Video Podcast – Tom Perez – Graduate of Harvard LIE School

by: Brent Smith at The Common Constitutionalist

I would first like apologize for some wind noise that interfered with the podcast. It is only sporadic, but it does happen out on location.

DNC Chairman Tom Perez, graduate of Harvard Law School, claimed that the Electoral College, which elects the President, is somehow not in the Constitution.

Perez is too smart and well schooled for this to be a misstatement. Therefore, he lied.

Today, I discuss his lie, why he lied, and why the Electoral process is so important. read more

Elizabeth Warren Kicked Off Her Presidential Bid by Criticizing Obama

Remember when Barack Hussein Obama could do no wrong? I do, because it wasn’t too long ago. For eight long years we on the right suffered as Obama did whatever he pleased. And during this time there was not a single disparaging word from left.

But on January 21st, 2017, everything changed.

For a period, Obama vanished – went off to one after another vacation. But these weren’t just any old outings. These were luxury vacations with billionaires and beautiful people, in far-away places you or I could not hope to go.

But that’s not the only thing that changed on January 21st – the day after Trump was inaugurated. That date mark the start of a new campaign season.

I know what you’re thinking and probably saying out loud. We just finished. Can’t we get a break already? No – no we can’t. You might also be thinking that the 2018 midterms are still a ways away. Why do they need to begin so early? read more

Obama – the Man with Negative Coattails

The final numbers are in and they are not pretty.

Barack Obama, the grassroots community organizer forgot something while he was in office. He seems to have forgotten to organize the grassroots to support any one else but him.

Obama can talk up his wonderful and entirely fraudulent national economic recovery all he likes, but a more accurate assessment of the aftermath of Obama’s eight year reign is a dived nation and a democrat party in utter ruin.

The number of spots in state legislatures, governor’s mansions and Congress lost by Democrats during Obama’s presidency is more than 1030 seats. And worse than that, or better for us, is a complete lack of strategy, and stable of candidates, to win them back.

What does this say about democrat policy? It says that Americans actually hate the policies he espouses but evidently like Obama personally enough to vote for him – but only him. Although we’ve known about this odd juxtaposition of Obama and his policies – seeing the final number, 1030, is startling. read more

Look for Honest Economic Reporting to Begin Again

2017 will prove to be a very interesting year. Oh sure, Trump’s first 100 days will be chock full of excitement, controversy and consternation. But we should also look forward to, or be prepared for reports from the left on a whole host of issues that have gone unreported or misreported for eight long years.

All of the sudden we should begin to see some honest reporting, now that they will no longer need to shield the public from the folly which has been the Obama presidency and the Obama economy.

Isn’t it funny that Janet Yellen and the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) have decided now to begin raising interest rates. In the eight years of the booming Obama economic recovery, this is only the second interest hike. The first was a year ago, almost to the day, and that was the first since 2006. And one could easily argue that this last hike of 0.25% is barely on Obama’s watch, as it will have no effect on his presidency.

But they had no where else to go but up. Not that I’m a fan of rate hikes, but prior to last years pitiful 0.25% hike, the Fed’s interest rate had been at 0.0% for the previous seven years, when the FOMC knocked it down to zero in December 2008. read more

Can We Believe Our Spy Agencies Anymore

by: the Common Constitutionalist

What and who can we believe anymore? Not that it hasn’t come close in the past, but it appears today that every entity, every department and agency in Washington D.C. has suffered a critical meltdown of principle – of truth, justice and the American way.

The truth doesn’t matter anymore to the political ruling class – nor does doing the right thing because it’s good for America. We hear all the time about many things – that “it’s” worse than it’s ever been – “I’ve never seen it this bad.” And any reasonable person would react with the factual statement that people from every generation think this, whatever “this” happens to be. It could the heat, or the cold, or draught, or snow, race relations, poor economy – and yes, the division in Washington and the citizens of this nation.

In D.C. there has always been division, disagreement and outright animosity between parties and individual members. But through all the cheating, lying, infighting and back-stabbing, there were still government agencies the people thought they could count on to not be corrupted the way the political class has been – to do right by America.

I’m speaking of the agencies, such as the FBI, CIA, NSA, etc. We have been told that despite everything else melting down in Washington, we could depend on these agencies, to maintain a certain amount of independence and to at least keep us safe – that they are beyond reproach. But frankly, I don’t know anymore. read more

If Trump Loses, it Will be all on Him

Yesterday, Rush Limbaugh used what I think was his entire program to make a last ditch case for Donald Trump.

He stated that in the past, as the election nears, even leftist pollsters would begin cleaning up their act, to more accurately reflect the reality of elections. I agree with this. I too have said this.

Early on in the general election cycle, liberal polls consistently over sample to make it appear that the democrat is leading, in an attempt to influence voters. As the election closes in, the polls tighten to reflect reality. This is done so that polling companies can maintain a record of accuracy that they can point to later to solicit business.

However, Rush says it isn’t happening this time around  – that polls are still insisting that Hillary is maintaining a lead and will likely win.

Rush says: “My point is I think the polls are still being used as weapons and that’s a departure from my previously stated theories and beliefs. And I finally asked myself, I mean, if we don’t trust the news every day from these people, why would we trust their polls?”

He added that, “the purpose of all of this today in the Drive-By Media is to try to convince you it’s over. The objective is to dampen down Trump support and turnout at the polls. So much of this election has not gone the way the Hillary camp projected or wants it to go.” read more

Trump Missed a Golden Opportunity to Crush Hillary

Wednesday’s debate was just more of the same. Admittedly, I simply cannot watch an entire performance starring these two incompetents – so I toggled between the debate and the replays of New England Patriots Wednesday, where they show the press conferences from the ebullient Bill Belichick, Tom “Terrific” Brady and interviews with some key players.

I must have gotten lucky each time I switched back to the debacle debate to hear Chris Wallace, who did a good job, ask Hillary a question to which she each time spouted a canned response. Answers to which any competent opponent could have blown apart by simply choosing to put in a modicum of study and preparation.

But this is not Trump’s way. He has evidently convinced himself that copping the same attitude and demeanor that put him over the top in the Republican primary will have the same result in the general election. We’re all finding out this is not the case – all but Trump that is.

People want to hear more and they’re not getting it. If you are an honest, objective Trump supporter, you know this is true. I’m not a supporter – I still may end up voting for him – but I will certainly not support him. He has done nothing to earn that support – except for not being Hillary. read more

In 2016 – State Elections are of Equal Importance

by: the Common Constitutionalist

If we are to believe the polls, it would appear that Hillary Clinton has the 2016 presidential election virtually locked up.

As the election draws closers, polls historically become more accurate. The reason for this is that the companies who conduct polls have in their best interest to not only pick the winner, but to be as close as possible to predicting the margin of victory.

Professional polling companies live and die by polls, so accuracy is key to a good reputation – which leads to elite status amongst pollsters and to many more future contracts.

Early on, pollsters have a lot more leeway to get things wrong and even skew the election to the candidate they prefer. But as time becomes short, their livelihoods depend on getting it right. You will see a shift from polling just “adults,” to polling “registered” and “likely voters.”

Knowing this about polls and barring anything such as a Bradley/Wilder effect, this is Clinton’s election to lose. For those unfamiliar, the above “effect” is a circumstance when those being polled say they are voting for one candidate, due to not wanting to appear racist or sexist, or what they may perceive as peer pressure, but actually cast their ballot for another.

Yes, just saying President Hillary Clinton does lend itself to suicidal thoughts, I know. read more

Planned Parenthood is Back with a Vengeance

Planned Parenthood is back in the news. Hooray! They took a well-deserved hit after the videos emerged of just what an awful place it is and how awful some of the people who run these places are. Unfortunately not enough of a hit, as they are still in business.

But now, with eugenist-loving Hillary Clinton running for president, Planned Parenthood is preparing its triumphant comeback. Not just to defend its vile practice, but actually promote it as part of Hillary’s campaign. Hooray again!

OneNewsNow (ONN) reports that, “While Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards proclaimed to an Ohio crowd on Wednesday [10/05] that it is an ‘exciting thing’ to hear women ‘tell their abortion stories’ to help promote the procedure, the abortion giant also announced it is launching a $30 million army to storm the country campaigning for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.”

Wow – I know I’m very excited to hear some good-ole `round the campfire abortion stories. Maybe Cecile can record them as childrens’ bedtime stories. That would be great – you know – get the little girls started early. read more

In the Vernacular of the LGBTQ Community – I Guess I am Politically Questioning

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Give me a reason to vote for Trump!

Mark Levin has as much as said he’s voting for Trump. He certainly isn’t endorsing him, but as he describes, his choice is between slitting his own throat (a vote for Hillary) and cutting his own arm off (a vote for Trump). He says he sure is not going to slit his throat, and unlikely to cut his arm off, but given the choice…

I’m obviously unconvinced of Trump. That’s not accurate. I am convinced of Trump – convinced that he will out-progressive George Bush and will out-Hoover, Herbert Hoover. However, I will not say he’s unqualified, as Hillary has. He is qualified to be president.

I’m also convinced of Hillary – that she is possibly – check that – absolutely the most corrupt individual to run for the presidency in this country’s history. Yet she is qualified.

I’m tired of hearing from both sides that the other’s candidate is unqualified. Both he and Hillary are fully qualified to be president. What? Are you kidding, you may be saying? read more
