Video Podcast – Transgenders in the Military

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

As an Originalist Constitutional conservative, I try to live my life by the Jeffersonian creed, “If it neither breaks my leg nor picks my pocket, what difference is it to me!”

In other words, regarding this podcast, I don’t give a crap what your sexual orientation is, or which one of 500 genders you currently are, as long as it doesn’t interfere with my life or cost me anything.

And someone being gay, bi, trans, whatever, doesn’t affect my life in any way, negatively or positively. So what the heck do I care. No one should. Just don’t ask me to pay for your operations or treatments. And don’t demand that I celebrate your lifestyle, when I don’t. I’m agnostic about these issues. I just don’t care enough to demonstrate for or against it.

However, the members of the military are affected by such things. In this podcast I explain why, and why these types of “distractions” can have a negative affect on the cohesiveness of the unit. read more

Podcast – Jeb Loses a Mega Donor – Children’s Book Pulled From Book Fair

In this episode I discuss the further implosion of Jeb Bush, as his campaign appears to be sinking fast. A huge money donor has pulled his support for poor old Jeb and will now back Marco Rubio.

The Superintendent of Arborwood Elementary School did the right thing by pulling a book from a child book fair, after consulting with a Parent-Teacher group, over potentially offensive material. read more

Is the Pope, like Barack, Trying to Change Tradition and History?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

What would you think if Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and former President Jimmy Carter all came out and proclaimed their love for Ted Cruz? Would you think – Wow – three out-of-control leftists love Ted Cruz. Maybe they’ve seen the light? That’s great news! They must’ve seen the error of their ways and come over to our side.

Of course not! These three are committed leftists. What you should be thinking is what the heck happened to the poster boy of conservatism, Cruz.

So when we see Jane Fonda, Jim Carrey, Bill Maher, Russell Crowe and John Stewart tweeting that you, “Gotta love new Pope – He cares about the poor – Unlike U.S. Congress…,” or, “He’s changing the tone of the way you regard the Pope,” or, “That’s it – I’m converting – I love this guy,” you have to know these people are not going to convert to Catholicism. We also must conclude there is something not quite right (literally) with Pope Francis.

None of these lefties have seen the light and suddenly found religion, so it leaves us with but one sad conclusion. The Pope is no conservative – and I don’t mean politically.

Yet we can’t put politics aside when the leader of the Catholic Church is a redistributionist and a global warming nut. I’m sorry to all you Catholics, but facts are facts. I know this will not win me many friends, but you have to admit – there is something not quite right.

Now, not being a Catholic, I cannot speak to the tenets of the religion, but it certainly appears to me that Pope Francis is treating Catholic traditions and doctrine the way Obama treats our Constitution and laws. He appears to just be making wholesale changes to centuries of tradition. To what end, I do not know. read more

Already Tired of Bruce Jenner

By: the Common Constitutionalist

Everyone’s talking about it. There doesn’t appear to be anywhere one can go to escape hearing about the weird world of Bruce Jenner.

Let me first get this out of the way. Yes, I understand that the athlete formally known as Bruce Jenner now calls himself Caitlyn, but that doesn’t make him a chick. Sorry. He can cut off whatever he feels is necessary, remove his Adam’s apple (if that’s possible) and have plastic surgery until the cows come home. He can pump himself full of hormones and what ever else, but that still won’t make him a woman. He’s a dude, and that’s that.

He may choose to call himself a transsexual or transgendered or a member of the trans-Siberian Orchestra, but it doesn’t make him a woman. And we certainly don’t need to accept that this is some sort of new age evolution.

Now, personally I couldn’t possibly care less about what Jenner does, but I’m sure as heck not going to celebrate it. I’m also not going to accept being categorized as some caveman for not joining in the enlightened fawning over this oddity.

And this is the way it always works. A tiny segment of our population pushes an agenda of acceptance of ever more odd behavior as some “new normal.” It started with feminists, then moved on to homosexuals and has now gone off the tracks with more categories than anyone could name. read more

Sticks, Stones and Name-Calling

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Sticks and stones can indeed break my bones, but names can scar me for life, or get me a 15 yard penalty. Is that how the new version of the old saying goes?

I don’t know about you, but I’d rather be called a name then be hit with a stick or have a stone thrown at me.

But then again, unlike Steve Martin in “The Jerk”, I was not born a poor black child. I’m all white with a little redneck thrown in.

So as a white guy “they”, the word police, tell me I am not allowed to utter certain words. Words like nigger, chink, fag, etc.

Oh no. He wrote that word! Yes; as offensive as it is, that’s the word.

Question is: Why would anyone use these vile terms at all? I’m offended by them. I can see why others would be. But I also have no right in this country not to be offended. Yet many minority groups believe they do. And liberals in our society feed off and promote it. They thrive on our division. read more

Did Mickey Mouse Have Two Daddies?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

And so the saying goes; Get them early and you’ve got them hooked. It applies to virtually everything in life. Eating habits, alcohol, drugs and behavior.

Radical Islam learned long ago to teach their youth to hate the Jews. North Korea teaches their young to shun the evils of capitalism.

And here in America our youth is being taught to not only be tolerant of homosexuality but to celebrate it, evidently.

Now, like in the movie, The Matrix, I feel as agent Smith did when he exclaimed that he “feels saturated by it”.

It’s only just begun and already I’m sick of hearing and seeing it.

First came the introduction of homosexuals in the movies, then on to adult oriented television programs. There are children’s book like Heather has 2 mommies and Franky  has 2 daddies, 3 mommies and a penguin, or something like that. There is a concentrated effort in the entertainment industry to literally ram the subject down our throats until we finally say uncle – we give up – you win – all behavior is the same.

Then, of course, they will move on to whatever other behavior us rubes in “fly over country” find even remotely objectionable and ramp up the behavior modification again.

So, when I saw that the Disney Channel introduced a lesbian couple on the kids show, “Good Luck Charlie”, I’d like to say I was surprised. I’d like to say that, but I’m not and you shouldn’t be either. It was just a matter of time. ” Now children – go tell your parents you want to be a homosexual”. read more

No Queer Eye for the Duck Guy

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Could this mark the end of Duck Dynasty?

For those who are unaware, Duck Dynasty is a TV program aired on the A&E cable network. It chronicles the everyday lives of the Robertson family of Louisiana. They turned the production of the simple “Duck Call” into a multimillion-dollar enterprise.

This show is like a redneck reality Seinfeld. It’s really about nothing, but it is entertaining and has smashed all sorts of records for viewing audience. It’s a huge hit. I personally enjoy it.

Now, as you may be aware, Phil Robertson, in his late 60s, is the patriarch of the family and the founder of “Duck Commander”, the name of the duck call company.

Watching the show, one soon realizes, these are real people – not actors. As such, they will and do speak their minds. read more
