Tomi Lahren – Spoiled Millenial

from The Resurgent:

There is a fundamental problem with Tomi Lahren that no one likes to talk about. For those of you who do not know, Lahren is

I Doubt It!

the proudly unread, unnaturally blonde young thang who had a show on The Blaze until she self-immolated on national television in a moment of opportunism that blew up in her face.

But here’s the thing. Just how bad is Tomi Lahren, despite the little cult of personality she has tried to create? She’s this bad: in a show that runs for one hour, people only know about the last two minutes of her show when she gives some scripted monologue.

That’s a real problem. There’s a whole 38 other minutes and she cannot hold it. Somehow she thinks she is entitled to it. She fits every single stereotype of bratty, entitled millennials out there. And, before she deleted them, her tweets from her college days further prove it. read more

Who is America’s Greatest Modern Day President

There have been, and still are, great debates over who is America’s greatest President. Greatness is of course subjective and depending upon ones view point or political bent, the “greatest” can and does vary widely.

Many would agree on George Washington or Abe Lincoln. But what about the greatest modern day President – from say 1900 to today. Narrowing the field brings forth the usual suspects like Franklin Roosevelt, John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan.

Yet practically no one would ever think to include our 30th President even in the top ten. They’d be wrong.

In my opinion Calvin Coolidge, Silent Cal, who served from 1923-1929, was in fact our modern era’s greatest President.

It’s Time to Permanently Limit Immigration…Again

by: the Common Constitutionalist

The left, moderate republicans, and most everyone else are freaking out over President Donald Trump’s Muslim ban, which is anything but a Muslim ban.

Yesterday, Glenn Beck, on his morning radio program, ran through the facts of what Trump actually signed as an Executive order. Beck added that he (like me) is not a fan of Executive Orders. Executive Orders have the air of a monarchy or autocracy and, in my opinion, upsets the balance of power and undercuts republicanism – our system of government – not the Party.

Beck and his on-air colleague Stu did lament that the speed in which the order went into effect took authorities like the TSA almost by surprise, as these agencies were being informed of the order as Trump was signing it.

However it appears that these agencies did a remarkable job of following the order with little warning – so hats off to them. Never thought I’d say that about the TSA, Customs or any other government department.

Outside JFK, thousands gathered to protest. In the midst of the crowd were several individuals from a group called “UNITE 4 PEOPLE” holding up placards, each with an illuminated letter spelling out “NO BAN.” read more

The TPP is the New World Order

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Glenn Beck correctly says that the left, the progressives, have always dreamed of global command and control governance. They first tried it with Woodrow Wilson’s League of Nations, which promptly fell apart. Out of World War II came the United Nations, but over the years it has become discredited and disjointed.

But one thing we know about progressives – they never give up.

Next up for them is the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and its lesser known cousin the US-EU Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). It is estimated that, should it be enacted, the TPP alone will control $27 trillion, or more than 40 percent of the entire world’s GDP.

We all know what the job of Washington lobbyists are. Their entire purpose for being is to purchase favors and loopholes from the government on behalf of the large multi-national corporations they represent. Beck’s team researched TPP and in doing so, they found something astonishing. Over the last eight years of Obama’s reign, lobbyists have taken in $2.6 billion to spread around for their various causes, of which we assume are many. But fully one third of all that money raised has been spent to push pro-TPP interests. Over thirty percent has been consumed by one issue. Wonder why that is?

And why is the TPP such a huge secret? What is in it that they don’t want the public to know – until it’s too late? I’m certain there is plenty – most of which we may never know. Look at the disaster that is Obamacare and what was hidden in its 2,700 pages. The TPP is more than double at 5,544 pages. Oh, and of the 30 chapters of the TPP, only 10 have anything to do with actual trade. That’s odd…for a trade agreement. read more

So It’s Going to be Trump in the End

by: the Common Constitutionalist

From day one I didn’t think Hillary Clinton was going to be the one to represent the Communist, I mean Democrat Party in this upcoming election. I wrote on several occasions that she wouldn’t make it to the finish line – pointing to the fact that virtually everyone – even the dems dislike her. She is also dull and inspires no confidence from her party. Couple that with the animus Barack and Michelle Obama have for her and her husband Bubba. I’m sure it’s likewise for the Clintons. After all, the party threw her overboard for the virtual unknown Obama in 2008.

I thought they would treat her as the republicans, until now, have treated their candidates. Give it to the next man up, unless they find someone better. But I was wrong. Yes it’s technically not over yet, but she has all but wrapped it up. Yet it’s been a tough slog for Clinton, which shows what a pathetically weak candidate she is, losing countless states to an old socialist fossil like Sanders.

I figured by now, Obama would have tired of her and instructed Loretta Lynch to indict her, get her out of the way and promote Biden or someone. I’m frankly surprised at his hands-off approach, keeping his distance. Maybe it’s due to him realizing what a weak bench they have. read more

And Then There Was One

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I am not a #NeverTrump guy. I never have been. I’ve jokingly said things like it, but I was never #NeverTrump. I also said I was never an “Only Cruz” guy. Like Levin, Beck and very few other prominent conservatives, I have become an “Always Constitution” voter. Cruz was our guy because he was the closest we may ever come to “Always Constitution.”

From the start, I didn’t care who the nominee was, as long as they could remain true to the Constitution. I understand being true to the Constitution is impossible today, even for Ted, but if Jeb Bush came out early on and had a provable, demonstrable conversion to constitutional conservatism, I could have just as easily been a Jeb Bush guy. Fat chance of that happening.

This is what many don’t seem to understand, or if they do, they don’t disseminate, either accidentally or purposely. For some #NeverTrump folks I’m sure their opposition is establishment sour grapes, but not for voters like us.

Rush, Sean, virtually the entire Fox News Crew and many other conservatives only characterize #NeverTrump voters as the establishment. You must be one or the other. Very rarely, if ever do they mention real principled constitutionalists as those who cannot and will not pull the lever for The Donald. This is quite frustrating.

I believe I know why they do it. I think it’s a veiled attempt to convince us that to abstain from voting for Trump is a defacto vote for Hillary, thus becoming unwitting stooges for the establishment RINOs. Naturally no conservative wants to be classified as an establishment stooge, so therefore we must get on board the Trump train to prove our anti-establishment bona-fides. read more

Is Glenn Beck the Moses of the Right?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Broadcast pioneer Glenn Beck has done some risky things over the past several years. He left a cushy and high paying position at the Fox News Network. He had a vision of building a better mousetrap. No longer wanting to be encumbered by network politics and such, he left the security (and shackles) of Fox to build The Blaze, which is fast becoming a wholly independent media empire, offering all original content on Radio, TV and the internet.

Not many people would have the guts to attempt such a thing, but Beck appears to be a bit of a visionary in this regard. Now others have followed the path he has mapped, like Newsmax, PJ Media and the latest, Levin TV.

Beck predicted it would be a success and so far, he’s not wrong.

He’s also made plenty of other predictions that, through a combination of tireless research and maybe even some divine guidance, have also come true. In 1999 he told his radio audience that bin Laden would attack America. In 2004 he warned of both the housing bubble and the 2008 banking crisis. That same year he spoke of the Twelve Imam and the rise of the Mahdi in Iran. He was the only talking about it at the time.

He is the first to admit that he’s no good when it comes to timetables – just that these things will occur at some future date, barring substantial change. For this, many have just chalked him up as just that crazy, weepy, religious zealot – that Mormon. read more

Trump Isn’t Wrong On Muslim Immigration

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Another week, another Trumpism. It seems not a week goes by where Trump isn’t blowing up the headlines – and the heads of the left and the establishment right. And on occasion we conservatives feel the need to defend him, or at least his statements.

Of course everyone is speaking of the Trump statement (mostly negatively), now heard round the world that he is calling for “A complete and total shutdown of all Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what’s going…”

One of his supporters, standing in a rather long line at a Trump event in South Carolina was asked by a CNN reporter whether she had a problem with the plan. The supporter said: “That’s a very prudent idea and I think that he’s done due diligence when he makes that statement.” She added that, “We have to protect American citizens and the vetting process lacks integrity.” The reporter then says, although not to the Trump supporter, that, “That’s not true. In fact the vetting process, run through multiple agencies, is vigorous.”

Well, Ms. CNN reporter – that may be true, but whether the “vetting” process is vigorous or not is immaterial. If Muslims coming into the country have no “paper trail,” one could “vet” them until the cows come home and still no nothing about them or their intentions. I do though have a problem with the supporters thought that Trump did his due diligence. No he didn’t. He just blurted it out. At least it appeared that way. But this too is immaterial. It takes no due diligence to know a good portion of these Muslims, certainly the refugees, cannot be vetted and therefore should be denied entry. read more

Glenn Thought Very Little of “Non Stop”

from The Blaze:

Glenn Beck saw the movie “Non-Stop” featuring Liam Neeson on Thursday, and he hated it so much that he spoiled the ending for millions of people on his radio show Friday. He said he hopes that by revealing the ending, listeners have no reason to waste their money on the film.

“It is really great, until you find out that the killer is U.S. military and a guy who believes in the Constitution,” Beck said sarcastically. “Oh, darn it. Did I just wreck that movie for everybody? Oh, I didn’t mean to…”

Beck said the movie, in which Neeson is a federal air marshal trying to catch a murderer on a plane, was so terrible that “even in New York City,” the ending was met with “groans.” read more
