MSM Equates Human Rights Abuses to Trump calling them Fake News

from NewsBusters:

Kelly Jane Torrance of The Weekly Standard wrote a startling article on “Our self-obsessed parochial press corps” in the magazine’s May 7 edition. The setting was an April 20 State Department briefing on its report on human-rights abuses in other countries…but the reporters wanted to focus on the horrors of America, where a president says “Fake News.”

Life Liberty & Levin is a Must See

Media Research Center’s Brent Bozell and Tim Graham explain why Mark Levin’s latest television venture is must see TV. The Fox news program, which airs each Sunday night at 10 PM Eastern time is real educational TV, unlike the soundbite filled clap-trap presented as news on other shows.

I can personally attest – you’ll be smarter for watching it.

Learning from ‘Life Liberty & Levin’

Liberal journalists have spilled a whole lot of ink in the Trump era boasting how they’ve suffered watching a week or so of Fox News programming to explore the strange informational terrain of the Trump voter. They pompously proclaim it’s television for your crazy Uncle Frank, pushing conspiracy theories for dumb people while nurturing resentments toward the elites — meaning, of course, them. read more

Shocker: Leftist Wants to Abolish Second Amendment

from NewsBusters:

In an appearance on NBC’s Sunday Today early that morning, moderator Chuck Todd lambasted Republicans for being the reason gun control efforts were making no progress since they were in control of the House, Senate, and the Presidency. Todd ratcheted up his anti-gun stance during Meet the Press by promoting radical calls to abolish the right to bears by repealing the Second Amendment. And he did it by highlighting the writings of Bret Stephens, a never-Trumper turned liberal.

Isn’t the difficulty here legislatively, the constitution,” Todd lamented to his largely liberal panel. “Which is Bret Stephens’ point in The New York Times, he’s calling for the repeal of the Second Amendment.” He then emphatically read from the liberal’s talking points: read more

To the Left, All Guns are Automatic

from NewsBusters:

Katy Tur Still Doesn’t Know What ‘Semiautomatic’ Means

Every time the term ‘semiautomatic weapon’ hits the mainstream, it’s almost certain that at least one pundit will put their foot in their mouth wile talking about firearms. Thanks to Katy Tur, that trend has continued.

On Thursday, the MSNBC host went on a furious rant about the availability of semiautomatic weapons, presumably arguing in favor of further restrictions on that class of firearm. However, it soon became clear that she was doing what so many others in the media have before her: confusing single-action semiautomatic fire with full auto. Let Ms. Tur serve as a reminder that fake news does not have to be deliberate in order to fit the bill. read more

Another Example of Media Bias

from NewsBusters:

Mayor Joy Cooper of Hallandale Beach, Florida, was forced to resign by Sunshine State Governor Rick Scott on Friday after her Thursday arrest on three felony charges: campaign finance violations, official misconduct and money laundering. At least four Florida news outlets have run reports failing to tag Cooper, who is accused of accepted illegal campaign finance checks from Russians, as a Democrat. read more

If Poll Results don’t Fit – You Must Omit

from Newsbusters:

Taxpayer-funded PBS and NPR are now in the polling business with Marist College, and like the other networks, their polls are often used to support putting heat on Republicans. On Wednesday, they announced they had found a majority of Americans were disappointed with the president’s responsive to the violence in Charlottesville. PBS then ignored their own finding that 62 percent favored leaving Confederate statues in place, while only 27 percent want them removed. NPR reported it once, and then insisted that had nothing to do with Charlottesville.

Buried in the weeds: They also asked if Americans approve or disapprove of Black Lives Matter: 50 percent disapproved, and only 33 percent approved. They even asked about approval of Antifa, but few had heard of them yet: Five percent approved, 24 percent disapproved, 18 percent said they had no opinion either way, and 53 percent were unsure. But if the results don’t fit….you must omit?

Climate Change & Hollywood

Hollywood and global-warming panic have always been a natural match. After all, who can tell you better to cut back on your wasteful ways better than a high-flying multi-millionaire movie star with the carbon footprint of a Tyrannosaurus Rex?

It’s never mattered that the stars have all the scientific expertise of Pee Wee Herman. They’re just so good-looking and famous, who cares? PBS broadcast a ten-hour series in 1990 entitled Race to Save the Planet. The show’s host was Meryl Streep, who proclaimed: “By the year 2000…the Earth’s climate will be warmer than it’s been in over 100,000 years. If we don’t do something, there will be enormous calamities in a very short time.” read more

Christie’s Need to be Loved…By the Left

from: Ann Coulter:

New Jersey governor Chris Christie deserves to be defended. The gravamen of the media’s case against Christie on Bridgegate seems to be that he is a “bully” — which I painstakingly gleaned from the fact that the governor is called a “bully” 1 million times a night on MSNBC and in hundreds of blog postings and New York Times reports.

Christie is not a bully. If anything, he’s a pansy, a man terrified of the liberal media, of Wall Street, of Silicon Valley, of Obama, of Bruce Springsteen, of Mark Zuckerberg, of Chuck Schumer. It’s a good bet he’s afraid of his own shadow. (In fairness, his shadow is probably pretty big and scary.) About the only thing Christie doesn’t seem afraid of is the buffet at Sizzler.

Even Christie’s defenders call him a bully, but in an admiring way. Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly recently said of the governor: “One reason Mitt Romney lost to President Obama was that Governor Romney is too much of a gentleman. He apparently did not have the ‘fire in the belly’ to deliver a knockout blow. But Christie does and is therefore a threat to the Democratic Party.” read more
