Another Debate

Ok, so I didn’t watch the republican debate last night. They had a lot of nerve scheduling it against Monday Night Football. And not just Monday Night Football, but the Patriots!

So now I have to play catch up.

Here’s what I’ve heard so far. It’s been confirmed for me; Romney is a big government progressive republican. He’s dropped any pretense of Tea Partyism. He’s gone full-bore for support of beltway hack republicans. I do agree with John McRomney on one thing. Social Security is not a Ponzi scheme. It’s much worse. You must opt into a Ponzi scheme & you may also opt out at any time. It’s purely voluntary. See the difference?

Should Mitt show up at any Tea Party event, he should be booed off the stage.

Ditto for Ron Paul. He’s wacked. His stance on Foreign Policy is so far gone, it’s no longer even amusing. I can see George Washington blaming the Continental Congress for Englands’ attack on us. That’s enough of that.

I’m glad to see Perry sticking to his guns regarding Social Security. He can win this argument if he can educate the dopes out there using the Galveston Model or, as Herman Cain extolled, the Chilean Model. I still can’t support Perry largely due to his immigration stance. That just flys in the face of the Tea Party.

At this point, and I’ll probably regret this but, I’m liking Newt a whole bunch. He’s tough, smart, articulate & has all the right answers. I need to find out if he’s had a come to Jesus moment and is truly the Newt of old, or just really good actor.

I’ll have more as I get further into it.

  1. ok, here goes: agree that ron paul is too wacky on his foreign policy stance, which is a shame, because other than that, he’d be great. a real fiscal hawk. like you’ve said before, would make a good treasury secretary.i think both perry and romney lean too far to the right for my taste.having a wishy-washy centrist will not win the election for the republicans(mccain).huntsman is a charlatan.santorem(sp?) doesn’t stand a chance;maybe 2016,if he can accomplish something by then. bachman wasn’t as wooden last night. she let her passion come through.but i’m still not convinced she’s ready to be the next that brings me to cain and newt.i really like cain, his shoot from the hip style, and business approach to government.newt has been spot on in the last 2 debates, getting stronger.also, as you’ve said before,he’d eat BO alive in a one on one debate.he’s funny, witty, articulate, doesn’t need a teleprompter, not afraid to pull punches. not sure if i trust him all the way though because of his history.i heard on the radio this a.m. that if bachmann drops out, palin will opt in. so maybe the dance card in this race isn’t complete yet.could get even more interesting.stay tuned.

    • Ok, that’s it. Don’t tell me you can’t write an article for me. That was spot on, well thought & most importantly, I agree with it all. I heard maybe Palin will just back Perry & not run herself. Although, with her clout, she could get in anytime.

      • thanks for the compliment! i’ve heard that about palin too(backing perry). not sure if i would vote for her if she does jump in.lots of family baggage/drama that america could do without.passionate, but not always articulate.we’ll see. now if only allen west would throw his hat in…

        • Now that I’ve seen her speak in person, it’s hard not to love her. I kind of like the fact all her baggage has been aired & examined. What else could they possibly find. The answer is, there’s nothing new to find. All the books about her, articles, slanderous rumors. Remember the 1000’s of emails they poured through. Just found out she was an honest person who treated people well. She wouldn’t be my first choice, but I wouldn’t have the slightest hesitation in voting for her. West is definitely not getting in. Whoever it is, Rubio is likely to be the V.P. choice.
