It was a stormy Monday. I remember it well, as this particular Monday was different from all other Mondays. And I do remember it well for its momentousness and that it was just day before yesterday. Can you recall where you were when you heard the news that Sandra Lindsay, an ICU nurse at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, New York City, was the first American to receive the COVID vaccine?
I was in my office, some 250 miles away, but would swear that I heard trumpets sound as they hailed the end of the COVID scourge. Maybe it wasn’t trumpets. Maybe it was the feckless dronings of America’s worst Governor, Andrew Cuomo, as he tried to horn in on the action, congratulating those involved as if they were Neil Armstrong after his first Moon walk.
Of course Cuomo conspicuously left out Donald “fast track” Trump’s name from his speech.
But for those who are under the delusion that we’ll soon be able to discard our tribal masks, think again. This vaccine will likely change little for the foreseeable future.
And why you ask? I thought that this was what we’ve been waiting for – what the “experts” told us would be required to “get back to normal.”
Well, you’d be right – partly. The “experts” have said that a vaccine is what we needed – that it would be the game changer. But that was when they all thought the miracle shot was possibly still years away – at the same time raucously mocking that buffoon Trump for saying he would fast track it and it might be ready by … well … now.
Now that president buffoon was right again, the experts, their comrades in government and the media, are forced once again, to move the goalposts.
And sure enough, CNN wrote that day that, “Lindsay will be able to more safely visit family, friends, colleagues and patients. Soon, so too will millions of Americans.” (emphasis added)
What do you mean, “more safely.” Don’t they really mean that Lindsey will be able to safely visit family, friends, colleagues and patients, not just more safely?
No they don’t. They mean exactly what they wrote. On the day of the first vaccination, the leftists were already out on the field, digging up the goalposts, preparing to move them once again.
Apparently it takes two to three weeks for the antibodies to build up in your system.
Now let’s assume they do follow up in say three weeks to see if all went well for Sandra Lindsay. And what do you bet she’s still wearing a mask.
That’s the next goalpost shift. Mask wearing will still be required, until they can think of another means of control. And why?
Not two days after and I’ve already heard whispers (as it were) of their reasoning.
Whether you’re vaccinated or not, they’ll say that the COVID virus will still be able to live in your mouth and nose, so you may still be able to infect others.
So let’s not get all exited that the powers that be will just relinquish this new found authority and grant us our lives and our freedoms back because of some vaccine.
They know that fear is what controls the populace, and the mask is the face of fear. They’re not willing to give it up just yet.
