WND Exclusive – There’s Only 1 Choice for Supreme Court Justice

The problem a president has with any court nominee is transparency. Until your choice actually begins ruling on cases, you can never be sure he or she was what you imagined them to be. By that time, as we know, it’s too late. As these are lifetime appointments, he and we are stuck with them, many times suffering disastrous consequences of a wrong choice.

Recent history is replete with Republican “wrong” choices, from David Souter to John Paul Stevens, Sandra Day O’Connor and, of course, Mr. swing-vote, Anthony Kennedy.

We cannot afford to replace Anthony Kennedy with another Anthony Kennedy, or worse. read more

Two Faced John McCain

Okay, I’ve always used a caveat when speaking of John McCain. I’m sure you have too. That is, despite how bad he has turned out to be, he was still a war hero. I’m amending that. Glenn Beck said it yesterday on his radio show and I am fully on board. Glenn said there ought to be a statute of limitations on war-hero status. I agree and John McCain is well passed it.

I will no longer state that he was a war hero. I can no longer, in good conscience, consider someone who has done so much damage to our country a war hero. There is example after example of him undermining the Constitution and true conservatives in his own party to warrant such a moniker.

And here is just another:

from: TheBlaze:

UPDATE: On his radio show Thursday, TheBlaze’s Glenn Beck called out McCain for his comments in September in light of his most recent remarks. You can listen to Beck’s commentary in our follow-up story.

For the original news story, read below.

After repeatedly criticizing senators such as Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) over their crusade to defund Obamacare, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) called for the “total repeal” of the Affordable Care Act on Wednesday. It’s a quick turnaround after the longtime senator, in September, proclaimed that it was “not rational” to think Obamacare could be defunded or repealed.

Sen. John McCain Calls for Total Repeal of Obamacare

In this photo provided by CBS News, on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., speaks on CBS’ “Face the Nation” in Washington about the partial federal government shutdown. AP

McCain outlined his “solution” during an interview with Greta Van Susteren, which culminated in an admission that the law should be repealed completely.

“The solution is, first of all, to let people keep their insurance if they want to,” he said. “Or at least reinstate them.” read more

Obamacare Drives Up Other Costs

by: the Common Constitutionalist

The Republicans appear to be all for full repeal of Obamacare. They make speeches and appear on talking head shows bemoaning the new healthcare law, insisting it has to go. Nothing else will suffice but full repeal.

It makes for a great “conservative” soundbite, but that’s all it is. For now, full repeal is a pipe dream.

Knowing that the call for full repeal is simply a soundbite those few true conservatives have had to once again step up to the plate and lead.

Sen. Mike Lee has proposed defunding Obamacare. That sounds simple enough. After all, Congress does control the purse strings.

However, this idea is evidently too radical for our spineless Republican leadership due to their overwhelming fear of the dreaded “government shut down”.

Meanwhile the president and the Democrats continue to insist that Obamacare is a good thing and will actually save us money. I give them props for boldness – boldness in the face of obvious truths.

On ObamacareFacts.com, it clearly states that Obamacare does not increase insurance premiums directly. In a way, they’re right. There is no mandate to raise insurance rates. That is left to the discretion of the individual insurance companies, to either raise rates or grow broke. It’s their choice. The site’s argument is that rate increases will be curbed when the law is fully implemented next year.

Well, the insurance companies know this and know they must raise their rates now while they can in an attempt to stay viable in the future.

This is why we see health insurance rates skyrocketing in states all over the Union. Washington states rates are expected to rise between 34 and 80%, Florida: 30 to 40%. Georgia expects increases of upwards of 198%. Indiana estimates a 72% increase and Ohio, 41%.

The low information twenty-something crowd of Obama supporters is in for a surprise when they discover they will be paying 100% more (on average) than their elderly counterparts. Surprise!

But the Obamacare law is not only affecting our direct healthcare costs. If you haven’t discovered it yet, you soon will.

This past weekend I received my auto insurance renewal. I opened the envelope and saw something I didn’t expect. My auto insurance premium increased by 20%.

I’m pretty plugged in to all this stuff, but I must admit, I didn’t connect the dots.

Figuring it must be a clerical error, I called my insurance carrier. I explained my spotless record to the representative; the fact that I am a year older as is my car, yet my premium was jacked up. He explained the increase was due to a sharp rise in the medical insurance rider and auto repair costs.

That’s when the light went on! Obamacare is also driving up auto insurance rates.

I called the dealership that does work on my car and spoke with the owner. He explained he would either have to lay people off or raise the labor rates for repairs, thanks to… you got it… Obamacare.

So when you start to see increased costs across a full spectrum of goods and services, you can thank Obama, the Democrats and the jerk Republicans who are too stupid and too spineless to defund this ruinous law.

Chu on This

Could this station be the one the Obama family fills up the old war wagon? I rather doubt it, but it is only about a mile from the White House.

That’s bad, but sadly it is not worst in the nation. Although I can’t find a photo, I have confirmed prices in Los Angeles. At some stations the prices start at $5.99 for regular, $6.09 for mid-grade and $6.19 for premium. Holy Crap!

So at what point will the economy just come to a screeching halt? If this keeps up, I’d say very soon.

Here’s an idea. Maybe we can petition Nancy Pelosi to allow us to use our food stamps to purchase gas?

If you have been paying attention you would realize this is exactly what this Administration desired. This is the Green Utopian model playing out. Strangle the oil, gas & coal industries & force people into their sunshine and lollipop alternative energies.

Why else would anyone hire Steven Chu to be the Energy Secretary? He’s a Global Warming advocate & champion of anything and everything “Green”.

Here’s just one example of Chu’s great ideas for saving us all from ourselves!

In 2008, Steven Chu was quite clear what he wanted for this country. As of February, 28, just 2 weeks ago, his view hadn’t changed.

But just Tuesday, at a Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee hearing, Senator Mike Lee (R-Ut.) asked Secretary Chu: “So are you saying you no longer share the view that we need to figure out how to boost gasoline prices in America?” Chu responded: “I no longer share that view.”

Share that view with whom? It was his view. My guess is between his testimony in Feb. and now, he was taken to the woodshed and told he had better shut up about his and the administration’s true intentions.

I’m also sure that he was told that after the election, there will be no restraints and they can go full speed ahead with their plans to forcibly change our behavior.

If Obama wins a second term, the new slogan will be “Yes We Can, Walk to Work”.
