Santa – Bring Me an Assault Rifle Before the Democrats Ban Them

A prologue from Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

If you’re a second amendment guy or gal, a hunter whose choice is a semi-automatic rifle instead of a bolt action, or just a gun enthusiast, you may wish to add something to your Christmas list this year.

Being that Santa Claus is most likely still coming to town – the dems haven’t taken over yet – you may want him to put an “assault” rifle under the Christmas tree, while he still can.

I have. Hopefully he’ll me bring the scary black, short barrel carbine on my list. I’ve been a good boy this year Santa. Oh please, oh please.

But why the urgency? Why is it imperative for Santa to come through this Christmas morning?

Well, it’s because the democrats are also coming to town. And unlike Santa, these leftists aren’t bringing joy to all the little girls and boys – or Moms and Dads, or any reasonable Americans.

For one of gifts they plan to give to the American people is a plan to enact shining new gun control legislation after they take over in 2019.

Weapons Ban Didn’t Work Last Time

from IBD:

We Banned Assault Weapons Before … And It Didn’t Work

Maybe they are too young to know, or have faulty memories, but whatever the reason, all those pushing for a ban on “assault weapons” in the wake of the Florida school shooting ignore the fact that the last time the country imposed such a ban it failed to make a measurable difference.

Gun control advocates were ecstatic when President Trump appeared to support a ban on “semi-automatic assault weapons.” The White House later issued a statement that he still opposes a ban.

Nevertheless, Democrats have already introduced two bills that would outlaw the sale of weapons like the AR-15, based mainly on various cosmetic features of the guns, and limit the size of magazines allowed. And the press has been playing up the issue with relentless fervor. read more

Is This How Freedom Dies

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

What we witnessed the other night at the CNN Town Hall was the cancer of leftist authoritarianism, as it slowly begins to consume and kill off everything it contacts. And this is how freedom and liberty may die – to the accompaniment of thunderous applause of ignorant masses, being manipulated and pandered to by opportunists.

It was a dreadful sight. One of which we should all take heed, for this one event may become the springboard or catalyst for the outlawing of firearms, which of course is merely the first step in the loss of additional freedoms.

However, we can’t blame our youth, or even the families of the fallen and injured. They’re hurting and will understandably lash out and demand action. We get that. But the Constitution can’t defend itself against such an onslaught of raw human emotion. It takes people to come to its defense. It takes people who recognize that bad law is worse than none at all – that nothing in the Constitution can ever be compromised away, and are strong enough to suffer the slings and arrows of the emotionally distressed. read more

A Federal Judge Actually Understands the Second Amendment

from The American Thinker:

A federal judge in San Diego has issued a temporary stay against a new California law that bans high-capacity magazines.

U.S. district judge Roger Benitez issued the preliminary injunction against the voter-approved law, writing that the law is likely to be unconstitutional because it prevents citizens from purchasing “whatever common magazine size [they judge] best suits the situation.” read more

Demand A Plan To End Lunacy

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Imagine you are speaking to a friend. He claims his kids are straight ‘A’ students. The reason they are is that he has developed a system that guarantees better grades. No matter what the situation, he can better anyones grades.

Your logical reaction to such a claim is, “show me the proof”. Don’t just throw out these wild claims. Show me what your children’s grades were prior and what they are now. Then show me that it was your system that caused the positive change.

It seems reasonable for him to have to prove his system is a success, is it not? You wouldn’t just sign your children on without some proof, would you?

So why is it that we don’t view gun control in the same way? There is not a shred of evidence that disarming citizens makes us safer, yet the left has been clamoring to do just that.

There are organizations like Demand Action.org, who’s slogan is Demand Action to End Gun Violence”.

They want us all to “Join more than 1,000 mayors and over 1.5 million grassroots supporters to demand that Congress take action to end gun violence“. read more

The Left’s Double Standard

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Do you remember this photo?
Shawn Moore

The proud young man in this photo is the son of New Jersey resident Shawn Moore. Does this rifle look familiar? You’re right; it’s that scary AR-15. Well, not quite. It’s a copy and it’s 22 caliber. Not exactly harmless, but hardly a fearful military firearm or even a proper self-defense weapon. Not quite the weapon of choice for an anarchist, or one who wishes to start his own war, unless it’s against an army of squirrels, rodents or birds.

And do you recall how the photo was received? Some busybody who had nothing better to worry about called the authorities, the New Jersey Department of Youth and Family Services (DYFS).

Two DYFS agents along with four police officers showed up at the Moore home. They said they were responding to an anonymous tip regarding a youngster holding a weapon. Oh the horror!

They entered the home without a search warrant and demanded the family gun safe be open so that they may catalog and affirm that the weapons be registered, despite New Jersey not requiring firearm registration.

Now fast-forward to a new set of Public Service Announcements (PSA) from a newly formed group of moms that care more about your children than you do. They call themselves “Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America”. Evidently this group was needed, for we plebes evidently have no gun sense. Whatever that is.

The PSAs compare seemingly harmless objects that are currently banned, to guns that are not.

Below is a shot (pardon the pun) of one of the PSA’s showing one child holding a Nestlé’s Kinder egg that was banned and the other holding a big scary gun. It claims: “We don’t sell Kinder eggs in the interest of child safety. Why not assault weapons.”

PSA3

The next ad shows two little girls. One holding up a copy of Little Red Riding Hood that was banned in some California districts due to Red carrying some wine in a basket for Grandma (the lush). And of course a big scary gun that is not banned.

The third is of two boys. One with a dodgeball and predictably, the other with… You guessed it… A scary gun.

PSA1

Dodgeball as I reported months ago was banned in a town in New Hampshire. Maybe now they play war games with their “assault weapons” instead of throwing rubber balls at each other.

Is this not a shining example of the double standard that the nanny left always utilizes?

Any time anyone on the right shows a child doing something that doesn’t meet with the left’s approval, they cry exploitation. How dare we use children to promote this or that! Never mind that Mr. Moore wasn’t promoting any agenda. The next step of the left is the attempt to shut it down. They cannot just agree to disagree.

But yet no one says “boo” to these ill-informed moronic moms that exploit these children for their own misguided purpose.

If I recall, did not some TV show host almost get arrested for simply showing a gun on the air not too long ago? But will anything happen to this dopey group of leftist mothers? Of course not! There will be no calls to pull the ads!

Classic double standard!

DiFi Demonstrates Her Brilliance

Dianne Feinstein: Assault Weapons Like Child Pornography

The Senate Judiciary Committee passed Feinstein’s gun-grabbing bill that bans over 150 different types of guns, but it didn’t pass without a fight from Republicans. Ted Cruz grilled Feinstein on the Constitutionality of her gun ban, reminding her that the same “right of the people” applies equally to the 2nd Amendment as it does to the 1st and 4th Amendments.

He asked her if she thought it within the purview of the federal government to ban certain books because it didn’t like them (in violation of the 1st) or claim that certain citizens are not protected against unlawful searches and seizures (in violation of the 4th). After all, he contended, this is what she and her Democrat team are doing with the 2nd Amendment and semi-automatic weapons. They’ve simply deemed those firearms “assault” weapons and have arbitrarily decided that they are scarier than other guns for the time being, and because of that, they can be legally banned.  Continue Reading

Gun Ban, A Grand Conspiracy

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I was never much of a conspiracy buff. Those who believe there is a centralized power such as the Bilderbergs, controlling the world or secretly planning a one-world government, I thought to be kooks.

grand conspiracyI’ve always concluded that people of similar beliefs just think the same, thus come up with the same ideas independent of one another, but just appear contrived because the outcome of those ideas were analogous. I didn’t buy the notion of a bunch of bureaucrats sitting in some dimly lit antechamber plotting away, “Now your assignment is to call the senator and convince him to propose something and you call that Governor and insist he proposes something else.”

Well, I’ve begun to rethink my position and may be completely wrong but it sure seems like it could be happening just that way.

The feds know and have tried to put forth anti-gun legislation in both the House and Senate and gotten nowhere. To any progressive, this is unacceptable. It however, w1.6 billion bulletsill not deter the Marxists from attempting to control and eventually take our guns. There is always a back door, either through regulation or other means.

There’ve been many articles written about various departments of the federal government buying up billions of rounds of ammunition. Heck, I’ve published a few myself.

The latest is the 1.6 billion-ammunition purchase by Homeland Security over the next 4 to 5 years. The feds call it “Strategic Sourcing Contracts” and it is said to get them a better price, which I’m sure it does. Odd that the purchasing contract directly coincides with Obama’s second term of four years. I’m just saying.

Anyway, Homeland Security uses about 15 million rounds of ammo every year. Let’s do some quick math. 1.6 billion divided by 15 million equals a little more than 106. So Homeland wants to buy 106 years worth of ammo? That sounds reasonable.

Now, I’m a gun owner. I don’t know about you but I’m finding it increasingly difficult to purchase ammunition. Going to any local gun shop is a joke. Their shelves look like Mother Hubbard’s cupboard. Online imagazinessn’t much better. Everything is out of stock. How odd.

Companies that produce ammunition must follow a pecking order of customers. Guess who is the head pecker, as it were? You got it; the federal government. What a great way to usurp gun control legislation. With the feds buying up all the ammo a lot of good your gun will be without it. Voilà; instant gun, or ammo control.

States across the country have been testing the waters by passing numerous gun bans. The latest is the proposal in Colorado to ban high-capacity magazines. Citizens of the state are just figuring out that due to the wording of the bill, the run-of-the-mill pump action shotgun would be deemed illegal

Then there is Democrat Illinois representative, Luis Gutierrez. He is changing things up a bit. Instead of going after those scary and expensive “assault weapons”, he is proposing a ban on the production of inexpensive lower quality handguns, known to some as “Saturday night specials”. Now I haven’t seen the bill yet, but I can bet it is aimed directly at less expensive handguns, the kind that someone on a budget might only be able to afford; someone who doesn’t have $800-$1000 to spend for personal protection. I guess they’ll just have to call 911 and wait.zero-tolerance

It’s becoming apparent that one way or the other, the full spectrum of weapons will be covered. That’s the hardware portion of gun control. The software ban is in the conditioning of the population, or the collective.

We are hearing stories virtually every day of one child after another being suspended or somehow reprimanded for the most ridiculously innocent things, from eating a Pop Tart into the shape of an “L” and pretending it’s a gun, or a picture of a gun or a cut up piece of paper that vaguely resembles one.

From prekindergarten through college our children are being conditioned to have a completely illogical fear of guns. They are being taught that guns can’t protect or defend; they can only do harm.

Children and adults alike are being conditioned and trained into believing it is wrong to fight back. We must cower and wait for the “First Responders” to come save us. Young women are being told that it is better to be raped than protect themselves with a gun.

The brave high schooler that wrestled a gun away from another student gets suspended when he should receive a medal. See, he didn’t wait for “Capt. Planet”, the first responder to save the day. I was going to say Capt. America but that would be jingoistic. That young man took it upon himself and that just won’t do. I bet he’ll think twice before rescuing his fellow man captain planetand next time leave it to the professionals the way it is intended in the collective.

Maybe that’s what Obama meant when in 2008 he said, “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” Could it be that’s what Homeland needs those 1.6 billion rounds for?

We are being assimilated into the progressive’s idea of a peaceful utopia. I for one will not succumb because I know it can’t be done. This attempt, if allowed to continue, like every other time before it, will end badly.

Gun Grab Caused by Newtown Shooting?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Dr. H. Wayne Carver, the medical examiner investigating the December 14, 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School, said autopsies completed on 20 children and six adults on Saturday showed they were killed with multiple bullets fired by a rifle at close range.

“I’ve been at this for a third of a century and my sensibilities may not be those of the average man, but this probably is the worst I have seen or the worst that I know of any of my colleagues have seen,” Carver told reporters gathered at Treadwell Park, less than a mile from the school where the shooting occurred.

The veteran medical examiner told reporters that the victims had all been identified and their bodies released. Carver appeared to be very uncomfortable during his news conference, complete with conspicuously nervous laughter throughout.  It was a rather odd and macabre display of callousness; down right creepy, if you ask me.

He said all of the victims he had examined had all been shot by a Bushmaster .223 caliber assault rifle, one of at least two weapons Adam Lanza, the 20-year-old suspected shooter, used to commit one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history.

Yet on later that same day, NBC reported that both federal and state officials had confirmed to them that in fact Lanza carried 4 pistols into the school. That, in fact, Lanza left the Bushmaster rifle in his car and didn’t take it into the school.

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

I am not a nutty conspiracy theorist, but something went on here and someone, for some reason, was lying about the weapon or weapons Lanza used to slaughter these kids and their teachers.

Yet, I don’t here a word about this major discrepency of facts. Why not?

If this school was assaulted by Lanza using only handguns, why the sudden hew and cry over the banning of assault weapons?

Is no one else even the slightest bit curious to find the facts in this case, before we go off and start the great American gun grab? Guess not.

Flush With Anti-Gun Bills

With the left looking for its next big cause, Congressional Democrats have latched onto the Sandy Hook massacre as an opportunity to push gun control. Yesterday alone, eight new bills were introduced relating to gun control. Two conservative bills were introduced relating to ending “gun free zones” under federal law.

Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) led the way with four bills introduced. Her husband was shot to death in 1993 and her son was severely injured when Colin Ferguson, a mentally unstable black militant (he spent time in his apartment chanting, “all the black people killing all the white people”), shot up a Long Island commuter train.

She has been a longtime gun control advocate. In 1997, she tried to push a federal law that would have mandated trigger locks on all firearms. She introduced legislation that would have forced gun companies to produce firearms that were “child-resistant.” In 2007, she tried an “assault weapons” ban that would have targeted some 65 types of firearms.

The measures McCarthy introduced include:

  • Significant restrictions on gun show transactions, which would in effect end gun shows;
  • No online purchases of ammunition, and licensing of ammunition dealers, as well as reporting to the federal government all bulk ammunition purchases;
  • Prohibition on the transfer, sale, or possession of ammunition clips beyond a certain size.  Continue Reading
