In Defense of The Donald

As republicans our number one job – our overarching, maybe our only concern is to not upset anyone – particularly protected groups. We can’t say anything about the overwhelming and disproportionate amount of black crime, black murders, etc. They say this will anger the “black community.” We can’t stand up against same-sex marriage or any LGBT cause or we’ll anger the gay community. And we darn sure can’t have anything but respect and reverence for people who cross our southern border illegally, particular Mexicans. That is certain to cause ever single person of Latin heritage to instantly and forever turn against us.

And Donald Trump has broken this most important commandment, for he dared to be brutally honest about what’s really happening on the border and who is making the crossing.

Here’s a quick recap:

“When do we beat Mexico at the border? The US has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems,” Trump exclaimed in his now infamous speech.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

“But I speak to border guards and they tell us what we’re getting. And it only makes common sense. It only makes common sense. They’re sending us not the right people.”

“It’s coming from more than Mexico. It’s coming from all over South and Latin America, and it’s coming probably — probably — from the Middle East. But we don’t know. Because we have no protection and we have no competence, we don’t know what’s happening. And it’s got to stop and it’s got to stop fast.”

So now the soft gooey center of the Republican Party and faux-conservative intelligentsia have come out from hiding under their desks to line up against the Donald.

Former establishment standard bearer Mitt Romney told CNN: “Yes, I think he made a severe error in saying what he did about Mexican-Americans. And it’s unfortunate.” And in an obvious effort to further divide the right the reporter followed up with: “Do you think the candidates should speak up about that?” Predictably, Romney’s reply was “I think a number of them have.”

Rick Perry called Trumps remarks “offensive,” and that “he will have to stand up and defend those remarks – I never will.” Rick Santorum kind of said nothing while saying something. Jeb said that Trump is just doing this to inflame and to incite.”

“Trump’s comments are not just offensive and inaccurate, but also divisive,” Marco Rubio said. “Our next president needs to be someone who brings Americans together – not someone who continues to divide.

And then there’s my man Ted Cruz who said: “The Washington cartel doesn’t want to address that. The Washington cartel doesn’t believe we need to secure the borders. The Washington cartel supports amnesty and I think amnesty’s wrong, and I salute Donald Trump for focusing on it.” Way to go Ted!

So really – what did Trump say that was offensive – the truth? He didn’t say all Mexicans are rapists and criminals – but there are sure enough of them. Murderers, rapists, MS-13 gang members, drug and human traffickers. Want just a few? Here’s a link.

And really Marco? Listen to your own quote. “Our next president needs to be someone who brings Americans together.” But we are speaking of illegals, not Americans. Did you just misspeak? Was this just gibberish boilerplate or did you tip your hand?

So to heck with the whole lot of you cowardly Republicans. You just showed us all that nothing will be done at the border if you are elected, and that’s not acceptable.

I’m really starting to come around on The Donald. He’s still a progressive, but maybe his courage will rub off on others.

  1. I am dismayed that so far the winners of both the House and the Senate have betrayed their supporters in ’14. They flat-out lied.

  2. So far, of all the candidates it seems Donald Trump is the only one dealing with the truth. Fully one third of the prisoners are here illegally. He is the only one making sense about the economy and world affairs. He has great business experience and that is what our country needs. We don’t need another “community organizer” type individual leading us. Come on rhinos wake up we are in trouble and typical politician types can’t save us. we need someone with courage to stand up for what is right for this country.

    • Fellow Americans: Donald Trump is the FIRST person to actually speak the REAL truth in a long time. Our America, our U.S.A. is actually disappearing…thanks to Obama, Liberal Democrats & Republicans, greedy politicians, evil people from Muslim Terrorists (yes, I can say that word) to the traitors in our own government…actually supporting the terrorist and ISIS. Also, the Supreme Court is not our SUPREME Being.
They have caused the most enormous damage to our citizens ever. Several of them need to be impeached. Several more of our government officials must be impeached. Our Senators, Congress and House of Representatives will be out of a job, we will be out of our freedom…WAKE UP PEOPLE. If this does not stop AMERICA is doomed.

  3. I should have added that Mr. Trump has displayed courage with his comments on the invasion from the South which our administration and our own political parties are ignoring. These people have shown us their cowardice and self-interest.

  4. Donald was speaking off the cuff and may have generalized to much. Not to long ago the press was basically stating the same thing. Their narratives of illegal immigrants mentioned woman being raped on the journey and human trafficking.
Now when a Republican candidate speaks out he is a racist.
Ann Coulter pointed out we don’t need to cow down to the blacks, Hispanics or Gay community. All we need to do is appeal to the American voter that sat home in 2012.
The Republicans need to give them a reason to get up and vote.
I think Donald calling it like it is may just do that.
Americans other than Democrats are tired of the same ole talk with no action. We need a leader. I believe that is also the reason Scott Walker is so popular. He took on the unions. ]
Donald has taken on the Politically Correct.

    • Yes, a big thanks to Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee who both stood up for Mr. Trump’s telling the truth about the enormus problem with illegal border crossings and crimes being committed by a great number of them. President Obama recently referred to them as gang-bangers in a townhall type meeting and it’s perfectly okay. Donald Trump says things much less inflamatorty, and the media smear him and throw him under the bus. Mr. Trump addressed this problem in a book he wrote a few years ago, so he his opinion on illegal immigration is not new to the media nor those Americans who have been paying attention and doing their homework on the possible candidates. Media bias at its worst. God speed to all the truth tellers, perhaps it’s time people demanded the truth and honesty from the media, too.

  5. Trump may be blunt but he is honest in what he believes.and says. We have been without this honesty for too long!!!

  6. Newsmax had a poll today, and Trump is not fairing well (but don’t know how old the poll is). But, I have his bumper-sticker on my car, and I’ll go to bat for him til the bitter end. This article is soooo correct, he didn’t say all Mexicans are rapists! All the GOP candidates jumped in to crucify him, and that’s backfiring too. I’m hearing quite a bit of support for him – more than other candidates, so I hope he continues and gets more positive attention. Go Trump!

  7. Right on with Donald Trump!!! Hooray for the truth, the WHOLE truth and nothing but… There is no truth among politicians…

  8. Well, well, well, we are really
finding out who the RINO’s are! !
I think we may have finally found
someone who really cares & is
not afraid to voice his opinions
    – – the “establishment” be damned! ! !
