Someone or group of someones is funding this ever-expanding “migrant caravan” heading for a showdown at the U.S./Mexico border.
So who is it? As of yet, no one seems to know for sure, and very few seem interested in finding out
We’ve heard Vice President Mike Pence say: “At the president’s direction I spoke to President [Juan Orlando] Hernandez of Honduras. He told me that the caravan that’s now making its way through Mexico headed for the southern border was organized by leftist organizations and financed by Venezuela.”
Glenn Beck theorized the same, saying that “this is a Honduran political stunt organized by a leftist group that has ties to the former Marxist president who was exiled after a coup in 2009.”
Like the Democrats after the 2016 election, Beck says Honduran Marxists “never got over it.” He claims that the organizers and financiers of the march “have ties to the Castros in Cuba and Maduro in Venezuela. This stunt is designed for media fallout, and it’s timed very specifically for maximum exposure.”
Days earlier, the Mexican ambassador to the United States Geronimo Gutierrez also stated he thought the march “was not the result of a grassroots effort” but was “politically motivated.” He didn’t expound on the claim.
Whoever it is and whatever the motivation, one thing is for certain: This soon-to-be invasion force is costing a small fortune.
Fox News host Laura Ingraham asked: “Who is funding the migrant ‘caravan’? Each migrant’s passage can cost as much as $7K each. Per capita income Honduras is $2.3 K.”
And make no mistake – this is a potential invasion.
Beck asks: “When was the last time you saw more than seven thousand people, marching towards another country’s border, and carrying their own flag? The answer for most of us is never, unless you’ve served in the military. This is an invasion. There’s no other way to describe it.”
New estimates cited by El Universal, a Mexican newspaper, say the caravan now has 14,000 people. And the approximate makeup of the “caravan” is north of 85 percent male, between the ages of 16 and 40.
