from the American Spectator:
Nobody ever really bought into Pete Buttigieg, did they? He wasn’t exactly a plausible presidential candidate, and the first question anybody ought to ask themselves before running for something like president of the United States of America is, “Am I plausible?”
Buttigieg was like the little ant who thought he could move the rubber tree plant in the Frank Sinatra song. But unlike the ant or Sinatra’s ram, who head-butts a hydroelectric dam until it collapses, high hopes don’t often translate into results in American politics — particularly when those hopes run counter to obvious reality. Let’s talk about that as the first item in this week’s edition of Five Quick Things.

Identity Politics Gone Wild! So what if reading, writing and arithmetic suffer. As long as our children know some figure from history was gay or dressed up like a woman. After all – what’s more important?

American History: LGBTQ Edition
A new Illinois law requires schools to teach LGBTQ contributions to children.
A new Illinois law requires Illinois schools to teach kids of all ages about the contributions of the LGBTQ community, the Chicago Tribune reported last month. Illinois Gov. J. B. Pritzker signed the Inclusive Curriculum Law August 9; it mandates that public schools teach students as early as possible about contributions lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people have made to U.S. state and national history. The details about why it passed and who passed it demonstrate just how much the LGBTQ lobby is targeting children to focus on a specific ideology, excluding others — with taxpayer dollars.
What the Illinois law mandates
While the bill passed handily in both the Illinois state House and Senate (60-42 and 37-17, respectively), its sponsors left it purposely vague. The Inclusive Curriculum Law simply says the teaching of U.S. and Illinois history in public schools “shall include a study of the roles and contributions of” LGBTQ people without specifying just how this should be done. read more
So yeah – is this guy somehow related to Jussie Smollett? I mean, they do have a few things in common. Both are in show business – sort of. Smollett was an actor, Seth Dunlap, whom you’ll read about shortly, is in radio, so that’s kind of like show business. They’re both about the same age – Smollett is 37 and Dunlap is 35. They’re both homosexual, doubtless liberal idiots, and they’re both lying dirtbags. Other than that there’s no similarity at all.

Openly gay radio host threatens to sue his station over a homophobic tweet. Except police say he sent the tweet himself
This didn’t work out the way he thought it would
A New Orleans radio host is under fire after he reportedly sent a homophobic tweet from the radio station’s official Twitter account to himself.
He later demanded the radio station, WWL-AM, pay him $1.8 million in compensation over the incident.

Sounds ridiculous, but frankly is it anymore absurd than any other leftist “Identity Politics” initiative.

Michigan Approves America’s First ‘Gay Credit Union’
Welcome to America, where sexual orientation now apparently affects your financial status.
On Monday, Michigan became the first state to approve a charter to create a credit union for LGBT customers. It is set to begin early next year.
Superbia Credit Union is set to offer services for the LGBT community that they claim is outside of the norm when it comes to traditional banks. For example, Superbia Services Inc. founder Myles Meyers said they will be offering loans for transgender people who are in the process of transitioning.
“As the world’s only LGBTQ profit-for-purpose provider, Superbia is here to force the needed systemic change in banking, insurance and healthcare and install a new paradigm in funding LGBTQ social equality,” Meyers wrote on LinkedIn.
“I can walk into a bank or credit union and apply for a loan or credit card or savings accounts and frankly, no problem,” he added, “If I walked in to the same institution with my husband, we can come across different responses and welcome. And this is where it all starts to change for the community.”
But it’s still legal to discriminate against LGBT consumers in most U.S. states, and research shows that gay couples face hurdles in banking regardless of geography. Same-sex couples are less likely to be approved for a loan, for example, and when they are, they pay more for the financing.
To equate the importance of a flag representing the gender some people pretend to be with a flag honoring our prisoners of war and those missing in action is a travesty. But to take one down and replace with another is just disgusting and a purposeful dig at all those who hold dear the military and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Rainbow pride flag replaces POW/MIA flag at veterans memorial plaza — and public outcry is ignited
Veteran John “Bill” Williams recalled to WRC-TV that he was in Vietnam just six days before two fellow service members were shot down, declared missing in action, “and they still haven’t found their bodies.”
Image source: WRC-TV video screenshotSuch losses are why the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Plaza in Rockville, Maryland, means so much to Williams.
Image source: WRC-TV video screenshotAnd it’s also why he was upset that the plaza’s POW/MIA flag was replaced with an LGBTQ rainbow flag for pride month, the station said.

“I wasn’t happy about it at all because the park is supposed to be a veterans park,” Williams told WRC. “People died. Now they took it down and put another flag up.”
He added to the station, “If they want to put the other flag underneath, they could put it underneath, but the POW flag should be flying there.”

Be Cool and Ignorant just like Che-Z
Last week Will Witt for Prager University took a mike and camera to the University of California at San Diego, where he found himself at the Che Café.
Yes, the Che Café is a woke coffee shop, vegan restaurant and hang-out for the cool, hip and proletariat. Trump supporters are NOT welcome. Shocking!
And it’s full of students who are completely clueless about the deeds and beliefs of the Café’s namesake, one Che Guevara. Not a single student Will interviewed had any idea of what an unrepentant monster Che was.
So, before the video, let me just highlight some of Che Guevara’s brightest moments.
To see supposedly enlightened college students, especially black college students, walking around with Che’s face emblazoned on a t-shirt, is the height of stupidity. read more

I know it’s wrong to, but I am loving this. And I would love to have been a fly on the wall when the tortured decision was made by the ultra-progressives in the U.K. to end a program they celebrated. What am I referring to? Well, read on to find out – and enjoy as I did.

Feminists Couldn’t Get Trans Ideology Out Of UK Public Schools, But Muslims Did
In the United Kingdom, where the LGBT+ agenda is well entrenched in the school system, there have been protests from the Muslim population against these so-called teachings of tolerance. In Birmingham, a program called No Outsiders, organized by Andrew Moffatt, has been on the curriculum to teach students as young as five the ins and outs of same-sex families, inclusivity, and diversity.
Moffatt, who is deputy head teacher at Parkfield Community School, developed the program “to ensure future younger generations learn about acceptance and respect of others.” While that’s a rather non-offensive ethos, what sowed tensions in the community was the introduction of LGBT+ content in the program. read more
by Brent Smith for World Net Daily:
There’s a real problem arising in our nation’s public schools. They’re becoming more and more radical. That comes as big surprise, I know.
The public school system has virtually unfettered access to our children, starting at age 5. And many public school districts offer preschool and pre-kindergarten programs for ages 3 and 4, respectively.
And with this access comes a lot of responsibility on their part, and a lot of trust on the part of parents.
For decades, this didn’t seem to a problem. However, recent history has shown a change in public school education. It’s no longer just education, but inculcation – indoctrination of leftist ideology and a rejection of traditional American values. read more
