Unleash the Real First Responders

Here we are in the aftermath of yet another mass shooting in America and the left can’t wait to pounce. As if it were scripted (and of course it wasn’t), a deranged white boy guns down a group of innocents in possibly the nation’s most historic black church.

Enter our dear leader, Obama, right on cue, to once again make this tragedy into an anti-gun rally. Yet, just as he did in the Cambridge police incident  , he begins his tired diatribe by admitting he doesn’t know all the facts of the case, but let’s get rid of all the guns anyway. That will solve the problem. Sure, he didn’t come out and say it, but everyone knows where he stands on the issue.

He also wrongly stated that these mass shootings happen more often in America than anywhere else. This is a patently false statement as he probably knows. Incidences of mass shootings/killings happen everywhere and invariably in gun free countries or gun free zones.

Apparently this bowl-headed little dirt bag had only a 45 caliber semi-auto pistol with the standard clip holding maybe 7 to 10 rounds. Reports are that he may have reloaded up to five times. read more

Armed Citizens Do Save Lives

Recently Garen Wintemute, director of the UC Davis Violence Prevention Research Program, was quoted saying: “I think most people don’t want to be in a society where people have arms everywhere, particularly since there is no evidence that being armed is a benefit.”

Well, possibly to the surprise of some, I agree with Mr. Wintemute – that is, I agree with half his statement.

I too, as most Americans certainly would, prefer a country where no one has the need or even desire to arm themselves – beyond weapons for hunting. That would be wonderful and there is a place that has achieved this level of civility, peace and love for one another.

It’s called Heaven and its inhabitants are angels.

Unfortunately, this isn’t heaven, and none of us are angels, so we do what we must to try to assure that our loved ones and neighbors don’t get there prematurely. read more
