Peace-Loving Communists Attack Conservatives

Southern Protest Pic 1 Cropped

ANTIFA “marks” and attacks CFACT students but fails to stop Lauren Southern talk at U of Minnesota

Lauren Southern talks to a packed room about free speech.

Multiple CFACT students were “marked” and assaulted by masked ANTIFA protesters outside a talk given by Lauren Southern, a conservative and libertarian Canadian political commentator, author, journalist, and Youtube sensation. Southern was hosted by the CFACT club at the University of Minnesota to discuss the evils of socialism and the importance of protecting free speech.

“The protesters started peacefully enough,” remarked Adam Bowen, a junior. “They even had a 4 piece marching band that was actually really good.”

Masked protesters waited, however, until some of the police presence had died down after the talk by Southern concluded. They then proceeded to mark and ambush departing CFACT event organizers. Nathan Amundson and Mitch Bendis, responsible for live streaming the event, were ambushed by a half dozen masked ANTIFA members as they left the venue loaded down with a large and expensive video camera and a box of event supplies. read more

CNN’s Guide to Free Speech

by: the Common Constitutionalist

On the home page of CNN.com is an article, entitled, “The First Amendment doesn’t guarantee you the rights you think it does.”

I thought – okay – its CNN posting something on the Constitution. This has got to be good. And by good, I mean really bad. Virtually the only time the left positively comments on the Constitution, they refer only to the First Amendment, for which they can bend and twist to suit their needs. It’s as if the rest of the Constitution and Bill of Rights does not exist.

The article begins by recounting the entire First Amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances

It’s short, to the point and easy to understand. Apparently it is not, for the author feels obliged to drag out First Amendment expert, Lata Nott, of the Newseum Institute’s First Amendment Center, to explain.

At first blush I thought this a ridiculous notion, but then remembered just who, for the most part, is partaking of the wisdom of CNN – other leftists, who wouldn’t know a Constitution if you handed them one. read more

Podcast – Prisoners Go Out on Strike in Multiple States – Free Speech is Dead on College Campuses

Prisoners of the world unite! Yes, inmates in as many as 40 prisons in 24 states, last Friday began a nationwide (well – kind of) strike. The Union (yes – Union) Organizing Committee stated they are striking to end prison slavery. They are sick and tired of being degraded, dehumanized and exploited. Well, I have a few choice words for the prisoners union.

Freedom of speech is well and truly dead on American college and university campuses as freshman are told what they can and cannot say and what they can and cannot ask of other students. One oppressive and racist example is describing America as the “Land of Opportunity.” I’m not real happy about this either. read more

I Can Breathe – But Mendocino High School Can’t

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Yes, I can breathe, because I am not a lazy out of work, overweight asthmatic with a heart condition (and probably a half a dozen other ailments), selling “loosie” cigarettes to bums on a street corner for couple of bucks.

And let’s not forget that Eric Garner had been told several times previous by police not to sell his individual cigarettes and that the police were dispatched due to complaints by local businesses.

can't breatheNow all that aside, as others and I have said – he didn’t deserve to die for that rather petty crime, but the continued uproar over it is both absurd and artificial.

What statement is LeBron James, Kobe Bryant (or the entire Georgetown University basketball team) trying to make by perpetuating this thing – other than continued racial division. I can guarantee if Garner had been white, neither player would be worried if this perp could breathe or not. So who are the real racists?

I frankly would’ve thought that this Garner incident would have run its course, but then I read that an entire California high school basketball team was permitted to wear “I Can’t Breathe” T-shirts during warm-ups prior to a tournament at Fort Bragg high school.

The Daily Mail reported that “The players from Mendocino high school had been told that they would not be able to wear the T-shirts in memory of Eric Garner by officials at the Fort Bragg school district. But the decision was reversed on Monday, and high school players will be allowed to wear the shirts during warm-ups as long as they do not cause problems, lawyers said.” read more

A Man Without a (Tea) Party

Wake up Tea Party. You’re backing the wrong man and I can’t figure out why?

Newt’s latest attack of Romney is over Bain Capital and how Mitt has “destroyed jobs”, etc.

There is plenty of things to tag Romney with. Why pick the one capitalist thing he has done? That doesn’t sound like a conservative.

Yet plenty of Tea Party leaders are backing Newt.

“My sense is there is a growing coalition behind Newt Gingrich,” said Joe Dugan, leader of the South Carolina Tea Party. He added that Tea Party members do not want a “moderate” like Romney as their standard-bearer.

He would much rather throw in with an FDR “Progressive” than a moderate or a real conservative like Santorum.

Yes, I said FDR. As I have stated in past articles, Newt has proclaimed reverence for the 4 most despicable presidents in history; Jackson, Theodore Roosevelt, Wilson & Franklin Roosevelt. If given enough time, he’ll probably eulogize LBJ.

If I knew nothing more about Newt, that would be enough. No real conservative would ever back such a man.

I recall going to Tea Party events, where many were condemning Obama for his socialist, Marxist, communist, terrorist friends and ties. You do pick your friends, allies and idols, you know.

Now, I suppose, it’s ok to discount the candidate’s own words & alliances.

I guess we’ll just overlook when Newt stated how, “The Four Freedoms still work.”

In his own words:

No Reagan, no Coolidge or Harding. Just FDR & Wilson.

If you are not familiar with the Four Freedoms, it was part of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 1941 State of the Union speech where he said everyone in the world should have the freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from want, and freedom from fear.

The first 2 are fine, but the third & fourth? Really? Are they in the Constitution, Mr. “History Professor” Gingrich?

Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips said, “Newt Gingrich is not perfect, but he is head and shoulders above the best candidate in the field right now.”

Holy crap!! I think I just figured it out. I began writing this article without knowing why my supposed brethren would do this. I was just hoping to solve it before I completed this.

Let’s read what Phillips said again. He is the best “Candidate” in the field. That’s it; Candidate!

Well folks, a candidate can’t govern. These Tea Partiers backing Newt are evidently giving little to no thought of how he will govern once he becomes president. They are so blinded by the possibility of Barack Obama winning a second term; they are willing to sell out what I thought they/we stood for.

Do they think Newt’s fire & brimstone style will carry the day? He only surges after debates. Without them, he is surely toast anyway.

Remember people; both sides have to agree to debates. How many, where, when, etc.
They will also be moderated by the enemy and the audiences that Newt relies on so heavily, will be stacked against him. I guarantee it.

If Newt wins the nomination, Obama may debate him once, even twice early on and then, nothing. There will more than ample time for any debate bounce to vanish.

I don’t care if Newt says he’ll follow Obama to the ends of the earth, The One, will not continue to debate him and the media will certainly carry his water in that regard.

Now, with my rant finished, I will still more than likely, hold my nose once again and vote for Newt, if he wins the nomination. I would vote for a dirty diaper before casting my ballot for King Barack.
