Maxine Waters Thinks Ben Carson is a Fool

California Representative Maxine Waters once again proves what an imbecile she really is, as she once again denigrates HUD Secretary Ben Carson. Does she have any idea of where Carson came from – that he came from dirt-poor stock to rise up on his own, to become the success he is today? Evidently not.

from the Blaze:

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) continued her mockery of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson while speaking to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Town Hall on Civil Rights Thursday.

What did she say?

“Look at Ben Carson. My God. My grandmother would call him an educated fool,” she said. read more

HUD Secretary Carson Unearths Massive Fraud

from Constitution.com:

Remember this from Dr. Ben Carson’s confirmation process as the incoming HUD Secretary?

“I have serious concerns about Dr. Carson’s lack of expertise and experience in dealing with housing issues. Someone who is as anti-government as him is a strange fit for Housing secretary, to say the least,” Schumer said in a statement.

Or this?

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) called Carson a “disconcerting and disturbingly unqualified choice.”

Or this?

Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), the top Democrat on the Senate’s Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, said the country “cannot afford a HUD Secretary whose spokesperson said he doesn’t believe he’s up for the job.”  read more

Carson Gives Trump a Pass, but Not Cruz

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Evidently it’s not safe to be a dissenter at a Donald Trump rally these days. But then I suppose it’s not safe for anyone who is not part of the Trump brigade – not even if you are just reporting on it, or are shills for the Trump campaign, like Drudge and Breitbart.

Drudge, being a central headline hub doesn’t have this problem, but we can no longer say the same of Breitbart, as we found out at the Tuesday Trump rally. We’ve all heard (or seen) Trump campaign manager and senior thug, Corey Lewandowski manhandling Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields as she was simply trying to get close enough to The Donald to ask a question.

Lewandowski apparently grabbed her so hard, he bruised her forearm in several places, practically forcing her to the ground.

Where does Trump get these people? I mean – this guy is not security. He’s supposed to be the campaign manager. It reminds of the Batman movie, The Dark Night, where, after dispatching their Underworld boss, Joker turns to his three thugs and says you can now work for me – but there is room for only one, so you will have to try-out for the position. The Joker then snaps a pool cue in half, throws the pieces on the floor and leaves. The implication is that only one will live to join his crew. Is this also the Trump interview process? I’m just asking. read more

Setting the Record Straight on the Carson/Cruz Dust Up

by: the Common Constitutionalist

On Wednesday I was a little hard on the Cruz campaign. In fact I did something I accused his campaign of doing – not fully checking the background of a story before putting it out there.

I’m speaking of the Iowa Caucus and the ensuing firestorm caused by the spread of a rumor that Dr. Carson was hanging it up after Iowa. The Donald is so upset over losing to Ted Cruz that he wants a mulligan – a do-over, like what you get when you’re five. He’s now saying it’s not his fault he lost. What a child.

How does that even make any sense, other than to assume that every voter who baled on Carson went directly to Cruz, bypassing both Trump and Rubio? And has anyone seen any statistics of Caucus-goers abandoning Carson in droves? I haven’t. It defies logic – but then most of what Trump has been doing lately defies logic.

If you happen to be a WWE or UFC fan, the upcoming Saturday night Republican debate in New Hampshire is likely to look familiar. It’s going to be a bloodbath and everyone on the stage will be targeting Cruz because of this. He had better be well prepared with the facts and the timeline of events surrounding this Carson dropping out rumor. He will pay a price if he’s not fully prepared. I have confidence he will be, but it will likely not matter to the other candidates, or the so-called moderators. We’ll just see if they keep a handle on things or stoke the fires of discontent, which is more likely, being that everyone except the voters hate Cruz and would love to take him out. read more

My Thoughts On Iowa

by: the Common Constitutionalist

**UPDATE** It’s beginning to look more like the Cruz people may actually have been right about Carson – in repeating the CNN report of the Doctor. There’s definitely something fishy going on at the Carson campaign.

Obviously the big news is the Cruz victory and the Trump loss. The lead up to the caucuses was that Cruz must win Iowa and that if Trump won, he could run the table. Well, that didn’t happen. That’s not to say it still can’t going forward.

The Iowa race was rather exiting and not without a few controversies. Of course we all know about the great Hillary, Heads I win, Tails you lose coin toss. She is one lucky woman – winning all six tosses in a row. On a lark, I grabbed a quarter and flipped it six times as they did to decide the State election. I attempted 20 rounds of six flips. Each time I chose heads. Not once did I achieve six for six. Read what you will into that.

Then there is the dust-up between the Cruz and Carson campaigns. CNN reported that after the Iowa race had concluded, Ben Carson would not go directly to either New Hampshire or South Carolina, as it appears all other candidates are doing. Rather that he would fly home to Florida.

Apparently this was enough news for Cruz staffer Spence Rogers to email: “Breaking News. The press is reporting that Dr. Ben Carson is taking time off from the campaign trail after Iowa and making a big announcement next week. Please inform any Carson caucus goers of this news and urge them to caucus for Ted Cruz.”

Then it was off to the races, as the erroneous report developed a life of its own. At 7:00 PM the official Ted Cruz mobile app sent out a message that “CNN is reporting that Ben Carson will stop campaigning after Iowa,” the alert read. “Make sure to tell all of your peers at the caucus supporting Carson that they should coalesce around the true conservative who will be in the race for the long haul: TED CRUZ!” read more

Is That What Trump Said?

As you all know, I am not a Trump guy, but just as I came to the defense of Ben Carson as the press (and talking heads) lambaste him over his suggestion that the Chinese are in Syria, they, as well as every other lazy, ill-informed fool, are now murdering Trump over something he didn’t say. Everyone has taken one sound bite out of context, without any further examination of what was actually said and run with it as if it were gospel.  read more

Don’t Vote For Ben – He’s a Buffoon

by: the Common Constitutionalist

According to the New York Times, the paper of record don’t cha know, Dr. Ben Carson is utterly clueless, because he said the Chinese were in Syria. What a maroon! (hat tip Bugs Bunny)

Now the first thing I noticed about the New York Times piece is their outright refusal to call Ben Carson doctor. His name was evoked several times in the rather lengthy piece and each time they used Mr., not Dr.

I thought that odd. Could it be that the Times is so threatened by Dr. Carson, a black neurosurgeon, that they felt the need to delegitimize him by demoting him to simply a Mister? Again, I thought this purposeful omission rather curious.

Now, I don’t know if the Chinese are physically in Syria, and frankly neither does anyone else, to be certain. We can assume they are not because no one else has mentioned them, but that doesn’t prove Dr. Carson is ill-informed or lying or both.

The Times begins by writing that, “Ben Carson’s remarks on foreign policy have repeatedly raised questions about his grasp of the subject, but never more seriously than in the past week, when he wrongly asserted that China had intervened militarily in Syria and then failed, on national television, to name the countries he would call on to form a coalition to fight the Islamic State.” Actually, that’s not what he said. And as to the “coalition” question, his answer was simply to lead from the front. Begin an offensive campaign – others will see you’re serious and follow your lead – and voila – you have a coalition.

Now I’m not a Carson guy, but who is to say the Chinese aren’t there in some form or another. Are we to take only the word of the “experts” in the Obama administration – you know – the same ones who insist there is no threat of ISIS within the mass “refugee” infiltration into the United States? You mean those guys. read more

The VA System Was Always Corrupt

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Most everyone, except politicians and those who profit from it (often, one in the same), agree that the Veterans Administration is broken and frankly doesn’t appear to even give a crap about our men and women who have sacrificed in the defense of this country.

Yet I’ve heard that like a lot of “broken” government programs – welfare, social security, etc. – its degradation has been decades in the making and so therefore it just can’t be fixed overnight. It will take time and money (the dreaded “investment”) to fix problems, but constant delays and cost overruns have hampered efforts to provide more care facilities.

To this many, including Ben Carson, have said we simply need to scrap the V.A. and its system of hospitals. Conservatives have been saying, no shouting, that if you want to see the future of Obamacare, of the top down government run healthcare of our future, we need look no further than the VA system.

Carson has suggested it be replaced with a system of health savings accounts “that would allow veterans to obtain treatment at any medical facility instead of restricting them to government-run hospitals. The VA would then be turned into a specialty hospital to care for traumatic injuries such as loss of limb or severe brain injuries.”

Others say no, that you can’t throw the baby out with the bath water. That sure, there are some bad hospitals, some bad administrators, but it’s not all bad – that it wasn’t always this way.

Well, to that I say bunk! Unlike other government organizations, the VA system didn’t get as bad as it is over time. It’s been bad and it’s been corrupt from its conception – when it began as the Veterans Bureau in 1921. read more

Podcast – The House Freedom Caucus Holds America Hostage – Ben Carsons Holocaust Remarks – Hitler Hits the Streets in Germany

by: the Common Constitutionalist

In this episode, Representative Trent Franks (R-AZ) defends the 40 member evil right-wing House Freedom Caucus that, according to left, is holding the nation hostage with their extremist views and refusal to “compromise.” Ben Carson defends his position on the Holocaust – how armed Jews may have possibly diminished Hitler’s grand plan of extermination, and Adolf Hitler is back and wandering the streets of Germany, much to delight of some. read more

The Left Purposely Pits One Conservative Against Another

by: the Common Constitutionalist

(inspiration provided by Mark Levin)

So Ben Carson, as a presidential candidate, is evidently no longer allowed to have a personal opinion on any matter regarding the new front of the left’s civil rights movement. Sure, Carson is black and all – but we moved on from that. Muslim rights are now where it’s at!

Carson’s personal opinion is that he wouldn’t advocate for a Muslim to become president. This is his personal opinion and has nothing at all to do with Article VI of the Constitution, and the document as a whole, which deals exclusively with the responsibilities of and restrictions on the government, not the individual, or his or her opinion.

When asked by Chuck Todd whether a president’s faith should matter, Carson never said a Muslim should be prohibited from holding the office, just that he would not advocate for it.

Carson didn’t and hasn’t said that the government can prevent a Muslim from being president.

But either the press doesn’t understand the difference or they are the back-stabbing “gotcha” sacks of dirt we know them to be. Which one is it? Well, it’s probably the latter. This appears to be a conscious effort to drive a wedge between two conservatives. Want proof? read more
