WND Exclusive – Thank God for the Anti-Federalists

In an Oct. 24, 1787, letter to Thomas Jefferson, James Madison expressed that, “Col. [George] Mason left Philadelphia in an exceeding ill humor indeed. A number of little circumstances arising in part from the impatience which prevailed towards the close of the business, conspired to whet his acrimony. He returned to Virginia with a fixed disposition to prevent the adoption of the plan if possible. He considers the want of a bill of rights as a fatal objection.”

At the Constitutional Convention, in mid-September 1787, committed Anti-Federalists George Mason and Eldridge Gerry failed to persuade any of their fellow delegates to preface the Constitution with a bill of rights.

No Stay of Execution for Alfie

The case of little Alfie Evans is a tragic one. At 23 months old, this healthy boy developed a rare neurodegenerative disorder that left him in a semi-vegetative state. That’s strike one against the poor little tike.

Strike two is that he and his parents reside in England, the poster nation for socialized medicine. And strike three is that, given enough time, every nation with socialized medicine will eventually be forced into the development of death panels.

In England the defacto “death panels” is the British court system. The courts decide who will live and who will die. The courts have decided the latter of the two fates for Alfie. They have condemned him to death with no stay of execution, no pardon and possibility of parole.

This is funny (not ha, ha funny), considering Great Britain has long ago rejected the death penalty for the worst criminals and terrorists among them, but seem to have little problem sending a two year old to death row. read more

In Time There May Be a Place for Us

The world has gone completely mad. Islamists are murdering people on every continent. Some in banking sectors are warning that a global financial meltdown is imminent. And here in America, what could have and should have been the beginning of a political reformation – a referendum against corruption and progressivism instead has us choosing between a crook and a progressive.

As I’ve said many times – no matter how bad things are here, the rest of the world is worse. But maybe not. There actually is a nation who at least appears to want to better itself.

Just when it seems all hope is lost, Great Britain is showing signs of sanity. First came the famous Brexit vote, where English citizens decided they were tired of being ruled by European Union oligarchs in Brussels. read more

Solar Panels Ablaze Prior to Earth Day

by: the Common Constitutionalist

When it’s finally nice enough here in New England, my sons and I are looking forward to hiking again. We’ll go out for hours, sometimes all day and traverse through forests, fields, hills, wherever. We always stop for lunch. Last year I taught them how to make fire – no matches – no lighter.

Making fire is sometimes no easy task, yet I read online that it’s evidently a snap in Great Britain. Just stand next to a British schoolhouse or Town Hall fitted with solar panels and wait for them to spontaneously combust.

You’ll have all the fire you need as the roof is burning out of control. Just make sure your up wind lest you be asphyxiated by the thick black smoke and poisonous chemical fumes. Happy Earth Day!

Breitbart London  wrote on Tuesday that “A large fire occurred yesterday at Hove Town Hall by a faulty solar panel on the roof of the building. No one was hurt. Locals have been quick to take aim at the Green party with jibes over their record in office at Brighton and Hove city council, which owns the building.” read more

America to the United Kingdom – It’s Over

by: the Common Constitutionalist

What do you mean you’re breaking up with me? I thought we had something special? After 200 years, you’re breaking up with me? Yes my dear. But it’s not you, it’s me. No – it’s you.

This weekend the UK Daily Mail  discovered a secret memo prepared by the “Congressional Research Service (CRS), an in-house intelligence body Congressional Research Servicethat gives confidential analysis to legislators…” The memo, dated April 2015 was drafted “to brief the Senate and House of Representatives on the impact of Britain’s general election. The memo also warns that the UK faces turmoil if there is a hung parliament.”

It states “damningly that the UK may not be viewed as centrally relevant to the United States in all of the issues and relations considered a priority on the US agenda,” and that “organizations such as the G20 group of major economies has led to a decline in the influence and centrality of the relationship.”

The CRS also concludes “that while Britain and the US are likely to remain key economic partners, a reassessment of the special relationship may be in order… Because its geopolitical setting has been changing.”

I have to say – this is a rather earthshaking document. Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan will surely be turning in their graves as will Winston Churchill who in a 1944 speech coined the phrase “special relationship” between our two countries. read more

Fox News Emerson is not Such an Idiot

By: the Common Constitutionalist

So Fox News security analyst Security analyst Steven Emerson said last Sunday that “non-Muslims just simply don’t go in” to the city, during a discussion of multiculturalism in Britain after last week’s Paris attacks.

Emerson was speaking of the city of Birmingham England, when he claimed “The whole city is Muslim.” Emerson has been mocked and verbally Emersonattacked mercilessly for his claim.

Prime Minister David Cameron called Emerson a “complete idiot”, for claiming the city is totally Muslim. Emerson has been corrected many times by various left leaning publications and news outlets, saying that Birmingham is only 22% Muslim.

And of course – how could 22% of any city’s population take over the whole thing. That’s just absurd, right?

An interesting side note: In 1933, Hitler’s Nazi party had about 2 million members, a little over 2.5% of the 67 million German population. Sometimes, it doesn’t take many. A small minority of determined radicals can do great and disproportionate damage. Just look at the Obama administration! read more
