Montreal mission creep: The UN’s coming for your AC
It is called mission creep when a government operation tries to go beyond its established mission. In this case the operation is the UN led, Montreal Treaty group of nations. Their mission has always been far out and questionable, namely protecting the stratospheric ozone layer from human interference. Now they want to do their bit in the bogus war on climate change.
Through the 1987 Montreal Protocol, the Greens clamored for the adoption of refrigerant HFC’s, or hydrofluorocarbons, to replace older refrigerant chemicals (CFC’s) that were said to be punching a hole in the ozone layer. Today, HFC’s, the same chemical the Greens were in love with, is now claimed to be causing – you guessed it – global warming.

Nikki Haley to UN: US ‘will not pay more than 25 percent of the peacekeeping budget’
U.S. taxpayers “will not pay more than 25 percent of the [United Nations] peacekeeping budget,” Ambassador Nikki Haley told the U.N. Security Council on Wednesday.
“We pledge to work with member states and the organization to ensure we make this adjustment in a fair and sensible manner that protects U.N. peacekeeping,” Haley said during a meeting on the U.N. peacekeeping mission.

Well, it’s been one heck of an exciting week and one heck of a run-up to Christmas.
Two major and very consequential events occurred, with the signing into law by President Trump of the YUGE Republican tax bill, and of course the tour de force performance by Ambassador Nikki Haley at the United Nations.
Although I was glad to see a tax plan finally ironed out, which should help almost everyone, the no-nonsense approach our Ambassador took with the rabble at the U.N. was a fist-pump moment.
I must say that I don’t recall a time when I was prouder of a United States Ambassador to the U.N. in my life. Even more so than John Bolton or Jeane Kirkpatrick.

128 Countries Call Trump’s Jerusalem Decision ‘Null And Void’ As Nikki Haley Threatens To Cut UN Aid
The United Nations General Assembly on Thursday denounced the Trump administration’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, an move that U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley said would cause Washington to rethink its financial support of the international organization.
In a 128-9 vote, the UNGA passed a resolution, drafted by Egypt, that expresses “deep regret at recent decisions concerning the status of Jerusalem.”
The resolution calls for Jerusalem’s final status to be negotiated between Israel and the Palestinians. It also affirms that any decisions and actions that “purport to have altered, the character, status or demographic composition of the Holy City of Jerusalem” — a thinly veiled reference to President Donald Trump’s recognition — are “null and void.”
Once again, the little Satan, Israel, has drawn the short straw on the world stage.
Hatred for Israel at the United Nations has been common knowledge for decades. Per capita, there may be more Israel-hating anti-Semites roaming the halls of the august Turtle Bay facility than in Iran.

Obama’s lame-duck, post-election wind-down isn’t exactly that. In fact, it’s just the opposite, and I’m not sure what more he can do to undermine the next president or the nation – but I am sure he and his team of miscreants will think of something.
He’s already rolled out new regulations in an attempt to kill off the coal industry for good. He’s forced States to forever fund Abortion, Inc. – also known as Planned Parenthood. He’s placed areas in the Arctic and Atlantic oceans “permanently” off limits to exploration and drilling and commuted over 1,000 sentences of criminals in federal prisons, of which 342 had life sentences. That will work out well for the communities they end up in.
While taking care of one enemy – the America way – Obama has now set his sights on enemy number two…Israel. I suppose he’s mastered multi-tasking.
As most are aware by now, there was a vote to condemn Israel and ban the nation from building settlements in East Jerusalem. The United States, who is supposed to be Israel’s number one ally, abstained. America could have vetoed the resolution, which would have killed it, but instead, Obama instructed U.N. Ambassador and leftist radical, Samantha Powers, wife of ultra-radical leftist Cass Sunstein, to withhold America’s vote. So rather than a 15-0 predictable vote against Israel – it was only 14-0.

Why does the UN hate your house?
After spending two days at the UN’s Habitat III in Ecuador, it is abundantly clear the Greens are not hip on the American dream.
For many gathered here, the notion that it’s a good thing to own a home with a nice front lawn and two car garage is akin to admitting it’s o.k. to smoke cigarettes, drive an SUV, or worse yet … vote for a conservative.
What do they have against the American dream? Well in listening to them it seems to be clear they don’t trust people to be able to make the “right” decisions. They need the UN’s guiding hand to show them the path to eco-topia.
I heard this for myself when attending a briefing today (with what I might say had the somewhat troubling title) called “Metropolitan Governance: Multi-Level Coordination for Comprehensive Territorial and Urban Planning.” One of the leaders of the panel from New York’s New University seemed excited by the idea that he could organize cadres of students to monitor and collect data to turn over to government leaders so they could better manage their subjects.
The chairman of another meeting called “Contextualizing and Inspiring Sustainability in the New Urban Agenda” called for “radical” measures in our cities to change their patterns of behavior in order to fend off climate change.
And yet another conference titled “The Role of Media in Building Better Cities” was all about influencing the power of the fourth estate to spread the message of doom and gloom and move the citizenry to an acceptance of green dogma. CFACT policy analyst Bonner Cohen gives more details in his article on the second day’s events at CFACT.org.
Yes, to those gathered here in Ecuador it’s all about control – whether it’s cramming people into dense urban dwellings, forcing them to use public transportation, or limiting their use of electricity to stop global warming, the leaders of Habitat III want to call the shots.
Of course the record of pursuing a path of heavy-handed government management over human affairs is an abysmal one – whether it’s undertaken in China, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea or the former Soviet Union.. Human liberty and free markets have always provided better results. And while most of those at Habitat III aren’t open to hearing this, the good news is … some are – particularly in the developing world. I look forward to telling you more about that later.
In the meantime, be sure to follow CFACT’s ongoing coverage of the events here in Quitoat CFACT.org.

In this episode I discuss a female Valedictorian from a Texas High School, who appears to be the model American citizen – except she isn’t. She’s an illegal alien, not quietly living in the shadows as we’ve been told by so many on the left. Instead she proudly and unashamedly tweeted she was “undocumented.”
In segment two I discuss the absurd state of California – how an inmate, in prison for life has demanded and has been granted by Federal Judge the right to have the state pay for his gender-reassignment surgery. And the insanity doesn’t stop there.
Segment three concerns the United Nations and its Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, allowing itself to be extorted by Saudi Arabia. The country was to be blacklisted by the U.N. for their role in the conflict in Yemen, but the Saudis threatened to pull their funding and leave the United Nations if Ban didn’t relent and switch his position. I wonder what happened.
In this episode I discuss the expansion of Muslim prayer in the United Nations General Assembly Building and their refusal to use the designated meditation room set aside since 1957 for that express purpose. Some would say the UN is being colonized by Muslims.
In segment two I discuss the ongoing feud between our government and Apple computer over the FBI’s demand that Apple create a back door into the San Bernardino terrorist’s iPhone. The tech world is afraid this will set a precedent to allow abuse of citizens from the government, but one tech eccentric says he and his team will do the job for free.
