It was a stormy Monday. I remember it well, as this particular Monday was different from all other Mondays. And I do remember it well for its momentousness and that it was just day before yesterday. Can you recall where you were when you heard the news that Sandra Lindsay, an ICU nurse at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, New York City, was the first American to receive the COVID vaccine?
I was in my office, some 250 miles away, but would swear that I heard trumpets sound as they hailed the end of the COVID scourge. Maybe it wasn’t trumpets. Maybe it was the feckless dronings of America’s worst Governor, Andrew Cuomo, as he tried to horn in on the action, congratulating those involved as if they were Neil Armstrong after his first Moon walk. read more

The left has always said the same thing regarding virtually all traditional religions – that they are devoid of science, logic and critical thought – that religion is just a man-made concoction to control the weak-minded.
But really, there is nothing more religious than leftism.
Like tradition religions, leftism has its own denominations and sects.
One may concentrate on Climate Change, another on race, yet another on gender, feminism, etc.
Although each denomination has its own unique sacrament, like windmills and solar panels, there does appear to be a one that is predominant among all leftism. read more
from Brent Smith for World Net Daily:
When will it end? When will the planet-killing pandemic dubbed COVID-19 ever end? If the Democrats have anything to say about – not for a while. Not until they’ve wrung every ounce of control over you and me they possibly can, while strategically setting compulsory precedents for the next concocted or at least overblown emergency.
Movie metaphor time.
I like the DC Comic’s movie “Aquaman.” It’s a silly action/fantasy film that’s fun to watch without having to turn your brain on.
In the movie, Aquaman, as a teenager, is learning how to fight. He’s being taught by his mentor, who has put him through a series of tests. For years the kid has asked his mentor when he can finally go see his mother. And each time, the mentor answers, “when you’re ready.” read more

Fans or no, the NFL was on full display this past Sunday. What was also on display was the sheer duplicity when it came to mask wearing.
There was no greater display of just how ridiculous the wearing of masks is than what I witnessed on the sidelines of various football games. It was a complete joke.
And that display is further proof that the mask is the face of a political pandemic. Now governments, from local to federal, know just how far they can push their limit of control before there’s push back.
And this limit is now the new control baseline. With every emergency or disaster that follows, what we are experiencing now, this current loss of freedom and liberty, will become the government’s new starting point from which to push it further. read more

Wisconsin state employees required to wear masks even when they’re home in virtual meetings
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has taken face mask requirements to a new level, mandating that employees wear the masks even if they’re at home on virtual meetings, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
This department rule is not backed up by any public health guidance, department officials openly admit that the purpose is to virtue signal that masks are important and the department takes them seriously. From the Journal Sentinel:
Natural Resources Secretary Preston Cole reminded employees in a July 31 email that Gov. Tony Evers’ mask order was going into effect the next day. That means every DNR employee must wear a mask while in a DNR facility, noted Cole, an appointee of the Democratic governor.
“Also, wear your mask, even if you are home, to participate in a virtual meeting that involves being seen — such as on Zoom or another video-conferencing platform — by non-DNR staff,” Cole told his employees. “Set the safety example which shows you as a DNR public service employee care about the safety and health of others.”

Sweden has been held up by freedom lovers in America as the poster child for a common sense approach to the Covid-19 panicdemic.
And son of gun – we were right – and they are right.
The nation of Sweden didn’t run away and hide from the coronavirus. They didn’t lock down – they didn’t force small businesses into permanent closure, or all don masks like a bunch of scared lemmings.
They knew that putting off the inevitable will do nothing but kick the can down the road. And now, according to their country’s experts, they’ve reached herd immunity.
By using common sense instead of scare tactics, their people and their economy are in a far better place than if they had listened to the scaremongers. read more
