The Power of Victimization

It’s quite obvious that Islam is treated much differently than are all other religions.

Check that. After further reflection, it is treated differently than all but one other religion. I overlooked the religion of leftism, which, like Islam, is both religious and political.

Islam is a religion which also has a command and control political machine. Radical Islamists seek to control every aspect of life. Radical leftism, the other side of the same coin, is a command and control political machine, which is treated like a religion, demanding blind faith of its followers, and also seeks to control every aspect of life.

And both have yet another thing in common, and that is victimization. Like leftism, Islamic victimization extends well beyond our borders.

In a case of hyper-#MeToo victimization, a doctor in Great Britain is in peril of losing his entire medical practice over one unsubstantiated claim by a Muslim woman. And the woman wasn’t even the patient. read more

Microsoft Ventures into Virtue Signaling

Microsoft wants its next generation word processing software, Microsoft Word, to be enlightened. This latest version, dubbed “Ideas in Word,” will use artificial intelligence to make your writing not just grammatically but politically correct. Because as we’ve come to realize, politically correct intelligence is indeed artificial.

“Similar to the program’s current grammar and spellcheck suggestions, Ideas in Word will underline words that appear insensitive in nature,” writes the Blaze.

But it’s more than just being politically correct – more than just an effort not to offend. Don’t we all wish to impress our reader(s), not only with proper grammar and punctuation, but also to demonstrate how educated and enlightened we are? Isn’t that really the most important aspect of the written or spoken word? Not to merely disseminate information, but to show the reader(s) that we care and that you should too.

Microsoft is at a decided disadvantage. Google can decrease the search ranking of right-wing hater websites, Twitter can suspend, temporarily or permanently, accounts they deem offensive. YouTube can demonetize accounts for the same reason and Facebook does essentially the same.

But Word is just a program for writing. So how can it become more woke? read more

Planned College Impeachment Over Two Words is Cancelled

from the College Fix:

Student diversity officials call off impeachment for ‘illegal aliens’ remark to avoid lawsuit

Mad at university for not addressing ‘hate’ online

Student government officials who threatened to impeach one of their leaders for using the phrase “illegal aliens” have backed off, citing fears for their “safety and wellbeing.”

They are also afraid of being sued for First Amendment violations.

Senators lashed out at Emporia State University administrators Wednesday night for not responding to the “hate” directed at them for the impeachment threat, according to The Bulletin student newspaper. read more

Woke Progressives are a Tiny Minority

Last week the Atlantic.com, of all places, posted an article dispelling the myth that there is an fast growing progressive movement on the rise in this country.

It’s called being “Woke.” For those unfamiliar, or otherwise have a life, being “woke” is like you figured it all out – that you, more than others, particularly those on the right, have your finger on the pulse of the nation. You’ve been awakened.

In fact these “woke” Americans are the most clueless among us and willfully fall prey to every leftist claim and theory they stumble upon. Unfortunately, the same can be said of some on the right, who too trap themselves in a maze of conspiracy theories.

For the “woke,” the trap is political correctness.

The study the Atlantic cites is entitled, “Hidden Tribes: A Study of America’s Polarized Landscape.” read more

Students and Faculty Turn on Professor

from Heat Street:

Snowflakes of Color

The faculty at Evergreen State College sent a letter to students Friday saying they stand behind the protesters who have wreaked havoc on the campus this week and plan to pursue disciplinary action against the target of their demonstrations, Prof. Brett Weinstein.

The Washington college of about 4,000 students erupted in protests last week after Weinstein, a biology professor, told student activists he did not agree with their “Day of Absence” plans. The Day of Absence usually consists of students of color leaving the campus for the day, to bring awareness to their presence and issues. This year, however, student activists wanted all white students and faculty to leave for the day. Weinstein, who supported the Day of Absence tradition in the past, called this year’s plan an act of oppression. read more

WND Exclusive – The Latest Snowflake F-Bomb Tantrum

I always believed that being a liberal was the easiest thing on earth – that it takes virtually no thought at all. Apparently, I was wrong. Turns out that being a modern-day leftist is hard – keeping up with daily shifts in gender, microaggressions, trigger words, safe space locations, etc. I’m tired (and disappointed) just thinking about it.

Being a constitutional, fiscal and cultural conservative is much easier. Nothing of our core beliefs ever changes, because they never need to.

But these days, the left must always stay on top of their game. They can never take a break from their out-of control correctness, because someone even more PC will be there to call them out, as is the case this time.

Evidently, the Political Union at the University of Chicago didn’t describe an upcoming event properly, and this offended many snowflakes on campus. read more

Building the University of Diversity

by: the Common Constitutionalist

College may soon become like high school. All you have to do is show up and you’re accepted. How so, you may ask?

It seems many colleges and universities have begun dropping the SAT/ACT requirement for admission. And not just at no-name schools, like Muddy Water State (not a real school). No – major colleges like Columbia and George Washington University have joined over 850 colleges and universities who have curtailed the importance of or outright dropped these standardized tests.

These schools are instead taking a more “holistic” approach when screening students for admission. “When Columbia University took the plunge earlier this summer, dropping the SAT subject tests and SAT and ACT writing portions as application requirements starting next year, it became the first member of the Ivy League to do both.”

George Washington University has dropped testing for most freshman. This is great news for those in high school, no longer having to stress out over there SAT score, or pay again to take it over in an attempt to improve their scores.

But why abandon the time honored standardized test – why after all these years switch to the “holistic” approach? read more

Genderless Bathrooms – It’s the Agenda Stupid

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Our country has fallen head first into the crapper when people from the left and right can’t see the problem with letting transgendered men and women use whatever bathroom, locker room and shower they wish.

What the heck is wrong with us? There seems to be so very few left with the combination of courage and conviction. Instead it’s been replaced with cowardice and expedience. And ditto regarding common sense.

Let’s first set the record straight on one thing. A transgendered man is still physically, anatomically a man and vice versa for a woman. The dictionary definition of transgender is: “noting or relating to a person whose gender identity does not correspond to that person’s biological sex assigned at birth.”

But this is not how we think of the transgendered. More likely when the average person hears the term transgender, they automatically think of someone who was once a man and is now a woman and vice versa. Obviously, according to the definition, this is not correct. read more

Iron Mike Ditka Pays the Price for Being Conservative

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Sheeesh! This is second time this week I’ve written about Rush Limbaugh. It does have to do with politics, but thankfully it doesn’t concern the presidential election or the never-ending primary season. I know it’s of vital importance, but frankly the never ending daily doses of it are getting a bit old.

So let’s instead turn our attention to something sports related – sports as it relates to politics.

Some of you may remember that Rush Limbaugh did a short stint as a commentator on the sports network ESPN. If you don’t, that’s okay. It was after all 13 years ago. In 2000 Limbaugh was passed over for a seat on the ABC Monday Night Football crew. They instead went with Dennis Miller. That worked out well – NOT.

Three years later he was offered a position on ESPN’s flagship broadcast, “NFL Sunday Night Countdown,” joining Chris Berman, Tom Jackson, Steve Young and Michael Irvin. I recall Rush telling his radio audience that they told him he could speak about anything – that there would be virtually no filter. And he believed them – silly guy. read more

From The Rooney Rule to the Looney Rule

by: the Common Constitutionalist

In 2003 the National Football League instituted a hiring practice called the Rooney Rule. The rule was named for Dan Rooney, the owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers and chairman of the NFL diversity committee and a big liberal. The rule mandates that every NFL team interview at least one minority candidate for a head coaching and executive positions. By minority, they actually only mean black applicants.

The reason for this mandate is that about 70% of all NFL players are black whereas virtually all head coaches and G.M.s are white. To Rooney and the diversity committee, this would not do. It was like black players doing their white masters bidding all over again. This new rule was a perfect solution for the guilty white liberal owners.

After its institution, the rule was immediately criticized by activists and academia that it was mere window dressing as it only applied to head coaching positions, not to assistants. At no time has anyone on the committee pondered the merit based system of hiring that has worked for so many years and produced some of sports greatest head coaches. read more
