The American Dream Is Racist

What is the first thing one thinks of when someone mentions Colorado? First it might be the mountains, although lately the marijuana legalization debate has been front and center. After that one might think of Birkenstock wearing, granola eating liberals. What doesn’t come to mind is race or racism.

Yet there are two outspoken black women who are railing against racism, both in Colorado. Both women took part in an interview on “The Big Something,”  an NPR radio series.

One of the women, Stephany Rose , “argued that minorities have been conditioned to accept white supremacy by American society.”

Gee – and here I thought that Obama’s election was supposed to usher in a new post-racial America, but maybe I just misheard it. I guess they meant post-constitutional.

The other woman, Heidi Lewis said that, “White supremacist ideology is alluring. Not just to those that identify as white, but because it is the norm in terms of the dominative narrative because it is such a normalized perspective, that there are people regardless of race, regardless of ethnicity, that buy into what white supremacist ideology is. And that’s the only way that hegemony works.”

Wow, Ms. Lewis – those are some mighty fancy words you’re using. You must be educated. Oh – did I forget to mention that both women are? Stephany Rose – Dr. Stephany Rose is a professor of Women’s and Ethnic Studies at the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs. Heidi Lewis – Dr. Heidi Lewis is an assistant professor of Feminist and Gender Studies at Colorado College.

So both have advanced doctorate degrees – and this in a country where “white supremacy” is accepted as the norm. How did that happen? I guess we white supremacists have to start paying better attention – allowing two black women to get advanced degrees while we weren’t looking.

“It’s really difficult, I find, to try to have the conversations we want to have and to do the things we want to do when people’s thought is still stuck there. So white supremacist ideology doesn’t work simply because white people invest in it, but because there are other communities that invest in the idea that this is normal, that capitalism is normal.”

Wait… What?! How, or why did she sneak capitalism in? Could it be she is not only a black separatist, but also a Marxist? Now who does that sound like? Maybe our dear president? I wonder if she also attended Columbia University, or maybe just a guest lecturer?

And we hear this refrain constantly from the pampered put upon race baiting class. They always say they want to have a conversation on race, but they never do.

We all know they don’t want to have a conversation, nor do they want to solve the problem, which by the way, doesn’t exist, or at least wouldn’t to any great extent without the race industry professionals purposely fomenting hate and envy.

They know full well what they’re doing, with their incendiary speech. It’s how they earn their living – and I’ll bet they get paid fairly well for it.

They also know if these fake problems were ever solved – if racial and gender equality were ever achieved as they claim to want – both these women would be out of jobs.
