I know I may tick some people off with this post, so before I begin I’d like to remind everyone that there are no sacred cows when it comes to the defense of this country or the Constitution, and its ideals and values. I mean no person or organization. In other words – don’t shoot the messenger.
If I’m wrong about something, or appear to be shielding or wrongly defending someone, some group or organization, I would hope someone would
call me out and set me straight, or at least present another point of view.
I say this because I’m going to continue what Glenn Beck began yesterday – by calling out the NRA over their association with Grover Norquist.
Now, some might say – oh no, not Glenn Beck. He’s a crazy religious zealot. Well, some might say that, but if he’s right about something, why does it matter. If it were Joe Biden or Nancy Pelosi standing up for what is right, it still would not change my position.
I’ve been a proud member of the NRA for years and have defended them several times through various articles. They are the number one defender of the Second Amendment and I feel quite certain we are all better off because they are around. Without their support of our God given right to keep and bear arms, we might look like most of Europe by now.
But then I heard this just yesterday – that Grover Norquist is up for re-election to the board of directors of the National Rifle Association. My first thought was why he is on the board to begin with. How did he land there in the first place? My second was – okay, he’s there but maybe they can rectify their error, unless no one has looked into Grover’s background or affiliations, which appears to be evident, for if they had they should want nothing to do with him. read more
