Leftist Politics Clash with the Fitness of the Children

Liberals are supposed to be all about the children and children’s health. We’re constantly bombarded with ads telling us to get the kids out of the house and get some exercise – run around.

The NFL sponsors a Play60 program, where they encourage children of all ages to get out play football and other physical activities. They even have a program called Fuel Up to Play 60, where they partner with schools.

According to cdc.gov/healthyschools:

“Physical activity is vital for a child’s development and lays the foundation for a healthy and active life. … helping to achieve and maintain a healthy weight… building strong bones and muscles… improving cardiovascular fitness. Children and adolescents should have 60 minutes (1 hour) or more of physical activity daily. Aerobic: Most of the 60 or more minutes a day should be either moderate- or vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity and should include vigorous-intensity physical activity at least 3 days a week.”

School districts across the country understand the importance of physical fitness, for the betterment of the children.

That is until their leftist politics clash with the interests of “the children.” read more

Video Podcast – The Pipe Bomber – I Succumbed to #MeToo

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Okay, the inept pipe bomber, Cesar Sayoc. Yep, he is apparently a registered Republican.

That’s true. But the more we learn about this dirt bag, the less Republican he becomes.

He may say he’s a Republican, but his thoughts and actions betray him. I examine them and conclude he has much more in common with the radical left and democrats than Trump and the Republicans.

The #MeToo movement started out innocently enough and did some good. But it has devolved into movement where it seems everything is now considered harassment.

Even a simple joke. I began to load a joke onto my website but stopped. This movement has now caused me to question whether a harmless, albeit slightly sexist joke would land me in hot water. And that’s the shame of an otherwise helpful movement being co-opted by radicals. read more

Woke Progressives are a Tiny Minority

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Last week the Atlantic.com, of all places, posted an article dispelling the myth that there is an fast growing progressive movement on the rise in this country.

It’s called being “Woke.” For those unfamiliar, or otherwise have a life, being “woke” is like you figured it all out – that you, more than others, particularly those on the right, have your finger on the pulse of the nation. You’ve been awakened.

In fact these “woke” Americans are the most clueless among us and willfully fall prey to every leftist claim and theory they stumble upon. Unfortunately, the same can be said of some on the right, who too trap themselves in a maze of conspiracy theories.

For the “woke,” the trap is political correctness.

The study the Atlantic cites is entitled, “Hidden Tribes: A Study of America’s Polarized Landscape.” read more

The Left’s Issues are the Same as They Were 44 Years Ago

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

No Audio Version

Okay, maybe they’re not all the same. For instance, one issue is decidedly different. Back in 1974, we weren’t concerned with global warming. Instead, America was caught in the grip of GLOBAL COOLING hysteria. Yes, the next Ice Age was right around the corner.

However, according to today’s leftists, many of the same things they were griping about almost a half a century ago must not have improved much, if at all.

Now how can that be, you may legitimately ask. How, after progressive presidents like Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, George H W Bush, Bill Clinton, the second term of George W Bush and Barack Obama, could the left still be whining about the very same issues? Add to that, a democrat controlled legislature for most of those decades.

Yet they are. And I suppose this is how “old sayings” become established. read more

Steven Crowder Claims Columbus Wasn’t All Bad

Columbus Day has come and gone. or is it Native American’s Day, or Indigenous People’s Day, or whatever.

Leave it to Steven Crowder to set us straight and explain that Columbus wasn’t the genocidal white European manic he’s been made out to be or that the Injuns that he supposed slaughtered weren’t everything we’ve been taught.

Taylor Swift and Scott Kelly Surrender to the Twitter Mob

from Piers Morgan at The Daily Mail:

Yes – anti-gun liberal, U.K. nut-job Piers Morgan, who I now find I agree with more than less. Funny ole world isn’t it!

There’s only one winner in Taylor Swift and Scott Kelly’s gutless surrender to the howling Twitter mob – President Trump

Oh Taylor.

Why, why, WHY?

Just when I thought you were the only sane celebrity left in this increasingly mad world of frenzied partisan bulls**t, you suddenly decide to go all ‘woke’ on me.

As you once sang: ‘Why would you wanna break a perfectly good heart?’

Of course, we all know the answer.

Taylor Swift, who is hugely popular in middle America, hasn’t chosen this moment to abandon her very sensible apolitical stance and come out as a Democrat because she genuinely thought: ‘Oh, I must alienate half my audience today.’

No, she’s done it because the howling Twitter mob hammered her into submission. read more

Podcast – It’s a Social Justice Weekend

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Yes, it’s an all social justice podcast, as I discuss Nike’s decision to promote Colin Kaepernick and his bogus “Stand for Something” platform. I explain that while this may seem like a bad business decision, it really isn’t. Nike understands its target audience, and it isn’t those guys burning their shoes.

In part two of social justice weekend, I discuss the reboot of the `90s television series, Party of Five. But this time around, it’s decidedly NOT all-American. What a surprise, that a Disney channel would promote illegal immigration. read more

Cultural Appropriation is Evidently not Flattering

Unless you are a democrat trying to beat a conservative Republican in a Senate race.

It’s said that “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.” That is, to imitate someone is to pay the person a genuine compliment.

Take for example the modern day British Royal Family and in particular, the lovely Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton – wife of Prince William. Ever since her engagement to Wills, she’s been the envy of England and the Western World.

Her hair, her clothing, shoes and jewelry – everything she wears becomes an instant classic and is sought by her female fan base. It seems not five minutes after she is seen in something new, fashionistas are searching the web for knockoffs. Throngs of women want to look and dress like Kate.

And last I checked, she doesn’t seem the least bit upset by it.

However for many, particularly leftist minorities, such imitation is not considered flattering, but cultural appropriation.

Wikipedia defines cultural appropriation as, “the adoption of elements of a minority culture by members of the dominant culture. It is distinguished from an equal cultural exchange due to an imbalance of power, often as a byproduct of colonialism and oppression.” read more

Should Trigger Warnings be Required on all Conservative Correspondence, Writings, Podcasts, Broadcasts and Classroom Syllabuses

Recently the College Fix found a conservative college professor.

I will expand on this, but I’d like that first sentence to sink in a bit – a conservative college professor. They are as rare as the critically endangered northern hairy nosed wombat, of which there are only 163 known.

Now that I think about it, there may be more northern hairy nosed wombats.

But the College Fix found one. His name is Professor Duke Pesta. He’s an English professor at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. And how about that name – “Duke.” He has to be conservative.

About a year and a half ago, Duke felt the need to draft a two-page contract, “to counter the trend of infantilizing college students when it comes to academic debate and the free exchange of ideas on campus.”

His class involves the study of literature from days gone by, and as such, may contain content that today’s students may find offensive. read more

A Common Language is Handy When Learning how to Skydive

Say you and your family decide to take a vacation. But instead of the normal touristy destinations, you place your brain in a box and go to Russia, or Pakistan or some other place that isn’t Americanized, or at least not necessarily accommodating of Americans.

You arrive, and right of the bat you realize this is a mistake. You know where you need to get to, but no one speaks English and none of the signage is recognizable.

Then, as luck would have it, something happens – some sort of disaster – an Earthquake or something. And there you are with your family in tow all looking at you for guidance. People are running hither and yon. Police are yelling out instructions, but you can’t understand a word. Pardon the vernacular, but you’re pretty much screwed.

Now imagine something very similar here in the United States. read more
