Shouldn’t Ryan’s Healthcare Failure be About Us?

Can we get a little perspective on the epic RINOCare fail? By perspective, I mean, exactly who it really harms.

There is a one word answer to the question of who it harms, and it doesn’t start with ‘T’. The word actually begins with ‘U’ – as in Us! Yet watching the weekend cable news broadcasts, there has been nary a word mentioned about the harm Paul Ryan’s phony “repeal and replace” bill has caused us – the Americans who voted for these bums.

We the “silent majority,” who, over the past few election cycles, have decided to not be so silent – to make our wishes known to these politicians. In return for our votes they have made promises.

Beginning in 2010, Republicans began an unbroken string of passing clean repeal bills. They’ve asked for our help to build majorities and WE made it happen. We even elected an “outsider” from the business community to aid in our quest to roll back government and rid us of ObamaCare. And for all our trouble – for all our hard work and heavy lifting, it is WE who have been stabbed in the back by Ryan and the establishment.

However, to historically reliable cables news outlets like Fox, it is like we don’t exist. It seems as if it is now all about politics – not people – not voters and taxpayers. read more

Podcast – Chuck Schumer Goes Off On Republicans Over RINOCare

Today I discuss Senate Minority Leader Chuckie Schumer, who had some choice words for President Trump, Speaker Ryan and the Republicans over their failed plan on Friday.

He complained that the GOP never even approached him regarding fixing ObamaCare. Instead they just froze out the dems and tried to go it alone – and failed. He’s says he’s not happy about it, but we know that’s a laugh. The dems are thrilled.

I explain that ObamaCare was written to fail, and that any effort by the Republicans to “fix” it, will be useless. It must be repealed in full. read more

I’ve been watching the tube (that’s a television, for all you younger readers) and listening to the radio, collecting reaction to the Ryan health insurance proposal. The Democrats aside – it seems there was strong support for the bill.

The establishment Republicans were all on board, as well as die hard Trump supporters.

Then there were the House Freedom Caucus members, who were firmly against it. The most vocal Senate opponents were the usual suspects and real conservatives, Mike Lee, Ted Cruz and Rand Paul. Count me in their camp.

Not surprisingly, virtually everyone on a certain cable news channel supported the Ryan bill – not for Ryan’s sake, but because president Trump was on board. What I did find a little surprising and a bit disturbing is that the majority of conservative radio talkers were also for the bill. Check that. They weren’t backing Ryan and the bill. They appeared to be on board in defense of Trump’s decision to support it. To me this seems misguided and frankly sycophantic.

I still hold that president Trump was sold a bill of goods by Republicans. Sure, he’s a smart guy, but even smart guys can be fooled. read more
