An Inspiring Real-Life Lord of the Flies Story

from the Guardian:

The real Lord of the Flies: what happened when six boys were shipwrecked for 15 months

When a group of schoolboys were marooned on an island in 1965, it turned out very differently from William Golding’s bestseller, writes Rutger Bregman.

For centuries western culture has been permeated by the idea that humans are selfish creatures. That cynical image of humanity has been proclaimed in films and novels, history books and scientific research. But in the last 20 years, something extraordinary has happened. Scientists from all over the world have switched to a more hopeful view of mankind. This development is still so young that researchers in different fields often don’t even know about each other. read more

Yellow Journalists Blame Trump for Man’s Death

by: Brent Smith

On Tuesday, the ultra-leftist Guardian website posted an article entitled: “Arizona man dies after attempting to take Trump coronavirus ‘cure’.”

Well that’s a surprise on at least two fronts. First – I wasn’t aware that Trump was president, a doctor and a research scientist. Who knew?

And second, what kind of moron would drink fish tank cleaner – for any reason?

Oh and there is a third point, yet it’s no surprise. It’s the Guardian’s practice of yellow journalism when it comes to reporting on Trump.

If one would read the entire article, you don’t discover the facts, as they are, until paragraph 11 – at least three quarters of the way through the article. The article is only 15 paragraphs long. read more

Podcast – The British Take Their Country Back – A Liberal Websites Honest Reporting on Guns

In this episode I discuss Brexit, the exit of merry old England from that socialist cesspool known as the European Union. Despite the dire predictions from elites the world over and the leftist press, the British people still pulled the lever for sovereignty. From that day forward, anything negative that occurs in England will be blamed on the stupidity of the British people. How dare they wish to govern themselves!

In segment two, I am stunned by a relatively equitable and honest accounting of guns, gun violence and gun owners by a liberal British website. Congratulations to the Guardian for having the courage to actually listen to gun owners and NRA members and report on the interactions fairly. read more

Barack Obama – The Pragmatic Progressive

By: the Common Constitutionalist

Yesterday the Guardian.com posted an article entitled, “The pragmatic progressive: what sets Obama apart from Bernie Sanders.”

They kind of throw Sanders under the bus – not for being too progressive, but for not being “pragmatic,” like our dear president.

First, let me define pragmatic. It is, “of or relating to a practical point of view or practical considerations.”

The article begins by paraphrasing Sanders calling out both Hillary and Obama. “The status quo has been woefully insufficient, he argues, not simply because of Republican obstruction but also thanks to the complicity of the Democratic establishment. That establishment includes Hillary Clinton and the current occupant of the White House.”

Yet one might describe a pragmatic person as someone who accepts compromise – gets what he can “practically” get and lives with the rest. This hardly describes Obama, unless pragmatism suddenly means to get “practically” anything and everything he wanted.

According to the Guardian, this appears to be the reason why the equally progressive Obama has succeeded where Bernie has evidently failed – although Sanders hasn’t really failed, as he brought millions of dimwitted, ignorant of history, communist want-to-be’s out of the shadows. read more
