Could Have Had a Coronavirus Vaccine

from NBC:

Scientists were close to a coronavirus vaccine years ago. Then the money dried up.

“We just could not generate much interest,” a researcher said of the difficulty in getting funding to test the vaccine in humans.

Bob Costas interrupts football game to bash American gun owners

by: Chris W. Cox (NRA-ILA)

When celebrities and media personalities attempt to plumb the depths of our social consciousness, the result is rarely pretty. Such was the case Sunday night when NBC sportscaster Bob Costas shamelessly tried to capitalize on the recent and tragic murder-suicide involving the NFL’s Jovan Belcher to score personal political points against law-Costasabiding gun owners.

For anyone who missed it, in his halftime segment during Sunday night’s NFL game between the Dallas Cowboy and the Philadelphia Eagles, Costas hit his captive audience of football fans over the head with this absurd rant:

You want some actual perspective on this? Well, a bit of it comes from the Kansas City-based writer Jason Whitlock with whom I do not always agree, but who today said it so well that we may as well just quote or paraphrase from the end of his article…
Handguns do not enhance our safety. They exacerbate our flaws, tempt us to escalate arguments, and bait us into embracing confrontation rather than avoiding it. In the coming days, Jovan Belcher’s actions, and their possible connection to football, will be analyzed. Who knows?
But here, wrote Jason Whitlock, is what I believe. If Jovan Belcher didn’t possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today.

Only a media elitist, living a cloistered life inside the NBC newsroom, could let loose with such a woefully ignorant, ill-timed and irresponsible statement.
Furthermore, the fact that Costas tried to partially hide behind a fellow journalist borders on cowardice.

According to criminologist Gary Kleck, 2.5 million Americans use firearms to defend their lives and the lives of their loved ones each year. The obvious truth is that if Bob Costas and whitlock-ho-hoshis gun-ban buddies at NBC had their way, many of these innocent men and women would not be alive today.

Seemingly, Costas has absolutely no knowledge of the fact that good men and women — and oftentimes, the physically weakest among us — rely on firearms as the only reasonable means of protecting themselves from would-be murderers, rapists and thugs.
Take the case of the elderly woman in Sarasota, Florida, who, earlier this year, used a handgun to fend off an attacker who broke through her kitchen window. “I was fearful of my life,” the grandmother tearfully told a 911 operator after she fired two shots at the intruder, causing him to flee.

Or the case of a young Oklahoma mother, who used a firearm to successfully defend herself and her three-month-old baby this past New Year’s Eve from a man armed with a 12-inch hunting knife who kicked in her door and came straight for her and her child.
On the other hand, consider the tragic reality of Bob Costas’ and Jason Whitlock’s gun-ban utopia.

In 2007, Amanda Collins was a student at the University of Nevada, Reno. Although she possessed a legal permit to carry a handgun, the university prohibited her from doing so on campus property.

Late one night, after taking a mid-term exam, Collins was attacked and brutally raped in awoman-defending-herself campus parking garage located just 100 yards from a police station. And although she escaped with her life that night, another young woman abducted near the same campus would not be so lucky.

Brianna Denison had been staying with a friend during winter break when she went missing in the middle of the night. After a frantic, four-week search, authorities finally found Brianna’s naked, frozen body, crudely hidden underneath a discarded Christmas tree. She had been kidnapped, raped and strangled to death — savaged by the same monster who attacked Amanda in the parking garage just a few months earlier.

As is often the case with media talking heads, it’s doubtful that Bob Costas has any real understanding of the recklessness of his statements. However, ignorance is never a good excuse, and that’s especially true for someone like Bob Costas, who prides himself on being a responsible journalist.

Bob Costas offended millions of law-abiding, gun-owning football fans with his gun-ban rant. He not only owes every one of us an apology, but also a promise that, in the future, he’ll stick to doing what he’s paid very well to do: talk about sports.

from: the Common Constitutionalist:

We will never receive an apology, nor should we expect one. He (Costas) is a liberal and liberals don’t. The most one would expect is a scripted faux apology, more likely apologizing for the stupidity of us viewers, not being sophisticated enough to understand his highbrow leftist logic.

The web homepage at MSN, a day later, had posted a photo of the Kansas City Chiefs players lined up on the sideline of the football field at Sunday’s game with the caption, “A win, amid grief after LB’s death”.

Honoring a Murderer

Honoring a Murderer

The linebacker’s death? You mean the murderer?

What about the victim, Cassandra? Maybe if she had a gun, she would still be alive. Frankly, I don’t much care about the health of Jovan, the murderer.

The absurdity of the “just take away the guns” argument bears a bit of scrutiny.

If you take away the guns the only people with guns would be the government and criminals, that are deemed criminals do their penchant for breaking the law.

It would be like saying, “If you just close all the banks there would be no more bank robberies”.

Or maybe, “If it weren’t for all those dogs, Michael Vick wouldn’t be an ex-con and Matt Ryan might be playing quarterback for the Chiefs or the Jags.”

I do agree with the saying, guns do, in fact, kill people. However, they do need help.

I don’t check on my weapons every day. Maybe I’ve just been lucky, but in my absence, none of my weapons have ever gotten up, left the house unsupervised, killed or wounded anyone and returned home without my knowledge.

Leave it to a liberal to blame everyone and everything but the perpetrator.

Romney/Ryan

by: the Common Constitutionalist

NBC and MSNBC are truly despicable. They’ve been on the edge of dishonesty for years, but since Obama has been elected, they have fallen over the edge and have fully embraced the dark side.

They’ve lied about the Tea Party repeatedly.

You recall the selectively dishonest editing of George Zimmerman, in the Trayvon Martin case, making him sound like a racist who wanted to kill the black kid.

How about the Romney/WAWA incident from a few months ago. Romney describes his visit to a WAWA convenience store where he touched a couple of keypad buttons, payed the cashier and “there’s your sandwich”. Andrea Mitchell reported purposely as Romney being out of touch with the regular folks and the newsclip was, of course, edited to make it appear that way.

In fact, watching the entire video, which Andrea wouldn’t allow, you’ll plainly see Romney making the comparison between private sector efficiency and innovation and public sector red-tape.

The latest act of reporting malfeasance comes to us again via MSNBC, during Joe Scarborough’s show, “The Morning Joe”. A clip of a Romney/Ryan campaign stop was played which made it appear that the sizable crowd was chanting “Ryan, Ryan, Ryan! The closed captioning added by MSNBC even showed the words Ryan, Ryan, Ryan.

The Morning Joe people then showed an “embarrassed Romney interrupting the chant by saying, ” No, it should be Romney/Ryan, Romney Ryan.” The MSNBC crew was shocked at the juvenile attempt of Mitt to jealously try to inject himself into the chant. Joe and Mika were aghast and their disappointment in Romney was evident from their expressions.

A day later MSNBC’s Martin Bashir simply kept the Mitt-Bashing train rolling. But, why not? After all, Mitt was being overshadowed by his running mate and that apparently didn’t sit well with Romney.

As is more often than not with MSNBC, there’s a problem with this report. They lied again!

You see, if you listen carefully to the video clip, you’ll hear the crowd is not chanting Ryan, Ryan. So what were the chanting?

It seems some attendees to the rally caught wind of the MSNBC report and started calling in to various shows. The eye (and ear) witnesses saw and heard something completely different.

The crowd was actually chanted, “Romney, Romney, Romney” during Ryan’s speech. Evidently Mitt interrupted Ryan to tell the crowd that it should be Romney/Ryan, Romney/Ryan.

On attendee called into the BlazeTv. “The crowd was yelling,” caller Sherry recounts, “the crowd was screaming ‘Romney! Romney!’ and Romney, being the gentleman [he is], we can‘t get in his head because he’s so stinking nice, he stopped us to add ‘Romney-Ryan.’”

“And if you watch the clip again, Ryan throws up his hand like ‘oh, you don’t have to add me to the chant,’” she adds.

Another attendee, Michele Jewett, in an email, wrote, “He (Ryan) introduced Governor Romney and handed the microphone to him. Gov. Romney said, ‘What about that Paul Ryan’ and the crowd immediately started chanting, ‘Romney, Romney‘ not ’Ryan, Ryan’ like the closed captioning on the MSNBC video stated,” she adds.

In fact, what Mitt actually said was, “Let’s try this, Romney/Ryan, Romney/Ryan, I like that better!”

The video in its entirety is so obvious, even the New York Times and Huffington Post had to admit the crowd was chanting Romney, not Ryan.

So what are we to conclude from this? That NBC news has become a campaign arm of the Obama reelection team and will do and say anything to assist?

YEP! Don’t watch them, don’t listen to them, don’t believe a word they say.

Romney Changes Mind, New V.P. Pick Is…

Breaking News! by the Common Constitutionalist

This just in! Mitt Romney changes his mind regarding his choice of running mate. In a sudden turnabout, Romney turns his whole campaign on its head.

Paul Ryan is out. Romney said to an anonymous source, he wanted to go in another direction. He claimed to the source, he wanted to get away from the conservative policy man.

His new choice. Jesus Christ.

And not even a Power Tie

Immediately, the democrats sprang to action, with attack ads and pundits flooding the talk circuit. It’s as if they were tipped off prior to the announcement.

The first ad to hit network TV was of Mr. Christ pushing an old woman in a wheel chair over a cliff. When asked, Debbie Blabbermouth Shultz said she was unaware of any ties between the Obama White House and the Superpac that produced the ad. The Superpac claiming responsibility for the ad is relatively new. Not much is known of it.  It does have a fairly lengthy name, so as do most of them , it has an acronym; WNPOAWPac. It evidently stands for, We are Not Part of the Obama Administration – We Promise.

A panel on MSNBC was convened in short order. Chris Matthews emphatically refuted the republican claims that the selection could cement the ticket thus saving the nation from almost certain destruction. Matthews was unconvinced, stating that there was only one true savior of mankind and he was already in the White house. If you looked closely, during that segment, it appeared Matthews leg actually shivered.

David Axelrod appeared on CNN carrying a fish and a loaf of bread. He publicly challenged the new VP selection to, “Go ahead, feed the masses. I dare you to try without the assistance of the Farm Bill that your party has held up in congress.”

Late Saturday on NBC news, Andrea Mitchell interviewed Joe Septic, a man who claimed Jesus Christ willingly and with malice, ruined his life. He stated that years ago he suffered from post traumatic stress. Joe stated, “It was severely debilitating and I was unable to function outside the home.”  “From the war?”, asked Andrea. “No, Burger King, replied Mr. Septic. ” You see… this is really hard to relive.” “Take your time, added Andrea. Joe continued, “You see, years back I ordered a double cheeseburger, small fry and a vanilla shake. I picked up my order at the drive through and drove away. It seems they gave me a chocolate shake instead. I called 911. By the time the first responders arrived on the scene, it was too late. The damage to my mind had already been done.”

A few years later an acquaintance dragged Joe to an event with a relatively unknown motivational speaker. It turned out to be the new VP candidate, Jesus Christ. After the speech, Jesus went out into the crowd to interact with the attendees. Septic said, “Jesus approached me and laid his hand on my head saying he would make me whole again. I never asked him to do it. He just did it. As he walked away, my sanity returned.” Andrea said, ” And you never even asked him? How awful for you. And how did this encountered negatively affect you?” “Well, Ms. Mitchell, I lost all my government benefits and was forced to find a…a….a job.”  Joe added, “I do not think Mr. Christ realizes what he did to me. Furthermore, I do not think Jesus Christ was concerned.”

Andrea Mitchell, known in some circles to be a woman, later reported that Romney’s pick of Jesus was a vote against all suburban moms.  “I think that you’re going to see that they’ve decided that this is a base election. This is not a pick for suburban moms. This is not a pick for women. This is a pick for the base.” Evidently, this Jesus fellow is a pro-lifer.

So there you have it. A move sure to shake things up & according to the media, allow Obama to sail into a second term. For, of course, who in their right (or left) mind would vote for such a ticket.

NBC Caught Again

If your a regular reader you know I’m not a big fan of Mitt Romney. If you’re a new reader; I’m not a big fan of Mitt Romney. I will be voting for him and I will encourage people to do the same.

That being said, I would like to say I am apalled at the latest incident regarding the mainstream media, particulary NBC, but I’m not. It is well known that the mainstream media are in the tank for for Obama.  NBC is the worst offender. They are just dirtbags. I am convinced they will stop at nothing to get Obama reelected. This video evidence is worse than the Zimmerman edited video that got a few people fired.

Transcript from Rush Limbaugh’s Radio program:

Trayvon Martin had drugs in his system. This is turning out to be the Duke lacrosse case all over again. Trayvon Martin, 17-year-old who was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, had the drug THC in his system the night of his death. That’s the primary ingredient in marijuana. The revelation came as prosecutors in the case prepared to release to the public hundreds of pages of new evidence along with videos and crime scene photos. None of this information was in the charging affidavit, none of it. The charging affidavit contained only the fact that Zimmerman went out there and profiled Trayvon Martin.

Even now, even now NBC News — and we can never forget what they did — NBC News doctored the 911 tape of Zimmerman’s call to the cops to make it look like Zimmerman was profiling and was a racist and was only chasing Trayvon Martin because he was a black guy. They totally doctored that tape. The person that doctored it supposedly has been fired. Two other people at NBC were fired shortly afterwards. We don’t know who the original editor was that was canned. They haven’t identified by name, but they’ve told us the person has been fired. The tape was doctored on two separate occasions, and even after all of that, what I said earlier about you can’t humiliate the media, NBC News had a story this week in which they referred to George Zimmerman as a white man with Hispanic heritage.

After all of the so-called embarrassment and humiliation that they should have felt and suffered over the journalistically criminal doctoring of the 911 tape, they didn’t just leave something out of it. They put it in a different order. They made it sound like Zimmerman said something that he didn’t say. He only identified Trayvon Martin as black after he was asked to by the dispatcher. He did not volunteer the information. The NBC edited version of the tape makes it look like that’s the first thing that Zimmerman told him when he made the 911 call. The New York Times was the first to run the story that Zimmerman was a white Hispanic. It was the fifth time in the history of the New York Times anybody could find where they had done that.

But NBC this week referred to Zimmerman as a white man with Hispanic heritage. Even after all of this new evidence is coming out that Zimmerman was literally beat up, that Trayvon Martin had bruises on his knuckles, eyewitnesses now and a cop documenting Zimmerman’s story almost step by step. This case is falling apart. Now Trayvon Martin, THC was found in his blood and urine. This is another thing. The autopsy showed that Zimmerman shot Martin from a distance of between one inch and 18 inches away, which bolsters Zimmerman’s claim that he shot Martin during a struggle. Everybody else, the media, tried to make it look like Trayvon Martin was shot in cold blood by George Zimmerman, who was chasing after him and shot him from a distance without any provocation. And none of that was true. None of the way the story was originally reported, very little of it, was true. Just like the Duke lacrosse case.

So now, in the New York Daily News today is a column by Alan Dershowitz of Harvard Law. The headline says it all: “Drop George Zimmerman’s Murder Charge.” According to this column by Dershowitz, this new evidence is proof positive — well, not proof positive, but highly likely here that George Zimmerman did indeed, as he said, acted in self-defense.

“A medical report by George Zimmerman’s doctor has disclosed that Zimmerman had a fractured nose, two black eyes, two lacerations on the back of his head and a back injury on the day after the fatal shooting. If this evidence turns out to be valid, the prosecutor will have no choice but to drop the second-degree murder charge against Zimmerman — if she wants to act ethically, lawfully and professionally. There is, of course, no assurance that the special prosecutor handling the case, State Attorney Angela Corey, will do the right thing. Because until now, her actions have been anything but ethical, lawful and professional.”

That’s Dershowitz, Harvard Law, a liberal, writing about a state attorney up in Jacksonville. I fully expect the Jacksonville affiliate, WOKV, to call the state attorney now, ask them what they think of what Limbaugh said about what Dershowitz said.

NBC News, by the way, also claimed in their story after the autopsy was revealed, the detailed autopsy report, NBC claimed that Trayvon Martin was shot at intermediate range, not close range. I don’t know the official term is close range, but the distance was between one and 18 inches. I don’t know what the legal term for that distance is and I don’t know what the distance for intermediate range is, but NBC is attempting to imply that Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin from quite a ways away. Honestly, I don’t know what’s happened to this network. It’s not just MSNBC that’s gone over the cliff. The parent network, NBC, has as well. There’s no pretense anymore.

Even after the 911 tapes were doctored, even after they fired three people involved in that, supposedly, they still describe Zimmerman as a white man with Hispanic heritage, in order to carry the racist template forward, that this was a crime that occurred only because a white guy saw a black guy wearing a hoodie in his neighborhood and doesn’t like black guys in his neighborhood so, pow. That’s what NBC wants its readers and viewers to believe happened, when it didn’t. They know it didn’t. Yet it doesn’t matter.
