I first want to start off with an observation made years ago by one Glenn Beck, long before Trump ever considered running for President. Those who don’t care for Beck, just stay with me. This is not about him.
He was talking about what the polished, buttoned up phony Obama was and frankly still is. He was aloof, seemingly unflappable, great speech maker, always mindful of his words. Glenn said that we must be careful in our next choice for president because otherwise it’s likely to be the polar opposite. Both in terms of policy and also in demeanor.
Glenn predicted that the next president might be a “gravy stain” president. You know, the guys that spills gravy down the front of his shirt and then doesn’t seem to care. He’s not polished or buttoned up. He’s more blue collar and acts and speaks that way.
It wasn’t a hard prediction. After all, if you trust the pendulum theory, that the pendulum tends always to swing wildly from one side to the other. It never seems to go from hard left to center and vice versa. read more
