Enough with the Recusals – Republicans Need to Fight Back

Here we go again – Republicans shooting themselves in the foot so as to not look bad or appear guilty by association. Even when there is no association.

First Attorney General Jeff Sessions, one the most honest and well-respected members of the Senate, recuses himself over absolutely nothing.

On March 2, 2017, AG Sessions proclaimed that he “never had meetings with Russian operatives or Russian intermediaries about the Trump campaign. And the idea that I was part of ‘a continuing exchange of information’ during the campaign between Trump surrogates and intermediaries for the Russian government is totally false.”

In other words, Sessions did absolutely nothing wrong. As a Senator, he met with the Russian ambassador, as he had met with many other nations’ ambassadors.

Sessions said that his staff advised him that since he was involved with the campaign, he shouldn’t be involved in any campaign investigation. He then said he recused himself in “any matters that deal with the Trump campaign.” read more

Podcast – The Dirty Dems vs Jeff Sessions – Stop Listening to Ivanka

The democrats, led by the despicable Chuckie Schumer are pulling out all the stops, doing everything they can to disrupt President Trump, his Cabinet and his agenda. Senate Minority Leader Schumer has called for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign – and anything less will be unacceptable to him and the rest of radicals in the party – which is all of them. They need to be stopped.

President Trump would be wise to stop listening to his daughter Ivanka. She is battling with Senior Adviser Steve Bannon over global warming. Bannon wants Trump to dump the Paris Climate agreement, while Ivanka and her hubby Jared Kushner want daddy to drop his opposition to the agreement. read more

Two Senators Have a Problem with Tillerson, but not Hillary Clinton or John Kerry

So far Donald Trump’s picks for various Cabinet positions have not gone swimmingly. Both Attorney General nominee Jeff Sessions and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson have been grilled thus far.

Now, we would expect democrats to make a fuss, despite their inability to really affect the outcome of any of the confirmations. Heck, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, democrat hack and race hustler, even made history by attempting to dress down fellow Senator Sessions. But of course this was all a show for the TV cameras, as Booker is actually auditioning to be the next Obama, knowing that Obama gained national exposure for his keynote address at the 2004 Democrat National Convention. Obama was a nobody prior to that. After his performance, Booker is still a nobody.

What isn’t typical are two Republicans Senators openly stating that they are not only concerned with Tillerson and his ties with Russia, but can’t say whether they will vote for Trump’s Secretary of State selection.

On Wednesday, Rubio said he’s “prepared to what’s right,” regarding his confirmation vote. This sounds to me, at least for now, that “what’s right” is a no vote on Tillerson. read more

Democrats to Republicans – What’s Your Hurry?

Here in what is rapidly becoming the socialist State of New Hampshire, our two radical leftist Senators are complaining about the confirmation process of president elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees.

We hear the typical rhetoric about the extreme nature of Trump’s selections – the racist, the climate change deniers, the Putin sycophants. Naturally these are the claimed arguments against the likes of many, but the two senators are also whining about the speed at which these confirmations are happening.

NH1.com reported  that, “on the eve of a confirmation hearing frenzy in the nation’s capital, New Hampshire’s senior U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen warned that ‘the Republican leadership is talking about asking us to act on nominees who have not been through the vetting process.’”

“And in a joint-interview with NH1 News, the Granite State’s newest senator and fellow Democrat [hack] Maggie Hassan said that ‘we don’t have basic information’ on President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees, adding that it ‘is absolutely essential that we have time to thoroughly vet these nominees.’”

Really – you don’t have time to thoroughly vet even the first two nominees, Senator Jeff Sessions and Marine General John F. Kelly. read more

The Left is Already in Melt Down Over Trump – Ain’t It Grand

He still has 10 days before taking office, but I’m liking Donald Trump already.

Oh, it has nothing to do with policy. We don’t really know what Trump’s policies will look like. Many think they know by the campaign and post-election speeches given by him and his “people.” However, no one as yet really knows what President The Donald will do or how he will govern.

The reason I’m liking Trump is his ability to drive the left into full blown melt-down by barely lifting a finger.

Leftist websites are already in panic mode and “overrated” Hollywood stars are soiling their awards with their own tears. To hear them lament, we should expect the Trump presidency to be a combination of Jim Crow, Apartheid, Soviet Gulags and capitalist robber-barons.

Unlike some on the right who were willing to give Obama a chance (count me as NOT one of them), the left has preemptively condemned everything Trump, as well as everything Republican.

We’ve all seen or heard the now famous speech given by the hopelessly overrated actress Meryl Streep, but what you may have missed is another actress, seen on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards. read more

Same Old Lies Emerge Regarding Jeff Sessions

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Any reasonable individual would consider Senator Jeff Sessions to be a good man and a defender of the Constitution. However, the left is hardly reasonable and has already vowed to make it difficult for him to be confirmed as the next U.S. Attorney General.

I have no doubt that they will play the card which has been successful in the past – the race card. This is of course is their go-to attack against any Republican or conservative they find distasteful – which is all of them.

We should prepare ourselves for the attacks by democrats Senators and their stenographers in the press to dredge up all the old lies and accusations from Sessions’ past confirmation hearing in 1986 when he was nominated, but denied, a federal judgeship.

The leftist press, with fresh marching orders from the dems, is already working overtime to reintroduce the racist Sessions to the people and other lawmakers too young to remember what a terrible person he was and must still be. read more

We Talk – They Do

By: the Common Constitutionalist

Is it any wonder why we conservative republicans are so frustrated with politics in general and Washington specifically? All we hear from our national representatives are hollow promises, tough talk and then the inevitable excuse as to why they are unable to act.

It’s all well and good to lodge complaints squarely at the democrats. Lord knows they deserve it, but by now we should all understand there is no Sessionschanging them. With each passing year they lurch further to the left – far beyond the point of reason and no return.

So understanding that, we must rely on our Republican representatives to push back and hold the line, sometimes regardless of the perceived cost. I say perceived because the actual cost Republicans ever pay at the ballot box is never as great as the talking heads try to convince us it will be, and lately has been just the opposite (ie: winning elections post-government shutdowns or sequestration).

The latest iteration of that republican “tough talk” is Alabamy Senator Jeff Sessions’ grilling of the inept EPA chief watermelon (green on the outside – red on the inside) Gina McCarthy. Sessions was tough as nails and did everything but call her a liar. He looked dumbfounded that she could not, or would not answer a single question. Ms. McCarthy had the typical air of superiority and petulance we’ve come to know from this entire administration. She seemed uninterested and frankly agitated that she even had to be there. It was a pleasure to watch Sessions dismantle her. read more
