Video Podcast – Republicans Heart ObamaCare – A Second Amendment Victory

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Out and about in the forest, I speak to you regarding an article in the Conservative Review about the turncoat Rep

ublicans and their desire to maintain the status quo and yes – ObamaCare.

Walking the rails like a hobo, I discuss a recent lower court ruling that once again slapped down Washington D.C.’s latest attempt at a gun ban – this time on concealed carry. read more

Podcast – Deportation Sob Stories – Scary Firearms are Banned – Take Down that American Flag

Every week, the left will trot out poor illegal aliens who face deportation by that big meanie Trump. Last week was no different. The radical illegal immigrant advocates regale us with sob stories of how unfair the President is. I touch on a few of the latest tearjerkers.

The U.S. Fourth Circuit is making their own unconstitutional law, by stating that scary “exceptionally lethal weapons of war” are not protected by the Second Amendment – as opposed to weapons which are not lethal – I guess.

Podcast – The British Take Their Country Back – A Liberal Websites Honest Reporting on Guns

In this episode I discuss Brexit, the exit of merry old England from that socialist cesspool known as the European Union. Despite the dire predictions from elites the world over and the leftist press, the British people still pulled the lever for sovereignty. From that day forward, anything negative that occurs in England will be blamed on the stupidity of the British people. How dare they wish to govern themselves!

In segment two, I am stunned by a relatively equitable and honest accounting of guns, gun violence and gun owners by a liberal British website. Congratulations to the Guardian for having the courage to actually listen to gun owners and NRA members and report on the interactions fairly. read more

The NRA, Grover Norquist, and the Muslim Brotherhood

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I know I may tick some people off with this post, so before I begin I’d like to remind everyone that there are no sacred cows when it comes to the defense of this country or the Constitution, and its ideals and values. I mean no person or organization. In other words – don’t shoot the messenger.

If I’m wrong about something, or appear to be shielding or wrongly defending someone, some group or organization, I would hope someone would NRAcall me out and set me straight, or at least present another point of view.

I say this because I’m going to continue what Glenn Beck began yesterday – by calling out the NRA over their association with Grover Norquist.

Now, some might say – oh no, not Glenn Beck. He’s a crazy religious zealot. Well, some might say that, but if he’s right about something, why does it matter. If it were Joe Biden or Nancy Pelosi standing up for what is right, it still would not change my position.

I’ve been a proud member of the NRA for years and have defended them several times through various articles. They are the number one defender of the Second Amendment and I feel quite certain we are all better off because they are around. Without their support of our God given right to keep and bear arms, we might look like most of Europe by now.

But then I heard this just yesterday – that Grover Norquist is up for re-election to the board of directors of the National Rifle Association. My first thought was why he is on the board to begin with. How did he land there in the first place? My second was – okay, he’s there but maybe they can rectify their error, unless no one has looked into Grover’s background or affiliations, which appears to be evident, for if they had they should want nothing to do with him. read more

Unequal Justice under the Law

by: the Common Constitutionalist

We all remember the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting in 2012. It’s hard to believe it has been over two years. We also recall the shooter, with his Bushmaster 223 rifle and its high capacity magazine – how the gun control wackos came out of the woodwork to call for a national ban on “scary” looking guns and high-capacity magazines. As if that matters.

SheenWhether it’s an AK-47 with a 30 round magazine or a pink Ruger .380 side arm – if either is pointed at you, it’s scary.

Speaking of high-capacity magazines, we might remember the uproar over then Meet the Press host David Gregory’s interview with the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre. It’s the one where Gregory actually brought a scary looking 30 round “high-capacity” magazine onto the set in Washington D.C. to confront Mr. LaPierre.

It’s a wonder anyone on the set survived the incident – you know – because magazines kill people. I’m reminded of the scene in the comedy, Hot Shots-Part Deux, where Charlie Sheen (back when he was still funny), was mowing down the enemy with a belt fed machine gun, and with the enemy still advancing, runs out of ammo. He drops the weapon, bends down, picks up a handful of bullets and throws them at the soldiers, killing them all. Very funny, but quite ridiculous. Kind of like brandishing an empty magazine with no gun. read more

Open Carry Idiocy

by: the Common Constitutionalist

A potentially lethal weapon should not be synonymous with jewelry. One does not carry a weapon as a fashion statement.

Regular readers know that I, the Common Constitutionalist, “packs heat”, as a friend from the gym says. He’s former Marine force recon, so I let the slang go.

Readers also know I prefer open carry to concealed for reasons explained here.

In short, I open carry to make a statement. No, not a fashion statement, nor some highfalutin Constitutional reason as one might expect. I open carry for one reason. It’s a sign, a banner to any would-be attacker: “leave me the *%$# alone. That’s it. It’s no more complicated than that.

Being that I open carry, one would naturally conclude that I would be all for the group “Open Carry Texas” bringing their weapons into restaurants such as Chili’s, Chipotle and Sonic, which they did.

To that I would say – WRONGO! read more

Don’t Dance with the Devil

A few days ago I read an article pertaining to a gun club in Colorado. I was on the Durango Herald news site. Ah yes, the Herald. It’s where I go to get all my news. Oh, and the story was also reported on by Becket Adams of The Blaze.

Okay, I’ll give you the Herald, but this Blaze- what’s that?

Anyway, the article was about the nonprofit Durango Gun Club and the trouble it’s having with the city of Durango Colorado. Durango – just saying it makes me think of the Duke, John Wayne.

As an aside, any liberals who may be reading this – I know what you’re thinking. How could the righteousness of the word “Nonprofit” be tainted by that incendiary word “Gun”? If it’s too painful, you may stop reading. read more

Gun Club Drops Goal

from The Blaze:

A Colorado gun club avoided eviction this week by agreeing to drop a new requirement that its 700 members join the National Rifle Association.

Just days after being threatened by city officials, John Malarsie, president of the Durango Gun Club in Durango, Colo., announced in a letter the group’s decision to “voluntarily suspend this membership requirement.”

City Manager Ron LeBlanc told the Durango Herald: “We told them either to stop or get evicted – I think that’s pretty clear.” read more
