman claimed he fired in self-defense after Martin attacked him. He has not been arrested or charged and has kept out of the public eye since the incident.

Schoep justified his group’s plan by noting that the New Black Panther Party offered a $10,000 bounty on Zimmerman.

“We had to act,” Schoep said. “Why is it all right for a black group to put bounties on people?”

Still, Schoep did not exactly offer a rousing defense of the shooter, saying he looked “half-Hispanic or Cuban or something. He certainly doesn’t look white to me.”

Meanwhile, NBC News fired a producer for editing a recording of Zimmerman’s 911 call the night he shot Martin.

The producer, who was not identified, trimmed the tape in a manner that suggested Zimmerman volunteered that Martin was black.

The Martin Shooting

I would like to discuss the Trayvon Martin shooting. The young kid, I believe he was 17, was shot by this guy George Zimmerman. I guess Zimmerman was supposed to be some sort of neighborhood watch commander.

Evidently this Zimmerman guy was performing his watch duties, when he spotted Martin apparently roaming around his neighborhood. He called 911 and described the situation. Hearing the 911 call it is apparent that he followed this young man, and what happened after that is anyone’s guess. We hear another call to 911 by some woman where, in the background, we hear screaming. We don’t know who was screaming. We don’t know what they’re screaming about. We don’t frankly know anything.

This is indeed a tragic situation. I’m guessing this kid didn’t need to die. I’m also guessing, this guy didn’t need to shoot him if that’s what happened. The reason I say I’m guessing is, we don’t know what happened. I don’t know what happened; you don’t know what happened; the media doesn’t know what happened; the president doesn’t know what happened. The only two people that know what happened are Martin, who is now dead and Zimmerman.

I don’t mean to make light of the situation. As I stated it’s a shame this kid was killed. Things like this happen in America all the time. People get shot needlessly and people get killed needlessly.

So why is this case garnering so much attention? Do I really need to answer that question? Does anyone really not know what the answer to that question is?

As Rush Limbaugh says, for those of you in Rio Linda, it is of course a race issue. It is because this 17-year-old kid was black. Pure and simple, that is the only reason this case is receiving national attention.

Let’s be real here. If this was a white kid shot by a black, do we really think that this would be getting press that it is? Of course not.

I would like to say that this was simply some dope that took upon himself to be the judge jury and executioner for this child, but I don’t even know that. As I stated no one knows that.

Now we have Eric Holder and the federal Justice Department involving themselves in this case. The federal civil rights division and The Governor of the State of Florida have convened its own investigation of this case. Then of course, we have race pimps like Al Sharpton and Calypso Louis Farrakhan. I’m not quite sure what’s holding up the wrong Rev. Jesse Jackson. Maybe his flight was delayed. I would fully expect him to show up at some point. These blights on society show up whenever a black man get’s a hangnail.

Even the President of the United States felt compelled to comment on the situation. He said that everyone should be involved in this case at the federal, state and local level. Why? Why does everyone need to be involved in this case? This case should be local jurisdiction only.

The president then goes on to lecture us about how we all need to do some soul-searching over this case. Why do we know all need to do soul-searching? What did I do wrong that requires me to do soul-searching regarding this case? What the heck did I or anyone else reading this article, have to do with this case? What is the president trying to imply here? Could it be, that we are all racists at heart? Is that what it is?

My advice to everyone reading this is to step back up. Let the justice system and the court system work. Pay no attention to the armchair jurists on the cable TV shows and the radio. They don’t know anymore than you. Pay no attention to the politician that tries to inject him or herself into the situation for their own self-aggrandizement. Follow this case if you have interest, but just remember, before you decide to pass judgment, think of what you know and what you don’t.

So far we know absolutely nothing about this case.
