There is a well known saying which most of us have heard. It goes: “You think it’s expensive now. Wait until it’s free.”
We heard it from those darned conservatives and fiscal hawks prior to the passage of ObamaCare, and the left claimed we were crying wolf. We said: “you think health insurance is expensive now – wait until it’s free.” And the left laughed and called us fearmongers.
They on the left knew that ObamaCare, the government manipulation of the health insurance market, would actually save us money, because – you know – that’s what always happens when the public sector injects itself into the private sector.
And son-of-a-gun if they weren’t right. On average, everyone saved over $2500, just as it was advertised by Obama. Oh wait…that must have happened on Earth 2, where Hillary Clinton is president.
Here on Earth 1, everything the government gets involved in always ends up costing more – a lot more. ObamaCare is just one example. Another that most of are all too aware of is the cost of higher education. read more

Have you noticed that higher education is the only industry in America, other than maybe the “renewable energy” industry, that never gets any cheaper? Businesses in every other industry must compete for customers by cost cutting and innovating, allowing them to often offer a better product for less money.
Yet big education can continue to raise the cost of a college education almost recklessly without incurring the wrath of either their patrons or the unwashed 99%, who protest the runaway cost of every other “big” industry.
Ever wonder why that is and why the 99% unwashed protest class leaves them alone?
Well, for starters, the left understands that virtually all colleges and universities are themselves run by leftists, where the leadership of the protest class more than likely received their training on how to become a radical. It would therefore be a bit unseemly to bite off the hand that fed you, as it were.
Then there is the relatively new found mission of big education, which is the want to recruit more and more “low income” students, who they say, would never have the opportunity to go to college. And because low income students, they say,
“fear debt and have much less experience with debt than middle and upper income families. What little experience they have with debt is much more likely to be negative.” Yes, because debt for middle and upper class is such a positive experience. read more

Short of buying a house, paying for college is the number one expense any American will incur in our lifetimes. And today some Ivy League and specialty universities can run well above what the average home might cost.
I have a personal friend whose son is attending one of these universities which cater to a special type of science and engineering for which the tab is around $70,000 per year. This poor kid will be paying off his student loans until he retires. This may be a slight exaggeration, but only slight.
Sure, he was able to apply for and receive some assistance in the form of grants through the school, but it doesn’t amount to much, relative to the overall expense.
So when I read this, I about fell out of my seat. CNS reports that, “Sarah Espinoza Salamanca found it hard to find money for college after graduating from North Hollywood high school in Southern California. She was brought to the state illegally from Mexico by her parents when she was four, but following a free K-12 education, she faced paying tuition for college – something she could not afford.” read more

Eventually – maybe sooner than later – the primaries will conclude and it will on to the general election.
As it stands now, the presumptive nominee on the democrat side will be Hillary Clinton. I still can’t believe it, but I guess criminal behavior in America, at least on the left is not only NOT frowned upon, but appears to be a resume enhancement. And it seems Clinton is picking up some steam. Once she get’s that caboose moving forward, there’s no stopping it.
One of the reasons Clinton swamped Sanders in the recent South Carolina primary may be her new college plan. In January, her new platform included what seems to be free college – similar to Sanders. She exclaimed: “And I’ll give you debt-free tuition at public colleges and universities in America, and we’re finally going to give you a chance to refinance your student debt and save thousands of dollars. And I have a special provision in my college plans, I want a $25 billion dollar fund specifically aimed at helping historically black colleges and universities.”
Now, I don’t know exactly what “debt-free tuition” is but it sounds to me like free college. read more
In this episode I discuss Schindler’s List producer Gerald Molen, who fights back against 98 Jewish liberal Hollywood heavyweights that support Obama’s ridiculous Iran giveaway. LeBron James gives back to the city of Akron, Ohio in the form of $87 million for kids to attend the University of Akron free of charge. Why is college so expensive anyway? And I discuss some rather disturbing hate mail Erick Erickson received regarding his decision to disinvite Trump to his RedState gathering. read more
