The Border Wall – A Government Project That Will Actually Pay for Itself

What if I were to offer you a sure-fire investment that would, if implemented properly, guarantee to at least double or triple your money in 3-4 years. The investment is so simple and straightforward – you could be completely hands off. You would not have to do a thing. It would require no monitoring of a fund or stocks – not even a yearly review, such as a mutual fund or IRA.

It would require nothing but an initial investment. Then just sit back and let others do the work. In a few years, reap the reward.

Okay – you may be saying – where do I sign? And by the way – what’s the investment?

Well – the investment is a pipe dream. It’s not real. There is no real investment which is that easy and simultaneously sure fire. Or is there?

Actually, yes there is, and we conservatives have been promoting it for years. It’s called building the Southern Border Wall and deporting the illegals already here. It’s been well established that the cost of illegal immigration to this country is north of $100 billion per year. And that’s just the normal governmental outlays. The $100 billion doesn’t include the cost of fraud being perpetrated on American citizens in the form of stolen identities or increased insurance costs and citizen job losses to illegals. read more

Maybe Now You Will Close the Border Mr. President

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Who’d have figured that the modern day plague (potentially) may be the cure for illegal immigration?

For years conservatives have struggled against the left and the Chamber of Commerce prostitutes, the establishment Republicans, to stop or at least stem the tide of illegals – to close the border.

No matter what the argument for closing the border, there were always politicians and interest groups standing in the way, trying to tell us what a great deal it will be – what a boon to our economy.

Pleas of stopping drug cartels, gangs and terrorists fall on deaf ears. Nothing can stop the flood.

But now we’re faced with an enemy we can’t see – an enemy we can’t arrest, detain or deport.

Despite the government and their dimwitted accomplices in the media, Ebola is for real and it’s already here. It may be isolated – it may not. read more

Ain’t No Stoppin the Amnesty Train

by: the Common Constitutionalist

The King has spoken! There is no stopping it – mass amnesty. The train is powered up, just waiting at the station for the green light from Obama. Nothing can (or should I say will) stop it. Not the states, which will bear the heavy burden of supporting these millions of “dreamers”, the Congress and certainly not the Senate.

No, this train is leaving the station. Now it’s just a question of when. We all know it will be after the midterms, about a month from now, but regardless of the election outcome, Obama will pull the trigger before year-end.

Recent developments, however, have some calling into question the wisdom of the open border/amnesty policy. You may have heard – it’s a minor ailment, a little something that’s been going around – Ebola.

Some actually have the audacity to say that we should be canceling all flights to and from the affected African countries. Our administration and their supporters think this is just a silly overreaction – that disallowing flights to and from America will just isolate those poor countries and hamper relief efforts. read more

Security Double Standard?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

So what if a group of patriotic Americans wanted to gather to protest the growing problem at the southern border? Say the event was to be called “Shut Down All Ports of Entry”. The groups plan would be to peacefully block 17 ports of entry between the United States and Mexico stretching from San Diego to Brownsville Texas. The protesters would just drive to the border and parked their vehicles in front of any entry point to block it. That’s it – just peacefully attempt to stop all traffic entering the U.S. from Mexico.

But to what end? What might this group hope to accomplish?

The group’s goals, according to Indiana-based protest organizer Rob Chupp, include the immediate release of active duty Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, who was arrested in April in Mexico for bringing loaded weapons into the country after apparently making a wrong turn at the San Ysidro port of entry in Southern California. Chupp’s group also wants the U.S. government to “secure our borders and protect the citizens in America from foreign threats”.

Fox 5 San Diego reported that the event organizer Stasyi Barth said, “We need to bring attention to the border.” Barth explained that she is frustrated with Congress’s inability to secure the border and get a handle on the nation’s illegal immigration issue.

Barth added: “We’re going to stay at the bridges until our demands are met. We have a Marine that has been wrongly imprisoned in Mexico and abandoned by the government. We need to bring him back to his mom and dad immediately. Second, we need to seal off the southern border.”

The protest, which appeared to have at least 2000 volunteers, was to occur on Saturday, September 20. Chupp claimed that an unnamed federal law enforcement body had advised the group to avoid certain ports because of potential threats from the terrorist group ISIS.

Wait… What?! A federal agency warns of threats by ISIS and they don’t do anything more than say don’t go there?! read more

ISIS More Trustworthy Than Obama

by: the Common Constitutionalist

So what do we know about the new Islamic Caliphate? Well, to start they are the most unconscionable vicious group we’ve ever seen. Worse than Hezbollah, Hamas and the Taliban. Worse than Al Qaeda, worse than even MS 13 or the Mexican drug cartels.

We know that they have territory within the new Caliphate that is now the size of Belgium, and growing. We also know they have more money than any terrorist gang that preceded them – I daresay, as much or more than some legitimate governments.

We know they’re better armed than some nations and have more fanatical “troops” than any other radical Islamic organization, by a stretch.

We know they acquired uranium (yes uranium) for use to make a dirty bomb and if we don’t think they’ll use it, we are fools.

Now the Obama administration – what do we know about them? That’s easy. We know that from “The One” on down, every decision he/they make his political. Not for the good of the country, but to achieve or maintain the political “upperhand”. read more

Ebola Outbreak – But Don’t Worry – We’re Safe

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I don’t follow this stuff, but I believe the number one television show in America is called “The Last Ship”. I’ve been watching it. It has some intrigue and is fairly entertaining. It has a Navy ship, although only one – thus the name “The Last Ship”, guns, missiles and Ruskies. What else do you need?

It also has disease. Yes, the program is centered around a worldwide pandemic – a virus that has wiped out most of the world’s population.

This U.S. ship travels the seven seas, or will eventually I assume, searching for a cure, a vaccine for the virus, which is so deadly that if contracted, has a 100% mortality rate.

Now, is it life that imitates art or art that imitates life? I think it’s the latter and in our current, real life condition, it most certainly is. What a coincidence that this show is airing at the very same time the world is locked in a battle to contain the deadly African Ebola virus.

It is an odd coincidence, but a coincidence nonetheless. Thankfully, there is no conspiracy attached to this outbreak. read more

Selective Service … What’s the Endgame

by: the Common Constitutionalist

For the past couple of years, certainly since the tragic incident of Obama’s reelection, there have been more than a few conspiracy theories floated to explain his lawless behavior.

He’s a Muslim and is purposely allowing the Brotherhood to infiltrate the government.

Another one is that he wants to purposely overwhelm and collapse the financial system to allow for full central control.

Yet another: he will decree amnesty and citizenship for all illegals, giving Democrats a permanent majority.

He will create such unrest, that the people will rise up in armed revolt, thus allowing him to invoke martial law and suspend the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, passed to prevent U.S. military personnel from acting as law enforcement agents on U.S. soil, for as long as he deems necessary.

Now some of these are implausible, most unlikely and just five or so years ago, I would have thought all to be impossible. But witnessing what this president and his people have already done, it seems the sky’s the limit on conspiracy theories.

It’s the last one I mentioned – the martial law theory – that just keeps coming up. I’ve written about it before, and yes it sounds absurd, but I just can’t seem to shake it.

I know what you’re thinking. This guy really does wear a tinfoil hat. I agree. I sound crazy – believe me – I don’t like it either, but hear me out. read more

Another Conservative Sellout?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I’ve written extensively, as have many others, about the southern border and the illegal alien invasion. It’s one of my “make or break” issues – one issue over which a candidate for any office will immediately lose both my support and my vote.

The lawlessness at the border is indeed unprecedented, and that’s not hyperbole. It is in fact unprecedented. We’ve seen nothing at all like this since our founding.

However, George Will believes it not to be, and this wouldn’t be the first time he has taken the establishment position on immigration. I wrote about it last year. You may review it here.

He told Fox’s Chris Wallace that we should just let them in. “We are to say to these children, ‘Welcome to America, you’re going to go to school and get a job and become Americans’. We have 3141 counties in this country. That would be 20 per county. The idea that we can’t assimilate these eight-year-old criminals with their teddy bears is preposterous.”

Well Mr. Will – whether we “have more than enough space to accommodate the children” or not, is immaterial. I’m sure, Mr. Will, you have more than enough furniture in your home for me to take a chair or two. There are laws governing immigration – or at least there used to be – just as there are laws prohibiting me from taking your furniture.

Your argument sounds a lot like “from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs”. That sounds a bit Karl Marx-ish or Loius Blanc-ish, if you will. read more

An Obama-Caused Border Disaster

from National Review:

It is a grave error to view the swarming of illegal aliens across our southern border as anything other than a challenge to our sovereignty — a challenge abetted, rather than repulsed, by a president who vows to “fundamentally transform the United States of America.” The challenge brings into sharp relief a question I’ve repeatedly pressed (see, e.g., herehere,here, and here): If the states cannot or will not defend themselves, are they still, in any real sense, sovereign?

As expected, the president’s mainstream-media allies portray Obama as a man struggling to manage a crisis beyond his control, a crisis their thin and exhausted playbook instructs them to blame on George W. Bush. Nonsense.

In Faithless Execution, I detail Obama’s immigration lawlessness — at least the very extensive record compiled as of mid-spring 2014, when I had to stop writing in order to make an early June publication date. If you’re keeping track, mid-spring was before the ramping up of the ongoing invasion, which already involves close to 300,000 illegal aliens (less than 20 percent of whom are, according to theNew York Times, “unaccompanied minors”). It was, however, months after what we now know was the Obama “Homeland Security” Department’s solicitation of escort services to help handle an anticipated arrival of 65,000 illegal-alien minors. read more

The Bloomberg View of Immigration

by: the Common Constitutionalist

If it weren’t for the Russia/Crimea/Ukraine kerfuffle and the Malaysian Airline mystery, the immigration issue would surely be one of the top stories.

Actually, I guess it still is, considering I read an opinion piece from the editors of Bloomberg View just last week entitled, “The Only Way to Stop Illegal Immigration“.

The first thing that gave me pause was that they actually wrote “illegal immigration”. I still figured it would be a left-leaning propaganda piece, but I was encouraged by them not using undocumented immigrant or undocumented worker.

It began by describing John Boehner’s inability to rally the House around a Senate immigration bill that was passed overwhelmingly last year. Also, how the House was transfixed on border security, as if that is a bad thing.

I noticed that they never said to attempt to seal the southern border. Only repeatedly mentioning “border security” and how much money the Senate bill already allotted for it, which, according to the article is a “staggering $46 billion for border control, doubling the size of the patrol force”. read more
