The Swamp Won’t Go Down Without a Fight

This will be a very interesting power struggle of outsiders vs swamp-dwelling entrenched insiders. Expect everyone investigating the investigators to be mercilessly trashed, much more than has already occurred, as they, hopefully, get closer to the truth.

I have every confidence in Barr’s ability and grit, and the competence of his people – but a word of caution. Let us not get our hopes too high, as we often do, that this time, the swamp-people will finally be brought to justice. This is, after all, a classic David vs Goliath scenario.

Barr / Durham

from the American Spectator:

The CIA Is Running Scared

Last Wednesday the intelligence community launched its first attack on Attorney General William Barr’s investigation into its illegal acts and abuses of power during the 2016 election. In a New York Times article entitled “Justice Department Seeks to Question CIA in its Own Russia Investigation,” the IC makes clear its fear of the results of Barr’s investigation of their spy operation on candidate Trump in 2016 that continued through his early presidency.

The article, obviously written at the behest of its intelligence community sources — “current and former American officials” — is the first of many concerted attacks on Attorney General William Barr’s investigation of the joint CIA/FBI spy operation. Many other articles, based on carefully crafted leaks to the media and Congress, are sure to follow because current and former high-ranking officials of those agencies (and probably the NSA as well) have a lot to lose.

John Durham, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, is running the investigation under Barr’s direction. From the Times report, we can easily deduce the fact that those who ran the spy op — including CIA Director Gina Haspel — are running scared from the Durham investigation. read more

Comey, McCabe, Lambasted by Former FBI Agent

from the Washington Examiner:

Mueller report is another embarrassment for James Comey and Andrew McCabe

I’m angry. I’m furious over how much damage has been wreaked upon my beloved FBI by supposedly impartial, unbiased, and honorable public servants.

Thursday’s release of the 448-page, partially redacted Mueller report was supposed to conclude our long national nightmare. But here we are, with House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., subpoenaing the unredacted report and calling for Robert Mueller to testify on May 23.

Many media headlines ignored the report’s central findings and instead focused on the sordid details of a corrupt White House seemingly in chaos, a press secretary forced to admit to investigators her fabrication of particular events, and a president who escaped prosecution only due to long-standing Justice Department protocols and his own ineptitude to obstruct justice. read more

Might Justice One Day be Served

It is said that the wheels of justice sometimes turn very slowly, but they do turn. Well, it certainly hasn’t seemed so. Not so far anyway. But with a new Attorney General, William Barr, and more evidence being uncovered, like the Lisa Page testimony, may we finally see those wheels begin to turn again? Only time will tell if those in the Trump administration can muster the courage to reopen these seemingly cold cases of democrat wrong-doers. And might we finally discover just how far up the latter this goes?

from the Blaze:

Lisa Page testified that the FBI was close to charging Hillary Clinton in 2016 — here’s who shut it down

Newly released transcripts from a controversial former FBI lawyer’s testimony before Congress show that the FBI was considering charging Hillary Clinton in 2016 when the Department of Justice shut down the possibility.

Lisa Page was identified as the other side of a text message conversation with FBI agent Peter Strzok that derided then-candidate Donald Trump ahead of the election. read more

McCabe Investigated Sessions?

from Katie Pavlich at Townhall:

Wait, What? Andrew McCabe Launched an FBI Investigation Into Attorney General Sessions Because Dems Asked Him To?

Wait, What? Andrew McCabe Launched an FBI Investigation Into Attorney General Sessions Because Dems Asked Him To?
It’s been less than a week since former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was fired by Attorney General Jeff Sessions after a recommendation for termination from the Inspector General and Office of Professional Responsibility. The drama surrounding the lawful and justified firing hasn’t stopped since and late Wednesday night, ABC News dropped a bombshell story alleging Sessions was under FBI investigation last year for perjury. The man leading the charge? Andrew McCabe. read more

Media Ignores McCabe’s Misdeeds

from Media Research Center:

On Wednesday, word leaked out that the FBI’s Inspector General’s office was recommending former deputy director, Andrew McCabe be fired for misleading their investigators who were looking into the handling of the Clinton e-mail investigation. The report hasn’t been made public yet but it comes as the Trump administration was experiencing numerous firings. While ABC, CBS, and NBC had previously hyped such firings, NBC ignored this one as ABC spent more time worried about McCabe’s pension. read more

FBI is too Distracted by Watchlists

From Ann Coulter/Breitbart:

Amazing New Breakthrough to Reduce Mass Shootings

As fun as it is to ridicule the FBI for devoting massive resources to chasing down Hillary Clinton’s oppo research while blowing off repeated, specific warnings about school shooter Nikolas Cruz, we’ve put a lot on the agency’s plate.

We’re hauling in nearly 2 million manifestly unvetted Third World immigrants every year, leading to a slew of FBI “Watch Lists” with a million names apiece. In 2015, Director James Comey said that there were ISIS investigations in all 50 states — even Idaho and Alaska! And that’s just one terrorist organization.

Maybe the FBI brass would still be a bunch of incompetent, PC nincompoops if we weren’t dumping millions of psychotic and terrorist foreigners on the country. But even the most efficient organization would have trouble keeping track of the Nikolas Cruzes when our immigration policies require approximately one-third of the country to be constantly watching another third of the country. read more

Do We Need an Intelligence Overhaul?

No, I’m not talking about the Democrat Party. I think it’s too late for that bunch. I’m of course referring to our federal intelligence services which have become highly politicized, appear to only be interested in protecting the aforementioned democrats, and it seems have become less competent since they’ve become politicized.

The Sandy Hook massacre not withstanding, three of the latest most high profile mass-shootings/bombings have the FBI’s bungling fingerprints all over them.

The Sandy Hook, Adam Lanza, school shooting was bungled by local authorities. They were warned of Lanza’s behavior and threats, and failed to pass it off to the FBI, or similar authority. Locals are not equipped or adept at investigating potential situations prior to them happening.

However, there appears to be a pattern forming in the FBI’s ability or want to follow leads prior to the tragedies occurring.

The FBI failed to keep track of the Boston bomber, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, after they suspected he had become radicalized. The FBI interviewed him in 2011 as a person with terrorist ties, thanks to a tip from Russian intelligence, but never followed up, even after he had several times visited a known radical Islamic Mosque in Dagestan. Dagestan is known to have Islamist training camps.

According to a local police official, a case file on Tsarnaev was then handed over to the FBI along with a request for further information. However, the FBI never replied. read more

FBI Continued Using Steele After Breaking Ties

from the Washington Free Beacon:

FBI Used Ex-British Spy as Main Source for Spying Warrants After Suspending Its Relationship With Him

Despite suspending its relationship with an ex-British spy who wrote the unverified dossier on President Donald Trump over the ex-spy’s unauthorized contact with the media, the FBI presented him as a credible source to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court multiple times after that suspension, according to two Republican senators.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa) late Tuesday afternoon released a new version of a Jan. 4 criminal referral he wrote with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) that asked the Justice Department to investigate Trump dossier author Christopher Steele for allegedly lying to the FBI, which is a crime. read more

Has the FBI Become Another Appendage of the Deep State?

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Just how far down does the anti-Trump FBI Deep State go? Wow – I just reread that sentence. It sounds like Alex Jones! No matter.

We hear from every political pundit on the right, that the problems at the FBI and other intelligence agencies are concentrated at the top. Every pundit or politician I’ve seen or heard speak on the topic has prefaced their criticisms with, “Now let’s be clear. I’m not talking about the hardworking agents on the ground – I’m talking about the leadership that has become politicized,” or some such malarkey. In politics, the first thing you learn is to CYA.

But how does anyone know at this time? Answer is that we don’t. No one does, which is why that statement or those like it is such bull crap. The FBI employs well over 35,000 people. Within its ranks, like any other company or department of that size, there will bad apples at every level. But unlike government, corporations don’t change ownership consistently every four to eight years. Seems to me that a working environment like that would lend itself to becoming more political – not less. read more

Dirty Clinton Paid for Dirty Dossier

from the Daily Mail:

Hillary Clinton‘s campaign and the Democratic National Committee helped bankroll research that led to the ‘golden showers’ dossier on Donald Trump.

Clinton’s campaign lawyer Marc Elias hired research firm Fusion GPS back in April 2016 to look into allegations of Trump’s ties to Russia, according to the Washington Post.

Fusion GPS, the Washington-based research firm, then hired former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele to dig up the unconfirmed dirt on Trump.

Clinton’s lawyer and his law firm Perkins Coie continued to fund the research until October 2016 – just days before the presidential election.

The research was previously funded by an unknown anti-Trump Republican donor during the primary, but Clinton’s campaign then paid for it to be finished.

Sources would not confirm how much was paid to Fusion GPS, but said the campaign and DNC shared the cost.  read more
