Green Energy is Rubbish

from: Breitbart

Some people call it “renewable energy” but I prefer to call it “alternative energy” because that’s what it really is: an alternativeto energy that actually works (eg nuclear and anything made from wonderful, energy-rich fossil fuel.)

Now a pair of top boffins from uber-green Google’s research department have reached the same conclusion.

Ross Konigstein and David Fork, both Stanford PhDs (aerospace engineering; applied physics) were employed on a Google research project which sought to enhance renewable technology to the point where it could produce energy more cheaply than coal. But after four years, the project was closed down. In this post at IEEE Spectrum they tell us why. read more

Left Coast Stupidity on Display

by: the Common Constitutionalist

How’s the weather in your neck of the woods? Here in New England we’re freezing our tushies off. It could be worse. We could be living in the Lakes region or Buffalo New York buried under several feet of snow, with more on the way. And winter is still over a month away.

I was speaking with a buddy of mine from Houston Texas a day or so ago. He told me was in the 30s. The 30s – in Houston – where they fry bacon on the sidewalks in May.

In fact the whole country is frozen over, save for maybe the southern tip of Florida.

However, none of this seems to have any affect on the liberal wackos in Berkeley California.

Kristin Bender of the AP writes: “Some of the country’s first gas pump warning labels about climate change are coming to Berkeley, a city with a long history of green and clean policies. The Berkeley City Council voted late Tuesday to draft a proposal by next spring that will put stickers on gas pumps citywide to warn customers that burning fuel contributes to global warming.” read more

Is It Fight or Flight for Obama?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Late last week Karen Tumulty and Juliet Eilperin at the Washington Post wrote a column entitled “Will Obama fade or fight as Republicans gain control of Congress?”

They wrote that when his [Obama’s] “party got walloped last week in the midterm election an unbowed president Obama declared that he would ‘squeeze every last bit of opportunity’ to push his agenda in the waning years of his presidency. In the past few days, he has shown that he meant it.” Yes, the only ones he bows to our sheikhs and dictators.

My first question to the ladies is to name one time when he hasn’t squeezed “every last bit of opportunity” out of his mostly unlawful and unconstitutional agenda?

An aside: I don’t know where my head is at. I apologize for my “ladies” reference, them writing for the WaPo. That was insensitive and assumptive. It’s quite possible one or the other, or both, are transgendered, transsexual, gender bending or questioning.

Anyway, they go on to list, in no particular order, all the “opportunities” Obama must still squeeze out. Sorry for the sphincter reference, but if the shoe fits, so to speak. read more

For Krugman – Up Is Down – Right Is Wrong

by: the Common Constitutionalist

This is the world, according to Paul Krugman, as he shares with us his genius in his latest New York Times column, “Triumph of the Wrong“.

Anyone who knows of Krugman can guess from the title and its proximity to the elections that he is referring to the Republican drubbing of the Democrats last Tuesday. Oh – and that he’s not fond of the result.

He begins his learned piece with this gem: “… of another Republican Party sweep, politics determines who has the power, not who has the truth. Still, it’s not often that a party that is so wrong about so much does as well as Republicans did on Tuesday.”

I actually agree with this statement, save for replacing the “Republicans” with “Obama and his policies”.

He continues by saying: “So now is a good time to remember just how wrong the new rulers of Congress have been about, well, everything.” read more

Our Biggest Challenge Ever…Overcoming Hypocrisy

by: the Common Constitutionalist

On August 6, Sec. John “Lurch” Kerry exclaimed in Honolulu that our biggest challenge is terrorism, Ebola, Russia, China, the economy, climate change.

Yes climate change is the “biggest challenge we face right now”, so said Kerry – and then he boarded his government 757 jet and flew off to his next destination.

CFACT reported that, in Africa, Kerry told leaders that they should stop creating new farms because “certain agricultural processes can actually release carbon pollution.”

Brilliant – telling the starving in Africa to stop trying so hard to feed themselves because they might affect the climate. Then he boarded his jet and flew off to lecture some other third world country, no doubt.

Yes, Obama and especially Kerry pulled out all the stops leading up to the big climate summit happening this week.

Interestingly, NewsMax reported that, “While 120 heads of state were invited [to the UN summit] some of the largest CO2 emitters have declined. Aussie Prime Minister Tony Abbott, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and even on Angela Merkel, president of whom uber-green German apparently made other plans.”

I guess not all the world leaders are suckers. read more

Green Energy Hype

Beware of marketing terms such as “clean,” “renewable,” and “sustainable.”  While those words may seem very nice, they have routinely been co-opted and redefined through misleading “Green” messaging campaigns.
GREENHOUSERegarding “clean” energy, let’s agree that no sane person wants dirty, polluted air, land, or water. Nope, not even conservatives.
At the same time, let’s also not confuse carbon dioxide, the plant food that all carbon-based life depends upon, with “air pollution.” The simple fact that the Supreme Court gave EPA permission to regulate it as a polluting “endangerment” under its Clean Air Act does not make this true.
That 2009 ruling decreed that atmospheric concentrations of six greenhouse gases (including CO2 ) “threaten the public health and welfare of current and future generations.” How? Because they pollute global temperatures — warm apparently being considered to be bad, and conversely, frigid obviously being good.

New Obama Energy Standards

Spurred by President Obama’s climate action plan, the Department of Energy is pumping out new standards for refrigerators, dishwashers, air conditioners, ceiling fans, furnaces, boilers, water heaters, lamps and many more appliances.

The administration says the standards will not only help the planet but also stimulate the economy by saving consumers money on their energy bills that they can spend elsewhere. read more

Global Warming Frauds Are Desperate

by: the Common Constitutionalist

We out here, living in “Realville”, of which Rush Limbaugh is the self appointed mayor, have been asking, “Where’s the warming?”, Since 1998. And believe me, in New England this summer – we really mean it.

After 16 years and hundreds of billions of dollars spent worldwide, I think we have a right to know.

Well, the pro-warming “scientific community” has been quietly asking the same question and desperately seeking an answer.

Professor Ka-Kit Tung of the University of Washington says, “Every week there is a new explanation of the hiatus”, ranging from air pollution to sunspots to volcanoes, etc.

And this appears to be the buzzword that has caught on in the warming community – “hiatus”. Global warming is on hiatus, is it? I guess it’s taking a well needed holiday.
But because of this 16 year “hiatus”, the public, who are fitting the bill, and many more scientists, are beginning to question the whole “man-made” warming claim.

And that’s why warming advocates scientists are so desperate to explain this “pause”. They’re losing the PR battle, and if they lose that, they’ll lose the politicians, and if they lose the political class, say bye-bye to their funding. read more

Unions Sour On Green Aganda

In a colossal “See, We Told You So”, it seems even Unions are souring on The Obama “Green” agenda. The shame of it is that probably 90% of them voted for their own potential demise by voting for Obama.

from IBD:

Well, well. Another big union has publicly declared that its members are the real front-line victims of the Obama administration’s war on domestic energy production.

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers came out with guns blazing this week against the Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed Clean Power Plan.

In a press release, it warns what we’ve been saying about these economically masochistic carbon emission regulations from the start: “They will kill more than 150,000 good jobs while having a minimal effect on global greenhouse emissions.” read more

Simulations Do Not the Climate Make

By: the Common Constitutionalist

You know, in a murder mystery, there’s always at least one dupe that is convinced that the killer just can’t be the killer. One person who wants to believe so badly, that the facts are just “inconvenient” – he just refuses to see the truth!

These are the kinds of people that the “Climate Change” snake oil merchants seek out and fund to the tune of billions of dollars. No matter what the facts are; no matter what the climate does, some Kool-Aid drinker will always “find” proof that it is caused by man, usually by running a computer simulation.

The latest proof of global warming, or Climate Change, or whatever, are the North and South Poles. One is losing sea ice, one is gaining sea ice, one is melting from the bottom up, the other growing.

See, the thing about the poles is that they are constantly shifting. The South Pole, Antarctica is growing, while the North Pole, the Arctic, is shrinking (I don’t buy it). In other words, the local “climates” are constantly changing. They never stay the same, from year-to-year.

There have always been and, as long as we’ve had the two pole landmasses, will always, be ebbs and flows, shrinkage and growth in the ice. It’s not dirt or rock – it’s frozen water – a little more susceptible to warming and cooling.

So as the Antarctic grows and the Arctic shrinks (and I’m not sure it is) our hyper controlling government only has to find Kool-Aid drinking “men of science”, like NASA scientist Walt Meier who simply state that growing Antarctic sea ice is less significant a measure than is declining Arctic sea ice, cause…you see…um…it’s harder to explain growing ice due to global warming, you know…so we’ll just claim it to be insignificant. read more
