Podcast – Vote Buying 2020 Style

by: Brent Smith

Just how much will buy your vote in 2020? How much is your vote worth? Is it as little as $10, a small bottle of liquor, or a tank of gas?

Maybe you feel your vote is worth much more. I mean – buying and selling votes is a form of voter fraud and is illegal, so if your going to sell your vote, it had better be worth it?

Certainly if someone were to offer to pay off your mortgage, that would do it. Maybe that’s a bit extravagant. So maybe pay off your car loan, or maybe, just maybe, a candidate or two might say, “vote for me and I’ll pay off your student loan debt?”

Gee, is anyone saying such a thing?

Is this then not just vote buying? read more

WND Exclusive – Cory Booker Out-Lefts the Rest on Gun Control

from Brent Smith for World Net Daily:

Another hard-left presidential candidate has announced a number of whacky gun control measures. Cory Booker, former virtue signaling mayor of Newark and boyfriend of radical leftist actress and activist Rosario Dawson, has joined another non-viable candidate, Eric Swalwell, in setting gun control as a major platform agenda.

Swalwell wishes to ban, “hand-held weapons of war. We should ban possession of military-style semiautomatic assault weapons, we should buy back such weapons from all who choose to abide by the law, and we should criminally prosecute any who choose to defy it by keeping their weapons.” He also claims that, “Our courts haven’t found a constitutional right to have assault weapons, anyway.”

What do you even say to something that inane? read more

WND Exclusive – Should We Ban Dems from Speaking on 2nd Amendment?

from Brent Smith for World Net Daily:

California representative Eric Swalwell is the latest empty suit to enter the presidential sweepstakes on the democrat side.

He evidently intends to make gun control – or rather, gun confiscation – his Numero Uno campaign agenda issue.

Last year Swalwell wrote: “An assault weapon, then, is a hand-held weapon of war, capable of spraying a crowd with more lethal fire in seconds. We should ban possession of military-style semiautomatic assault weapons, we should buy back such weapons from all who choose to abide by the law, and we should criminally prosecute any who choose to defy it by keeping their weapons. The ban would not apply to law enforcement agencies or shooting clubs.” read more

Podcast – The Electoral College – They Brought it Up – Not Us

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Okay – here we go again with the Electoral College. Why do we have to keep talking about the antiquated Electoral College?

But we on the right didn’t bring it up. The democrats continue to. I could be discussing other stuff, and really, who cares about the Electoral College. It’s dry and boring and does it really matter anyway?

Well, we better care and care a lot, because if the left wins the propaganda war and eventually somehow amends the Constitution or something, this country is finished. That’s not hyperbole – it’s cold hard fact.

If you want the Founders explanation of why it’s needed, read Federalist Paper, number 68, written by Alexander Hamilton.

I’m just doing it in modern day bad English.

So as long as the left keeps trying to ram pure democracy, mob rule, down our throats, we have to continue to at least try to educate those who might listen to the logic and beauty of our election system. read more

Dems Not to Lose Strategy is a sure fire Win for Trump

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

A couple of days ago I ran across an article on the Atlantic website entitled, “How Not to Lose to Donald Trump,” by none other than Rahm Emanuel, current Mayor of Chicago, and former Chief of Staff/Consigliere to then president Barack Obama.

He is famous, or infamous, for the saying, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. … This crisis provides the opportunity for us to do things that you could not before.”

And this, of course, goes for real and imagined or fabricated crises.

But coming from someone like Emanuel, I thought this strategy odd, that he would play not to lose instead of playing to win.

From the get-go, my first reaction was football. read more

Is This the Swan Song of the Electoral College?

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

For years, if not decades, the left has been attempting to rid the presidential election of the scourge of the Electoral College.

But despite their best efforts thus far, they’ve been unable to find a “loop hole” to exploit. It’s that darn Constitution’s fault. If we could just rewrite that, we’d be all set.

It’s just not fair, they say, that Hillary Clinton and Al Gore both won the popular vote, the vote of the people, the very underpinning of our democracy (which we are not), but were denied the presidency due to this arcane method of selection developed by a bunch of dead white racists some 250 years ago.

However, one progressive State may finally have found a long-dreamt-of solution? I guess time, and unfortunately the courts, will tell. I say unfortunately, because no matter how cut-and-dry a case may seem, the various brain-trusts in the courts could decide otherwise. Hello – ObamaCare. read more

Video Podcast – Climate Change Collapsed an Empire – Democrat Amendments

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Akkadia was the world’s first empire.

It was established in Mesopotamia around 4,300 years ago after its ruler, Sargon of Akkad, united a series of independent city states.

Yet after just 100 years, the empire collapsed due to … Climate Change.

But when they tried to flee the empire they discovered their enemies to the South had built a border wall to keep them out.

Democrat Rep. Steve Cohen of Tennessee introduced two Constitutional Amendments after the dems took back the House.

The first is to limit the President’s Constitutional authority to grant pardons. Like everything for the next two years, it’s all to hamper Trump’s presidential powers.

The second is to abolish the Electoral College. Democrats wish elections of the President to be determined only by popular vote. read more

Video Podcast – Tom Perez – Graduate of Harvard LIE School

by: Brent Smith at The Common Constitutionalist

I would first like apologize for some wind noise that interfered with the podcast. It is only sporadic, but it does happen out on location.

DNC Chairman Tom Perez, graduate of Harvard Law School, claimed that the Electoral College, which elects the President, is somehow not in the Constitution.

Perez is too smart and well schooled for this to be a misstatement. Therefore, he lied.

Today, I discuss his lie, why he lied, and why the Electoral process is so important. read more

Elizabeth Warren Kicked Off Her Presidential Bid by Criticizing Obama

by: the Common Constitutionalist

No Audio Version

Remember when Barack Hussein Obama could do no wrong? I do, because it wasn’t too long ago. For eight long years we on the right suffered as Obama did whatever he pleased. And during this time there was not a single disparaging word from left.

But on January 21st, 2017, everything changed.

For a period, Obama vanished – went off to one after another vacation. But these weren’t just any old outings. These were luxury vacations with billionaires and beautiful people, in far-away places you or I could not hope to go.

But that’s not the only thing that changed on January 21st – the day after Trump was inaugurated. That date mark the start of a new campaign season.

I know what you’re thinking and probably saying out loud. We just finished. Can’t we get a break already? No – no we can’t. You might also be thinking that the 2018 midterms are still a ways away. Why do they need to begin so early? read more
