What was it that Ginsburg said?

by: Brent Smith

Let’s play a “did she say it” game. Ready?

Number one:

“There’s nothing in the Constitution that says the president stops being the president in his last year,” Ginsburg said in a 2016 New York Times interview in which she called for Merrick Garland to receive a confirmation vote in the Senate.

She then added as to whether the Senate should take up a vote on Garland, Ginsburg said at the time, “That’s their job.”

And now number two:

“My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed,” Ginsburg told Clara Spera in the days before her death, NPR reported.

“Is this a trick question,” most would say. I mean, it says right there that Ginsburg said them both.” read more

Supreme Identity Politics

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Yet another red flag raised regarding supreme Court justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Is our newest supreme Court justice an independent jurist or is he just another Republican caveman, who the left can bend and shape to their will by just exerting political pressure?

Recall, during his confirmation, justice Kavanaugh declared that should he be confirmed he would hire an all-female crew to clerk for him.

And that he did. For his “effort,” fellow justice and radical leftist, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, better known as Notorious RBG, praised him for it.

“If confirmed, I’ll be the first justice in the history of the Supreme Court to have a group of all-women law clerks. That is who I am,” said Kavanaugh.

“Justice Kavanaugh made history by bringing on board an all-female law clerk crew. Thanks to his selections, the Court has this Term, for the first time ever, more women than men serving as law clerks,” Ginsburg said at the Second Circuit Judicial Conference on Friday.

Well Yay! Identity politics has officially infected everything. read more

The Left is Deeply Disappointed with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

The shine of one of the progressive left’s icons has recently been tarnished. I liked to say that supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg may be mellowing with age, but it seems like she has been aged for decades.

However, she did stun a whole lot of nouveau-leftists in her interview  with Yahoo’s resident shrew, Katie Couric.

Many younger liberals have come to call Ginsberg, Notorious RBG, for her stance on abortion and such, but it appears she may have lost the gangsta moniker when the topic turned to something I’m sure Couric and most leftists would consider “safe.”

Katie brought up the Colin Kaepernick, National Anthem flap that so many, including me, have been talking and writing about for many weeks. I don’t know what Couric was expecting to hear, but I can guarantee it wasn’t this.

Couric asked Ginsberg: “How do you feel about 49ers player Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players who have basically refused to stand for the National Anthem?” read more

Confirming a Ginsburg Clone

by: the Common Constitutionalist:

Recently Harry Enten at FiveThirtyEight.com wrote a piece on Ruth “Buzzy” Ginsberg of the Supreme Court. He began by quoting her from an interview she gave Elle magazine published last week, were Ginsburg said, “If I resign anytime this year, [President Obama] could not successfully appoint anyone I would like to see on the court.… So anybody who thinks if I step down, Obama could appoint someone like me, their misguided.”

Enten disagrees, saying that he believes a Ginsburg clone would in fact be confirmed today. He explains the Ginsburg flew through the “confirmation process in 1993 with 96 votes, including 41 Republicans.”

96 of 100 senators voted for the Ginsburg disaster. Pitiful! My how some things don’t change from decade to decade. The Senate then, just like now, houses mostly conformist establishment big government Republicans, most who feel they just confirm anyone the president nominates, unless it’s a Republican president.

Ginsburg was a former ACLU attorney and last I checked it isn’t nor ever has been a constitutionally conservative organization. Just knowing that, I would have voted against her. Any representative of the ACLU would automatically be disqualified, in my book. But then I’m not a learned Senator. read more

Ruth-Buzzy Ginsberg is a Disgrace

From Glenn Beck: Ginsburg – Don’t look to U.S. for a Constitution

Is it too much for a United States Supreme Court Justice to have a little reverence for the Constitution of the United States? Apparently that’s the case for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who on a visit to the Middle East was asked if Egypt should model the United States Constitution when setting up theirs. Her response was a disturbing ‘no’ — who did she think Egypt should model and what does the Justice think about our Constitution? Prepare to be offended.

The Blaze reports:
The Supreme Court‘s midwinter break is often used by justices to fly off to sunny vacation spots or European capitals where they address an audience or two on someone else’s tab. But this year, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is on a different sort of visit to two North African countries where popular uprisings helped topple longtime leaders. And in one of those countries — Egypt — she raised eyebrows after saying, during a television interview, that she “would not look to the United States Constitution” as a blueprint for crafting the nation’s new constitution.
