Power Insists She was not the Only Unmasker

from Constitution.com:

The investigation into the Obama administration’s unmasking of innocent American citizens continues to move forward, but also continues to grow more convoluted. In recent weeks we’ve learned that former United Nations Ambassador Samantha Power was responsible for requesting Americans be “unmasked” some 260 different times during her final year in the administration. It’s an odd realization because Power was not leading one of our intelligence agencies, or working in an investigative role, why would she need such highly classified intelligence?

On Tuesday, the lead House investigator, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) who heads the House Intelligence Committee told Fox News that she may not have done it at all. read more

Obama Crime Syndicate Extorted Cash for Friends

Those who love government, love it, in part, for its authority to regulate evil private sector industries. Of course this is redundant, because as we know, all private sector endeavors are inherently evil. All private sector corporations would purposely poison, maim and/or kill all of their customers if it weren’t for government regulation forbidding them from doing so.

So when our government watchdogs sniff out a company which has produced a faulty product or otherwise swindled the innocent, you can bet a hefty financial penalty will follow suit.

Yet, as we’ve known for years, and others are now discovering, the Obama government was not as much an industry watchdog as it was possibly the world’s largest crime syndicate.

Ben Shapiro’s Daily Wire reports on a Fox News story that broke just Wednesday. “Advocates for big government and progressive power are using the Justice Department to extort money from corporations,” Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch told Fox. “It’s a shakedown. It’s corrupt, pure and simple.” read more

Cash and Gold to Iran

It’s always nice to see something confirmed that we knew had happened.

from The Blaze:

The Obama administration reportedly signed legal waivers that allowed sanctions relief to the tune of $10 billion in cash and gold to be sent to Iran as part of the Iran deal. But the White House denies that they had any direct role in the payments.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the cash and gold were moved through third-party countries in the Middle East and Europe after Asian nations unfroze Iranian oil revenues and wired the funds to various banks, including in Oman, Switzerland and Turkey. read more

Obamites Push to Regulate Political Speech

Well, this is good news for all us political bloggers and all you who enjoy reading:

from Breitbart:

As the media prepared to vacate newsrooms for the weekend, Democrats snuck in a last minute proposal that the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) be allowed to heavily regulate political content on internet sites such as Youtube, blogs, and the Drudge Report. read more

Ebola – Don’t Panic – We Got This

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Our government has it all under control and we should believe them. After all, they’ve done so well with literally everything else.

We see how well this administration has handled Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention ISIS, so far. The Obamacare website is running like a Swiss watch, or is that a Yugo.

They’ve brokered peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Oh wait… they haven’t. Russia and the U.S. have never been closer. Um… Okay, maybe not that one either.

All right, so this administration has made a few mistakes and miscalculations and maybe they haven’t been 100% honest, but hey, we all tell little white lies, don’t we?

But I just know they are all over this Ebola outbreak and I guarantee they are now and will be fully forthcoming about anything we need to know. After all, honesty is the cornerstone of the Obama administration.

So when I heard just recently that the Ebola virus Will Not make it to the United States, naturally I was relieved – that is until the virus made it to the United States.

When I heard rumors that Ebola might mutate into an airborne virus, it was panic time, until the CDC put my mind at ease. They said of the 23 known serious viruses affecting humans, none are known to have mutated in ways that infect humans. Whew! That was a close one. Then they offered this minor caveat: “Of course, we only know about a small portion of the existing viruses.” HUH? read more

Immigration Policy Is like the Roll of the Dice

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Remember when you were a kid? Maybe your family and friends got together to play a board game (what’s that). You set up the board on a table, set out the pieces and were ready to start.

Invariably the question of the dice would come up. What if, during your roll, one of the dice fell off the table? If it landed on the floor and a desirable number came up, you thought the roll should count, but if it was a crappy number, you would claim it didn’t count and declare a rollover.

Well, that the Obama administration’s immigration policy. Actually, that pretty much sums up his entire presidency.

We see examples of this everywhere. What happens when a Governor decides the feds are doing squat about the illegal infestation in his or her state? Of course, they try, with the help of their own state legislators, to devise a remedy.

And what do the feds do? They step in and declare that immigration is the purview of the federal government or a federal judge deems the measure “magically” unconstitutional. read more

A Tale of Two Administrations

By: the Common Constitutionalist
The Obama administration is one the most, if not the most schizophrenic in American history.

I literally mean the dictionary definition of schizophrenic which is, “a state characterized by the coexistence of contradictory or incompatible elements.”

In other words, the separation between our government’s treatment of foreign policy, or more precisely, how other countries now view America, and domestic policy, or the way the average American citizen views their/our own government.

Take a look around the globe and name one country that any longer fears the potential wrath of United States, except our once loyal ally, Israel.

Russia, under Putin is on the move. He can’t stand Obama, knows he’s a girlie man and will continue to do whatever he wishes, regardless of our administrations feckless attempts to talk him into submission.

Russia supplies at least 25% of Europe’s natural gas and there is currently no replacement for it. He’s knows this, therefore they won’t dare face him down. Putin obviously knows that any “tough” talk coming from Obama or his minions is just that – talk.

He has no fear of the United States and thus no fear of expanding his empire. read more

The Assault on Coal Continues

by: the Common Constitutionalist

As reported recently at Liberty Alliance, Obama appears to be delivering on yet another campaign promise. The ruination of the entire US economy? No, that’s not it… yet. It’s a promise that “electricity rates will necessarily skyrocket”.

According to the Liberty Alliance report, the average kilowatt hour jumped to 13.5 cents, a record high in March 2014 and if trends continue, the rate will rise further in the coming months. Like gas prices – welcome to the new normal.

Completely unrelated (I’m sure) is a report from ClimateProgress, the tree hugging division of radical ThinkProgress, who gleefully reported that the White House approved new coal dust rules aimed at dropping the rate of black lung disease. read more

Obama’s “Just Say No” Administration

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I was flipping through news channels Sunday morning and happened upon MSNBC. Okay, I didn’t just happen upon it for I usually avoid it like the plague, but Fox was discussing some pop-culture nonsense.

There was a discussion panel with four liberals and one former George HW Bush progressive consultant. He was both progressive and black, so it was okay.

They were discussing Ted Cruz and naturally there was no love in the room. They allowed the “Republican” consultant plenty of time to trash Ted. He (the Republican) said he was more of a Chris Christie Republican. That’s really all you need to know about him.

He described Ted Cruz as being a closed tent conservative. How Cruz harkened back to a different era in America and apparently that is never a good thing – to look back, unless of course you’re looking back to FDR or LBJ. The consultant wants the party to be constantly looking “forward”. That’s what good progressives do, don’t you know.

One of the libs chimed in saying that Cruz is satisfied to “just say no” to every initiative. That he is only interested in shrinking government. Oh the horror! read more

Cruz Missle

from: David Martosko of the UK Daily Mail

Senator Ted Cruz is mad as hell about the U.S. State Department, and he’s not going to take it anymore. The Texas Republican said Wednesday that because President Obama has never appointed an Inspector General to investigate the agency’s problems, he will block every other State Department nominee until that’s corrected.

‘The President’s failure to nominate a State Department Inspector General since taking office in 2009 is unacceptable,’ Cruz said. ‘The position has been vacant for almost 2,000 days.’

‘During the last five years, there have been deadly attacks on U.S. diplomatic personnel in Libya, mismanagement of security contractors at our embassy in Afghanistan, and hundreds of millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars wasted for police training in Iraq,’ he complained.

Cruz said he's fed up with the administration's failure to appoint watchdogs inside cabinet-level agencies. Any single senator can place a 'hold' on a presidential nominee

Then-Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and President Barack Obama spoke during a Transfer of Remains Ceremony following the Benghazi attack
Then-Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and President Barack Obama spoke during a Transfer of Remains Ceremony following the Benghazi attack. Without a functioning Inspector General, Cruz contends, it’s unlikely the truth about the State Department’s failures in Libya will ever be known

‘These issues highlight the State Department’s need for an Inspector General as soon as possible. Until the President acts, I have notified Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell that I will place a hold on all State Department nominations.’

On June 14 the president nominated six new ambassadors to serve in Brazil, Spain, Germany, Denmark, Ethiopia and the Vatican.

Four days earlier he announced his picks to represent the U.S. at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, and on the UN Human Rights Council.

On May 23 the administration nominated ambassadors to Nigeria and NATO, and named former State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland to be Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs.

U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens and three other Americans died during the 2012 terror attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. The State Department’s own internal probe into that event has inspired little confidence among congressional Republicans

While Cruz’s one-man wrecking crew will place all those appointments in jeopardy, it’s Nuland’s nomination that could prove most embarrassing for the White House.

Nuland is the staffer who is most closely identified with the administration’s rewriting of the CIA’s candid assessment of what happened on Sept. 12, 2012 when terrorists attacked the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

The result was a doctored set of talking points that conservatives say gave UN Ambassador Susan Rice a clear field to lie on five Sunday political talk shows.

Without an inspector general, that episode won’t likely be investigated internally.

Cruz cited information from the Project on Government Oversight, which said three other high level agencies — the Interior and Labor Departments, and the Agency for International Development — also lack Inspectors General.

The State Department did not respond to a request for comment.
