Ted Cruz Versus Bernie Sanders Will Settle Things Once and for All

Although polar opposites on every known and unknown political and social issue, Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders both have one important thing in common. They are both hated by their respective party elites.

The hatred for Cruz is obvious and palpable. Everyone who follows this stuff knows. But no Democrat has come out and proclaimed enmity toward Sanders. But it must be the case. The Democrat elite are not true socialist believers. They are statists who only wish to run the American Politburo. They don’t care, as does Sanders, about the little people. They may not come out and condemn him, but believe you me, behind closed doors, they’re scrambling to try to stop him. The Democrats elites are “Feelin the Bern!”Bern

No one, me included, thought at any time the fossilized socialist hippie from Vermont had any chance of unseating Hillary Clinton. But now I’m starting to wonder. Sanders is drawing tens of thousands of supporters in stadiums across the country to hear and cheer his workers-of-the-world-unite diatribe. It’s all utopian nonsense, but he enthusiastically believes it and the woefully informed Democrat base, of which there are already far too many, believe him and trust him.

They can tell he’s not selling them a disingenuous line of crap, as the other Democrats do. He truly believes in the socialist model for America.

And unlike the Republicans, these Democrats don’t care that he has no real executive experience. After all, he doesn’t need any. He has the instruction manual for the perfect society in the writings of Marx and Engels and Thomas Friedman and Robert B Reich.

Another advantage he has is that there aren’t 50 other socialists running against him. Cruz on the other hand, has a tougher time. He is the reasonable, thinking man’s Donald Trump. But with Trump in the race he will not be able to gain the traction necessary to obtain the nomination. He also has a dozen or more “conservatives” vying for the same musical chair. Many are faux conservatives who seem to say the right things but their past actions paint a different, more moderate picture.

But for our sakes, for our country’s sake, we need an election pitting these two opposite ideologies against one another. The time has come to finally decide what kind of country the citizens want – and whoever else is going to vote. The only way to find out is for Ted Cruz, the only consistently conservative constitutionalist, to square off against an honest, in-your-face socialist.

In most elections, we’ve seen the Republican and Democrat candidates actually agreeing on at least a few issues. That wouldn’t happen with these two. I think it’s safe to say there would not be a single issue on which they could find common ground. From healthcare, to taxes, to the military and the minimum wage. From public-sector versus private sector, to wealth distribution, immigration, climate change and energy. And personally, that’s what I’m looking for. No more melding of ideologies.

This country has been on a meandering path toward socialism for a century, and socialism appears to be winning the day. But now it’s crunch time. It’s time for the people to decide who we are as a nation. Enough of the socialist dalliances and half measures.

Are we all socialists like Sanders, or are there still enough true conservatives to turn the country back to some semblance of what was the world’s only constitutional Republic.

In my opinion, these two are the only ones who can force the country into that critical decision.
