But We Are At War With Mexico

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Any reasonable person would have recently joined in a collective belly laugh of irony at the cojones Obama appears to have when dealing with what he must think is a lesser nation like Turkey. This administration making demands of Turkey to close its border with Syria has to be one the most absurd utterances made by them yet, and that’s saying something.

Yet insist they did. “The game has changed. Enough is enough. The border needs to be sealed,” an Obama administration official said. The Obamites estimate “that about 30,000 troops are needed to block ISIS movements.”

To this, a Turkish official pointed out the pot-calling-the-kettle-black irony we are already aware of – that the U.S. can’t (won’t) close its own border, yet they lecture the Turks. In response, a U.S. official said, “If we were at war with Mexico, we’d close that border.”

Yesterday, on Fox and Friends, Ben Carson reiterated the point that, “For us to sit there and proclaim sanctimoniously that you should close your border while we haven’t done that to protect the American people seems to me the height of hypocrisy.”

But, in a manner of speaking, we are at war with Mexico – it’s a drug/gang war, and we’re losing. Because of our porous southern border, countless thousands of Mexican gang members have flooded into America, ferrying billions of dollars worth of drugs, countless acts of violence and the Mexican government has done little or nothing to stop it. In my opinion they are complicit.

And for a fee, they are more than happy to bring in any jihadist to the party who can pay the fare. read more

One Way or Another – We Are The Cause of Terrorism

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Western Leftists are really struggling to explain the rise of ISIS, the resurgence of al-Qaeda and radical Islamic terrorism in general. Liberals desperately grasp at anything they can point to as the cause(s) for terrorism – because it just has to be our fault. Somehow we brought this upon ourselves.

Bernie Sanders, the Vermont curmudgeon, claims that climate change is to blame. We on the right laugh at the idea, but Time.com last month reported that “many academics and national security experts agree that climate change contributes to an uncertain world where terrorism can thrive.” These Obama sycophants in academe and the “researchers” at the new and improved Department of Defense will say and do anything to advance the president’s climate change, wealth distribution agenda, and to keep their funding rolling in and save their jobs.

Time references a 2014 DOD report as proof of the expert claims. Although the report is a full 20 pages long, one has only to read a portion of the forward, which states: “The responsibility of the Department of Defense is the security of our country. Among the future trends that will impact our national security is climate change. In our defense strategy, we refer to climate change as a ‘threat multiplier’ because it has the potential to exacerbate many of the challenges we are dealing with today – from infectious disease to terrorism. We are already beginning to see some of these impacts.”

The report is stunning! The only thing they get right is the first sentence. If, to this point, you haven’t been worried about our security, I suggest you start. If this is what the great military minds at the Pentagon are concerned with, we are in worse trouble than I thought, as it appears Obama has successfully co-opted everyone short of the boots on the ground. read more

Maybe He Can Unite the Sunni and Shiite…Maybe Not

by: the Common Constitutionalist

“Experts” recently dismissed the idea that ISIS, the ruthless Iraqi/serious terror group will actually be able to form what they claim as their goal – a Caliphate.

The leader and would-be King, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi (call him Bag-Daddy) is calling on all Muslims to come to the “Islamic state”.

On an audiotape released yesterday (I don’t know if it’s cassette or 8-track (children – ask your parents) he was heard exclaiming, “Muslims, rush to your state. Yes, it is your state”.

On the tape is also a proclamation that Bag-Daddy is the Caliph, the official “Head of the new Islamic state”. Maybe he used an executive order to do that.

Pictures have been released of his troops riding triumphantly through streets in American Humvees, sporting American M4 rifles.

This past Sunday was the start of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month. Of this he said: “In this virtuous month or in any other month, there is no deed better than jihad in the path of Allah, so take advantage of this opportunity and walk the path of your righteous predecessors. So to arms, to arms, soldiers of the Islamic, fight, fight.”

One truly disturbing photograph released by ISIS was a massive rocket, possibly a captured Soviet built SCUD missile. This should concern the Israelis, although “experts” say it’s “almost certainly” inoperable and unlikely to pose a threat. read more

Will ISIS Form the World’s First Terror State?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

So what was that refrain again? Bin Laden is dead. Al-Qaeda has been decimated and is on the run. Does that mean we are safer now?

Not hardly. Terrorism is expanding rapidly and terrorist controlled areas are growing ever larger as they see weakness in the West and the impotence of president Obama.

Islamic radicals are expanding their reach and influence with abandon, leaving a wake of death and destruction wherever they go.

Nigeria, the Sudan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, China, Lebanon, Central African Republic, Libya, Syria and of course Iraq have seen terrorist attacks just in the past few weeks.

By far the West’s, and particularly our greatest worry in America, must be ISIS. In a short period of time, their ranks have swelled from those 1300 fighters who took Mosul to between 10 and 15,000. read more

The United States – Caliphate Enabler

by: the Common Constitutionalist

“We have to do something!” regarding Syria. That’s the clarion call of both the right and left. It’s actually the call of the progressives for I hear few if any constitutional conservatives calling for action.

It’s like saying we have to do something to put out a wildfire and then throwing gasoline on it. That’s doing something, is it not?

Yet virtually every politician and pundit I see or hear insists we have to help. We can’t just stand by and do nothing. Assad has clearly crossed the “red line” with chemical weapon attacks and must be dealt with.

However, I personally have seen or heard no evidence that Assad is the one ordering the chemical attacks. Everyone is just assuming it must be his regime. It most likely is but if the Al Qaeda “rebels” had them, they would surely use them and blame Assad knowing the West would fall right in line. It wouldn’t surprise me a bit to find that Al Qaeda were the ones firing on the UN inspectors.

As an aside: I wonder where Assad got his WMDs? If you recall, during the run-up to the Iraq war, there were reports of Russian convoys leaving Iraq headed for Syria/Lebanon. Reports were that the trucks were loaded with WMDs and were eventually hidden in the Bakaa Valley, Lebanon that borders Syria. Could these be the weapons that Assad used? Just something to ponder.

Meanwhile, many in our government and the media are beating the drums of war – or at least a hefty American response, for progressives believe we are indeed the world’s police force.

Just as they think we can continue to spend money we don’t have domestically, they give no thought to involving us in every international conflict.

The American people aren’t as keen to involve the U.S. as say John McCain or Lindsey Graham. According to a Reuters poll, 60% of Americans polled want nothing to do with the attack on Syria, or any involvement whatsoever. 9% were in favor. I’m no fan of Reuters but I tend to believe this.

One poll respondent, a former military officer said: “the United States has become too much of the world’s policemen and we have become involved in too many places that should be a United Nations realm, not ours.”

Monday afternoon Sean Hannity weighed in on the subject. He said it would be like sitting back and watching thugs mug an old lady. He asked, “Would you just do nothing?”

I gotta tell ya. Hannity has all but lost me. It’s bad enough that he gives the likes of Karl Rove a platform on his show, but equating a mugging to this is a specious argument. One has nothing to do with the other.

When we get involved in these conflicts it inevitably ends up worse. Afghanistan, Iraq, Egypt, Libya and now Syria. They are all now or will be worse off than before we “did something”.

Is this what Ben Franklin meant when he stated: “Wars are not paid for in wartime, the bill comes later.” Or John Adams prescient statement of the arrogance of power: “Power always thinks it has a great soul and vast views beyond the comprehension of the weak.”

Will we ever learn through conflict after conflict to just butt out?

I feel for the innocents in all the Middle East. Their lives revolve around one tragedy after another. But we as a nation must adhere to the Constitution. That document is, as were the founders, very specific about matters of war.

George Washington adamantly stated: “The Constitution vests the power of declaring war in Congress; therefore no offensive expedition of importance can be undertaken until after they shall have deliberated upon the subject and authorized such a measure.”

If something is to be done, let Congress deliberate and authorize it, not President Cruise Missile.

As evil a human being as Assad is, just like Egypt and Libya, if he falls things will be much worse.

After that – watch for Iraq and Lebanon – they’re next.

Caliphate anyone?

Dreams of the Caliphate

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I heard a little ditty back in May of this year. It’s sure to be a hit to millions worldwide. It wasn’t on American Idol or the Voice. No, it was at a political rally – in Egypt.

The event was for then president Mohammed Morsi, the Obama administration’s preferred Egyptian ruler and member of the Muslim Brotherhood.

At the rally they sang this song:

“O those who long to die a martyr’s death,

 you are all Hamas,

banish the sleep from the eyes of all the Jews

forget about the whole world, forget the conferences

take up your arms

say your prayers and call to Allah…”

Prior to the singing of that short yet poignant ballad another Brotherhood member spoke. Sheikh Safwat al-Higazi spoke of nonpartisan secularism and unity. Like MLK he too has a dream.

Higazi declared: “We see the dream of the Islamic Caliphate, the dream of the land of the Caliphate realized, God willing, by Mohammed Morsi, and his supporters and his brothers and his political party. We have seen the great dream, that we all share, the United Arab States! United Arab States will return, God willing. The United Arab States will be restored by this man and his supporters, God willing. The capital of the caliphate, the capital of the United Arab States will be Jerusalem, God willing. It’s capital will not be Cairo, nor Mecca, nor Medina, only Jerusalem, God willing, and our call will be millions of martyrs are marching to Jerusalem.”

Yes, it sounds just like a peaceful democracy, just as the administration predicted. And did you catch the several references to “United Arab States”?

Well, according to Dr. Mordechai Kedar, the name “United Arab States” was inserted quite purposefully. He claims it was inserted to equate the caliphate to the strength of the United States. And worse, the doctor says the suggestion came from an American. An American currently employed at the State Department.

Others and I have been warning for years of the Muslim Brotherhood infiltration into our government.

But, you might say, Morsi and the brotherhood was just ousted. True but that is a temporary setback. Look at the region to understand the progress they’ve made in just the past decade.

The Muslim Brotherhood has outright or effective control of Turkey, the Palestinian Authority, the Gaza Strip, Tunisia, Morocco and Kuwait. Most likely adding Libya and Syria to that list. All supported by the very rich and very powerful Emirate of Qatar and the al- Jazeera network.

So why has the United States government supported and continue to support them? Because governments are stupid and employ a lot of myopic idiots that claim to be experts. Hillary Clinton was a shining example of this. What did she know about diplomacy or foreign affairs. She was/is a leftist political hack who was given the job as a thank you and to keep her out of the country.

After 9/11 it was thought that the Brotherhood was more moderate than al- Qaeda and the Bush and Obama administrations could more easily deal with their rule of the Middle East. Again, this idea was pushed by the U.S. State Department.

That same department has been trying to reassure Israel that the Brotherhood can be partners in peace, and some, even in Israel are stupid enough to buy it.

King Abdullah of Jordan seems to be one of the few leaders that isn’t buying into the Brotherhood or United States pressure.

He has called the Brotherhood “wolves in sheep’s clothing” and worse.

He understands there is no working with them and does not wish to relinquish his throne for the benefit of the caliphate. He believes that holding the Brotherhood at bay is even more important than the Iranian conflict.

Yet for all the evidence to the contrary, our White House and State Department keep pushing and promoting the radical Brotherhood agenda.

Could they all really be that gullible or is there another agenda?

Islam…Religion of Peace…Yeah, Sure

by: Michael Carl (WND)

A Muslim group has released its plan to “wipe Christianity from the face of the earth,” Islamize the West and establish an Islamic system of world government – placing those who resist “under a police state.”

The 23-page booklet, “The Global Islamic Civilization: The Power of a Nation Revived,” is the brainchild of the United Muslim Nations International, a group led by Sheik Farook al-Mohammedi. The document outlines a plan for Muslim world domination and the re-establishment of the Caliphate.

Al-Mohammedi leaves no doubt about his view of Christianity.

“Christianity should be destroyed and wiped from the face of the earth,” al-Mohammedi said. “It is an evil demonic and Anti-Christ system, all Christians are in complete Ignorance.”

The sheik includes a veiled threat in his remarks.

“Islamic Power has returned upon the face of the earth and the Revived Global Caliphate has set eyes on the West to once and for all rid the world of Christianity and there is nothing you can do about it,” al-Mohammedi said.

He makes his objective clear.

“I have pledged and made a firm promise to the Caliphate of the United Muslim Nations International organization that I will do my utmost to Islamize all of the West within a short period of time,” al-Mohammedi said.

Al-Mohammedi’s views are reflected in the book, which calls on all Muslims to, “listen attentively (to the teaching in the booklet) so they may be able to feel the spirituality of an Islamic revival within themselves and they will be able to achieve the much needed upliftment and also a means in gaining the closeness of Allah Subahanhu wa-ta’ ala.”

The document is a clear statement on the organization’s objective. Page 2 explains that the emergence of an Islamic Caliphate is the ultimate goal of all Muslims.

“Firstly we will deal with the matter of the Global Islamic Civilization, its honored status, the unrivaled Universal Brotherhood and Sisterhood of the Muslim Ummah,” the document states.

“Islam the only true religion enjoins upon mankind Total Submission to the will of Allah, which means that you are to live a life that is Totally Devoted to the Almighty Allah by serving Him in the manner which He has prescribed for us through the example of the Holy Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam,” the booklet said.

Al-Mohammedi declares that Western resistance to the worldwide Islamic movement is futile.

“Today as I breathe the air of our newly found Islamic State of America before my trip this week to Eurabia I leave behind me an Internationalist Islamic Ideology which will be the future of America and Europe Inshallah,” he said.

“None will resist, you will submit! Islam will conquer the hearts of all christiandom, this is a definite reality. Every government has surrendered to the Revived Global Caliphate and those nations who resist will be placed under a police state within their realm.”

Al-Mohammedi added that non-Muslims have no place in his vision for the world.

“The Dhimmis have no empire and no right to rule anywhere in the world. Earth belongs to us, all of it,” he said.

Al-Mohammedi didn’t respond to WND’s subsequent requests for an interview.

WND previously reported that al-Mohammedi complained about WND’s reporting and threatened to shut down WND.

“‘If you do not comply then WND and it’s (sic) employees will become targets for our UIA agents who will eliminate you within America,’ said an email today from Faarooq al Mohammedi, who has said he is working on behalf of a Muslim organization called United Muslim Nations International organization,” the WND story said.

Islam analyst, WND columnist and Atlas Shrugs publisher Pamela Geller said the document has one aim: global Islamic supremecy.

“This document is dedicated to a ‘revival of Islamic culture,’ by which is meant a restoration of ‘the Global Islamic Civilization, its honored status, the unrivaled Universal Brotherhood and Sisterhood of the Muslim Ummah,’” Geller said.

She also noted that the booklet is completely in line with the stated goals of the Muslim Brotherhood.

“This refers, of course, to the restoration of the caliphate, the pan-national unity of the Muslims (which is also the goal of the Muslim Brotherhood),” she said.

Geller added that even though there are references to personal faithfulness in the document, it’s really a battle cry.

“So while the document speaks largely of matters of individual piety, marriage law, etc., it actually amounts to a call to warfare against and subjugation of non-Muslims under the Sharia,” Geller said.

She added, “In Islamic law only the caliph is authorized to declare and wage offensive jihad against infidel states. If the caliphate is restored, the present jihads worldwide will look like a time of peace compared to the wars that will be unleashed.”

American Enterprise Institute Middle East analyst Michael Rubin agreed, confirming, “the document is very much in line with jihadi philosophy.”

Islam analyst and Jihad Watch publisher Robert Spencer noted, “The document is pretty standard. However, it’s somewhat incoherently presented.”

The World According to The Donald

by: Joe Kovacs at WND

[Editors notes (EN) inserted by the Common Constitutionalist]

Donald Trump is again predicting President Obama will start a war with Iran solely to help his chances of getting re-elected this November.

The billionaire developer made his forecast both on the Internet and television Tuesday, initially tweeting: “Just as I predicted, Barack Obama is preparing a possible attack on Iran right before November.”

(EN: Not much of a prediction. I predict the world will possibly end this year, or possibly not.)

He then spoke via phone to Greta Van Susteren of Fox News, confirming: “Yes, I believe that we will end up in a war with Iran because I think Obama views that as politically good for him. … I have said for a year and a half that in the end, somewhere before the election we will end up in a form of war with Iran, and I think he’s doing it for political reasons.

(EN: I’ve never been a fan of The Donald. I believe he just likes the spotlight. That being said, I wouldn’t put it past this administration to do anything to secure this election. And up until the Bush’s, all modern wars, for good or bad, have been while democrats were in the Whitehouse. Woodrow Wilson, WWI; Franklin Roosevelt, WWII; Harry Truman, Korean War; John Kennedy / LBJ, Vietnam.)

Appearing somewhat incredulous at his sentiment, Van Susteren said, “You’re saying that the president is really thinking about doing the unthinkable for political advantage for himself, taking us to war. I think most people would say that’s beyond, that’s beyond fair.”

Trump responded, “I don’t think it’s beyond. That’s my opinion, and let’s see what happens. I hope that doesn’t happen.” (EN: Nothing is beyond, when you’re a radical.)

“What should happen is Iran has to be – despite their bravado – they have to be scared stiff right now because, I mean, they’ve just looked at what’s happened to other countries because we are the most powerful, and what we’ve done to others, whether we should have been there or shouldn’t have been there, is unbelievable. So what should happen is the right person should negotiate a phenomenal deal. Everything. We should get 100 percent of everything. I have predicted that I think it’s not going to go that way. We don’t negotiate. We don’t know how to negotiate.”

(EN: This is where The Donald falls off the rails. The old saying, “You don’t negotiate with terrorists”, is true. Especially Islamic terrorists. Why? Because you can’t. There is nothing you can offer that will be acceptable to them. Maybe we can negotiate that they kill us last.)

Trump personally labeled Obama as a “lousy negotiator,” and insisted progress could be made if the right person were chosen to hold talks with the Islamic republic.

(EN: Agreed. It is hard to negotiate, when you’re too busy apologizing.)

“We have all the cards,” said Trump. “Iran is crazy if they don’t sit down and negotiate because the same thing’s gonna happen to them as happened to Iraq and so many other places. And it’ll be long and nasty, but ultimately it’s the end of Iran as you know it today.”

(EN: Really Donald? What cards do we have? What happened to Iraq? Iran is loving what we did to Iraq. We did all the heavy lifting to create the vacuum for Iran to fill. After all, Iraq is central to Iran’s plan for the great Caliphate.)

Trump cited new polls that show Obama struggling in battleground states, increasing the chance of a military conflict with Iran:

“I see the polls that just came out [Tuesday] morning, where he’s actually losing, really for the first time, and he’s losing in swing states most importantly, and he’s losing fairly substantially. Now maybe that’s accurate and maybe it’s not. And polls are often times wrong.”
