Walter Williams Speaks of the Sloppy Language of the Left

by Walter E. Williams:

Language and Thought

Seventeenth-century poet and intellect John Milton predicted, “When language in common use in any country becomes irregular and depraved, it is followed by their ruin and degradation.” Gore Vidal, his 20th-century intellectual successor, elaborated saying: “As societies grow decadent, the language grows decadent, too. Words are used to disguise, not to illuminate.” Sloppy language permits people to get away with speaking and doing all manner of destructive nonsense without being challenged. read more

White Men must become Full Diversity Partners

‘Deeply Disturbing’: Sen. Hawley Reacts To Documents Detailing ‘White Men’s Caucus’ Race Training In US Nuclear Facility

Republican Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley wrote a letter on Thursday to U.S. Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette demanding an explanation for racially segregated diversity and inclusion training at a federally-funded U.S. nuclear facility.

Leaked documents reported by City Journal contributing editor Christopher Rufo this week revealed a three-day mandatory training in 2019 for white male executives at Sandia National Laboratories, a government contractor that assesses U.S. nuclear weapons. read more

All White College Students Are Racist

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I listen to Jay Severin at the Blaze Radio Network from time to time, although not as often as I used to. Back in the old (or at least older) days, Jay had his own show broadcast here in New England.

One of the catch phrases he used, when a college kid called into his program was, “best time of your life kid.” He still uses the phrase and for him, being an “older gentleman,” I’m sure that was true.

However, I don’t think he can necessarily say that and it be categorically so any longer, especially if you are white.

Many colleges today are discriminating against white students  and doing it outwardly and without shame – none more than Pomona College in Claremont, California.

Posters have been seen plastered all over the dorms entitled, “How to Be a (better) White Ally.” Reading the poster, I think it could have been crafted by the New Black Panther Party or Black Lives Matter. It is that offensive.

The poster should actually just read: “Whitey Go Home,” or “We Don’t Want Your Kind at This School.” And that’s not far from the truth, as “Pomona College had several events last year that white students were not allowed to attend.” read more

Building the University of Diversity

by: the Common Constitutionalist

College may soon become like high school. All you have to do is show up and you’re accepted. How so, you may ask?

It seems many colleges and universities have begun dropping the SAT/ACT requirement for admission. And not just at no-name schools, like Muddy Water State (not a real school). No – major colleges like Columbia and George Washington University have joined over 850 colleges and universities who have curtailed the importance of or outright dropped these standardized tests.

These schools are instead taking a more “holistic” approach when screening students for admission. “When Columbia University took the plunge earlier this summer, dropping the SAT subject tests and SAT and ACT writing portions as application requirements starting next year, it became the first member of the Ivy League to do both.”

George Washington University has dropped testing for most freshman. This is great news for those in high school, no longer having to stress out over there SAT score, or pay again to take it over in an attempt to improve their scores.

But why abandon the time honored standardized test – why after all these years switch to the “holistic” approach? read more

Is It Time for the Country To Voluntarily Segregate?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

What am I trying to do – purposely ignite a powder keg or something? Am I actually proposing bringing back segregation? No – I’m not, but some are. By their speeches and actions – some are.

First, let’s look at the state of our nation. In every major city there are places like little Italy, Chinatown, Koreatown, Little Havana, etc. – entire sprawling neighborhoods representing a certain other-than-American nationality. Then there are “unnamed” segregated neighborhoods predominantly comprised of whites, Latinos, blacks, etc.

But this is America and last I checked, one can reside anywhere one chooses, assuming one can afford it. Yet people for the most part choose to live and associate with others of similar interest, heritage, etc. It’s human nature. If you exclusively play football, you will more than likely not hang out with those who exclusively play chess. There is nothing wrong with it. Again – it’s human nature.

But what if the Chess Community begins to resent the Football Community? What if at some point the Chess team begins an interminably long losing streak? They lose every match – even to the clubs they should beat. Over time, they can’t remember their last win.

Logically some introspection would be in order. The coaching staff, assuming they have such a thing, must examine themselves and their methods. The players must do the same. Obviously something is wrong with the internals of the team. read more

The New 10 Commandments

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I always thought of Lehigh University as a fairly elite school. Both friends and relatives of mine have attended. It’s not an Ivy League university, but it’s right up there.

So I was a bit surprised when I heard that Lehigh hosted a “hip-hop symposium.” Can anyone explain what a “hip-hop symposium” is – because I can’t.

Since hip-hop is supposed to be a musical genre (I fail to see it), one would assume the symposium would have a musical theme. Well, if one assumed that, one would be wrong. It was actually, as one might guess, a string of lectures basically disparaging whites and talking up the new leftist mantra of “white privilege.”

Campus Reform wrote of one visiting professor, Christopher Driscoll, who was so moved by “a lecture on the white appropriation of rap,” that he crafted his own version of the 10 Commandments. He entitled them the “10 Cracka Commandments for 2015.”

If your first thought of Prof. Driscoll is – what an a**hole, I wouldn’t disagree. If your second thought was – this must be a joke – this must be tongue in cheek – you’d be wrong. He is serious. read more
