Dems Not to Lose Strategy is a sure fire Win for Trump

A couple of days ago I ran across an article on the Atlantic website entitled, “How Not to Lose to Donald Trump,” by none other than Rahm Emanuel, current Mayor of Chicago, and former Chief of Staff/Consigliere to then president Barack Obama.

He is famous, or infamous, for the saying, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. … This crisis provides the opportunity for us to do things that you could not before.”

And this, of course, goes for real and imagined or fabricated crises.

But coming from someone like Emanuel, I thought this strategy odd, that he would play not to lose instead of playing to win.

From the get-go, my first reaction was football. read more

Is This the Swan Song of the Electoral College?

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

For years, if not decades, the left has been attempting to rid the presidential election of the scourge of the Electoral College.

But despite their best efforts thus far, they’ve been unable to find a “loop hole” to exploit. It’s that darn Constitution’s fault. If we could just rewrite that, we’d be all set.

It’s just not fair, they say, that Hillary Clinton and Al Gore both won the popular vote, the vote of the people, the very underpinning of our democracy (which we are not), but were denied the presidency due to this arcane method of selection developed by a bunch of dead white racists some 250 years ago.

However, one progressive State may finally have found a long-dreamt-of solution? I guess time, and unfortunately the courts, will tell. I say unfortunately, because no matter how cut-and-dry a case may seem, the various brain-trusts in the courts could decide otherwise. Hello – ObamaCare. read more

Video Podcast – Climate Change Collapsed an Empire – Democrat Amendments

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Akkadia was the world’s first empire.

It was established in Mesopotamia around 4,300 years ago after its ruler, Sargon of Akkad, united a series of independent city states.

Yet after just 100 years, the empire collapsed due to … Climate Change.

But when they tried to flee the empire they discovered their enemies to the South had built a border wall to keep them out.

Democrat Rep. Steve Cohen of Tennessee introduced two Constitutional Amendments after the dems took back the House.

The first is to limit the President’s Constitutional authority to grant pardons. Like everything for the next two years, it’s all to hamper Trump’s presidential powers.

The second is to abolish the Electoral College. Democrats wish elections of the President to be determined only by popular vote. read more

Video Podcast – Tom Perez – Graduate of Harvard LIE School

by: Brent Smith at The Common Constitutionalist

I would first like apologize for some wind noise that interfered with the podcast. It is only sporadic, but it does happen out on location.

DNC Chairman Tom Perez, graduate of Harvard Law School, claimed that the Electoral College, which elects the President, is somehow not in the Constitution.

Perez is too smart and well schooled for this to be a misstatement. Therefore, he lied.

Today, I discuss his lie, why he lied, and why the Electoral process is so important. read more

Elizabeth Warren Kicked Off Her Presidential Bid by Criticizing Obama

Remember when Barack Hussein Obama could do no wrong? I do, because it wasn’t too long ago. For eight long years we on the right suffered as Obama did whatever he pleased. And during this time there was not a single disparaging word from left.

But on January 21st, 2017, everything changed.

For a period, Obama vanished – went off to one after another vacation. But these weren’t just any old outings. These were luxury vacations with billionaires and beautiful people, in far-away places you or I could not hope to go.

But that’s not the only thing that changed on January 21st – the day after Trump was inaugurated. That date mark the start of a new campaign season.

I know what you’re thinking and probably saying out loud. We just finished. Can’t we get a break already? No – no we can’t. You might also be thinking that the 2018 midterms are still a ways away. Why do they need to begin so early? read more

Obama – the Man with Negative Coattails

The final numbers are in and they are not pretty.

Barack Obama, the grassroots community organizer forgot something while he was in office. He seems to have forgotten to organize the grassroots to support any one else but him.

Obama can talk up his wonderful and entirely fraudulent national economic recovery all he likes, but a more accurate assessment of the aftermath of Obama’s eight year reign is a dived nation and a democrat party in utter ruin.

The number of spots in state legislatures, governor’s mansions and Congress lost by Democrats during Obama’s presidency is more than 1030 seats. And worse than that, or better for us, is a complete lack of strategy, and stable of candidates, to win them back.

What does this say about democrat policy? It says that Americans actually hate the policies he espouses but evidently like Obama personally enough to vote for him – but only him. Although we’ve known about this odd juxtaposition of Obama and his policies – seeing the final number, 1030, is startling. read more

Look for Honest Economic Reporting to Begin Again

2017 will prove to be a very interesting year. Oh sure, Trump’s first 100 days will be chock full of excitement, controversy and consternation. But we should also look forward to, or be prepared for reports from the left on a whole host of issues that have gone unreported or misreported for eight long years.

All of the sudden we should begin to see some honest reporting, now that they will no longer need to shield the public from the folly which has been the Obama presidency and the Obama economy.

Isn’t it funny that Janet Yellen and the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) have decided now to begin raising interest rates. In the eight years of the booming Obama economic recovery, this is only the second interest hike. The first was a year ago, almost to the day, and that was the first since 2006. And one could easily argue that this last hike of 0.25% is barely on Obama’s watch, as it will have no effect on his presidency.

But they had no where else to go but up. Not that I’m a fan of rate hikes, but prior to last years pitiful 0.25% hike, the Fed’s interest rate had been at 0.0% for the previous seven years, when the FOMC knocked it down to zero in December 2008. read more

Can We Believe Our Spy Agencies Anymore

by: the Common Constitutionalist

What and who can we believe anymore? Not that it hasn’t come close in the past, but it appears today that every entity, every department and agency in Washington D.C. has suffered a critical meltdown of principle – of truth, justice and the American way.

The truth doesn’t matter anymore to the political ruling class – nor does doing the right thing because it’s good for America. We hear all the time about many things – that “it’s” worse than it’s ever been – “I’ve never seen it this bad.” And any reasonable person would react with the factual statement that people from every generation think this, whatever “this” happens to be. It could the heat, or the cold, or draught, or snow, race relations, poor economy – and yes, the division in Washington and the citizens of this nation.

In D.C. there has always been division, disagreement and outright animosity between parties and individual members. But through all the cheating, lying, infighting and back-stabbing, there were still government agencies the people thought they could count on to not be corrupted the way the political class has been – to do right by America.

I’m speaking of the agencies, such as the FBI, CIA, NSA, etc. We have been told that despite everything else melting down in Washington, we could depend on these agencies, to maintain a certain amount of independence and to at least keep us safe – that they are beyond reproach. But frankly, I don’t know anymore. read more

If Trump Loses, it Will be all on Him

Yesterday, Rush Limbaugh used what I think was his entire program to make a last ditch case for Donald Trump.

He stated that in the past, as the election nears, even leftist pollsters would begin cleaning up their act, to more accurately reflect the reality of elections. I agree with this. I too have said this.

Early on in the general election cycle, liberal polls consistently over sample to make it appear that the democrat is leading, in an attempt to influence voters. As the election closes in, the polls tighten to reflect reality. This is done so that polling companies can maintain a record of accuracy that they can point to later to solicit business.

However, Rush says it isn’t happening this time around  – that polls are still insisting that Hillary is maintaining a lead and will likely win.

Rush says: “My point is I think the polls are still being used as weapons and that’s a departure from my previously stated theories and beliefs. And I finally asked myself, I mean, if we don’t trust the news every day from these people, why would we trust their polls?”

He added that, “the purpose of all of this today in the Drive-By Media is to try to convince you it’s over. The objective is to dampen down Trump support and turnout at the polls. So much of this election has not gone the way the Hillary camp projected or wants it to go.” read more
