Washington Dictators Aren’t Interested in We The People

Establishment Republicans have always been proponents of the fallacy of nation building overseas. This was their vision for Iraq and Afghanistan. This is also why they praised the bogus Arab Spring. They had this warped view that if America just removed the one obstacle to self-governance from the people of these nations, that being a Dictator or Theocrat, the rest would fall in line and take care of itself.

We see how well that worked. Many of us also foretold the disaster.

Well, the Arab Spring sounds quite like the Republican Spring. For years we heard the same old tired song from the GOP. Just remove this one obstacle – give us the House of Representatives so that we may govern on behalf of you, the People It all starts in Congress – Republicans would then control the purse-strings. The rest will fall in line and take care of itself. We did that.

Then they said that we in Congress are trying, but are being blocked by that low-down Harry Reid and the Democrats. Just remove this one obstacle – give us the Senate so that we may govern on behalf of you, the People. They would then control all legislation. The rest will fall in line and take care of itself. We did that.

Then they said that we in Congress are trying. We send bills to the Senate. They pass, but are being vetoed by that low-down President Obama. Just remove this one obstacle – give us the Presidency so that we may govern on behalf of you, the People. There would be no stopping us then. The rest will fall in line and take care of itself. We did that. read more

Can We Keep Our Eyes on the Prize

Update: I neglected to mention another option to avoiding doing the hard things like a full repeal of ObamaCare. A weak-kneed roll-out of ObamaCare-lite. Although there hasn’t been time yet to dissect the new proposal, you can bet it doesn’t resemble anything they have been promising us. I can’t wait to hear the tough-talking sales pitch of the watered down bill.

What has everyone in politics, every cable news outlet, every talk radio program been discussing since Friday? Well, it’s not ObamaCare, cutting taxes, or really any of Trump’s big agenda items. Of course, it’s wiretapping, meetings with Russians and tweeting.

For now four solid days we have been pummeled with wiretapping scandal stories. If it’s not specifically about wiretapping, it’s about Jeff Sessions or others meeting, or not meeting with the Ruskies. Oh, and also the salaciously commented on photo of Kelly Ann Conway perched on the couch in the Oval Office.

That’s four days the administration and those on Capital Hill have not been thinking of or acting on the campaign promises that were made to us – a full repeal of ObamaCare – cutting taxes and confirming the next supreme Court justice, etc., etc.

This one story has sucked all the oxygen out of the room. On Monday, Rush Limbaugh spent virtually his entire show – three full hours harping on the feud between Trump and the democrats and zero time on anything else. I don’t listen to Hannity anymore, but I’ll bet he did the same. read more

The ultra-radical website, the Nation, posted an article  on ways to protest and combat president-elect Trump. Yes, still 2-1/2 months until his inauguration, and left is already devising ways to defeat Trump’s agenda. No one truly knows what his agenda will be yet, but that makes scant difference to the whiners of the left.

However, they admit that, “if we expect to protest Donald Trump into submission, then we’ve grievously misjudged our opponent. Gee – it sounds a lot like they hope Trump will fail.

Imagine if someone from the right said this about Obama. Oh – that’s right – someone did. Recall Rush Limbaugh said of Obama in 2008: “I hope he fails.” And recall the wails of discontent, as if Rush wanted Jesus to fail – although to the left, Obama was their Jesus.

The author, Ravi Mangla explains that the best way to resist Trump is not to, but instead, to distract him. He tells the reader to, “Run wild circles around him in a hall of mirrors. Set fires and leave him to put them out. Each time he thinks he’s cleaned up the mess, make a new one.” Yes, that’s real constructive. Of course, these radicals no nothing of being constructive. Rabble-rousing – setting figurative (and literal) fires is the only thing they know. read more
