With The Supreme Court in the Balance – This Election is No Joke

by: the Common Constitutionalist

It’s on to South Carolina. Yes, the presidential primary, which has been dragging on since the day after Obama was elected to his second term, is finally in full swing. All the candidates are jockeying for position – all the nonsense we’ve had to endure is finally coming into view.

And now with the recent exit of two more on the Republican side, Christie and Fiorina, we are down to a much more reasonable six candidates. Its actually only five – Carson is out – he just hasn’t announced it yet. Oh, I almost forgot Jim Gilmore. He may a force going forward. After all, he did garner 125 votes in the New Hampshire primary, although that was about half the 240 votes that Vermin Supreme received on the democrat side. But what democrat wouldn’t vote for a guy who looks like a Viking and wears a boot on his head. Sounds like a mainstream democrat, or a college professor.

On the democrat side the race has and will continue to be focused on who can give away more of our money to those who have not earned it or are otherwise undeserving. On the right, the issues are a bit more diverse, or at least more defined.

Our candidates quibble over their varying views on Obamacare, immigration, taxes and spending. Yet something has gone virtually unmentioned throughout this campaign. We haven’t heard it out on the stump (much) and the debates appear bereft of questions from the moderators. I am speaking of the black-robed 800 lb. Gorillas in the room – the Supreme Court. read more

Is Rubio Using a Marketing 101 Strategy?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

It has been said it simply wasn’t Marco Rubio’s night on Saturday. It’s been said he stumbled and was tripped up causing him to revert back to a canned and practiced statement about how Obama has known all along what he wanted to do after he was elected. Rubio repeatedly insisted that Obama is not incompetent, he’s a radical. He didn’t say radical – he said Obama knows exactly what he’s doing – the radical is implied.

As has been widely reported, Marco Rubio repeated four times, essentially that same canned talking point during Saturday’s debate, for which he was called out by blowhard Chris Christie – and now the media and pundit class. For this many have taken to calling him Marco Robot and Marco Roboto.

But look at Trump’s slogan: “Make America Great Again.” How many times has he repeated that? By this time, who doesn’t know it? Of course we have no idea of what it really means other than Trump says we’re going to “Make America Great Again.” He did what any good marketing agent would do – keep hammering it until it sticks.

It’s no different than “15 minutes can save you 15%,” or the old and highly successful Miller Lite ad, “Tastes Great – Less Filling.” Does anyone really know if spending 15 minutes on a Geico website will actually save 15%? Of course not and who cares? They don’t. All they care about is that everyone knows the slogan, equates it with Geico and if it’s repeated often enough it becomes some sort of quasi-fact. read more

Podcast – Black man Guns Down White Cop – College Textbook Written by Obamacare Architect – Rise of the Mutant Lice

On this episode I discuss the cowardly act of a black man who guns down an innocent white police officer while he’s pumping gas. College students across our great nation are being assigned a public finance textbook written by Jonathan Gruber, the architect of Obamacare. And hide your children! It’s the attack of the Mutant Head Lice! read more

Podcast – Trump Anchor Baby Uproar – No More Repeal and Replace – Google Determines Election

In this episode I discuss The Donald’s latest “Outrageous” remark, which wasn’t. The nerve of him calling our country’s greatest gift, the children of illegal invaders, “Anchor babies.”

Pundits say the GOP’s greatest challenge is to repeal and replace Obamacare with something even better! Yeah! Replacing one government program with another – and can Google actually determine the outcome of our next presidential election? Maybe so. read more

School Lunch Programs – Oh It Gets Worse

by: the Common Constitutionalist

So you think the free school lunch program won’t get any more ridiculous? Think again. When it comes to progressive government policy, there’s no such thing as too ridiculous.

Last week I wrote an article about supposedly hungry children who broke into a school because they evidently equate free food with school. I also reported that there are now government summer lunch trucks that roam the cities passing out “healthy meals” to our starving waifs.

Now I don’t know what happened to the four Charlotte North Carolina teens who broke into the school, but all that could have been avoided by them knowing just one toll-free number.

“The U.S. Department of agriculture has launched a hotline students and parents can call to find free meal sites in their area,” writes EAGnews.  They added that, “Anyone can call the hotline and after giving a zip code, can be given ‘the nearest site where meals are provided by the USDA.’” read more

Obamacare Is Saved Again – Next up – Crony Corporatism

by: the Common Constitutionalist

The ruling is in and the debates have begun. It’s a great day for the left. It’s a great day for both parties. Democrats got what they wanted and Republicans now do not have to legislate. It’s a win-win.

But at least some on the right aren’t happy. Judge Andrew Napolitano’s reaction on Fox News  was stunned amazement. “What [Roberts] did was to suggest that plain, ordinary English words, which are not ambiguous in their meaning, somehow to six of the justices in the majority are ambiguous and therefore they can interpret them however they want,” said Napolitano.

“If they had followed the law, this would’ve been a very simple case. The language in the statute was very clear – and if they had interpreted the language the way it was written, the government would have lost,” said Heritage Foundations  Hans von Spakovsky.

Twila Brase of the Citizens Council for Health Freedom said that “Without the rule of law, it becomes the rule of power – all up to interpretation. Claims of intent and outside interpretations of intent will now rule, not the actual words written in the law. When we start allowing the loose interpretation of law based on after-the-fact claims of intent, the foundation of the rule of law crumbles.”

There are many more losers than winners that will come from this decision. Obviously we conservatives, who have been warning of the pitfalls lost. The American people are huge losers as they will see care decline and prices skyrocket. The rule of law lost and certainly the Constitution. We voters also lost, for its apparent that no other branch of government will stand up and challenge the black robed oligarchs. read more

Inverted Flag Means We Are in Distress

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Such an uproar over a T-shirt I haven’t seen since the donning of the “I Heart Chick-fil-A” at a Pennsylvania schools LGBT event.

This time it’s not individuals who ended up in hot water, but a retail clothier, PacSun. By now you may have heard that the clothing retailer removed a shirt from the racks and shelves portraying an image of an upside down American flag.

CNS News  reported that “The $24 T-shirt, sold online and in selected stores, was part of rapper A$AP Rocky’s clothing line, and allegedly was meant to symbolize a nation in distress.

Well, the T-shirt sparked a twitter “Hashtag” campaign in which one of the participants was actor James woods. He tweeted: “Please, every follower of mine, please #Boycott PacSun. Disgusting trashing of American flag on Memorial Day.”

A supporter of the campaign posted on Facebook that “I understand freedom of speech but this shirt, displayed prominently at the entrance of your store, for Memorial Day weekend is more distasteful and disrespectful than anything I thought I’d see. I will not be shopping at PacSun again.”

Okay, I get the outrage and the boycott. After all, many of us understand that we are losing our country and witness constant reminders of it seemingly on a daily basis. read more

Podcast – Militarization of the Police – Paul Krugman is an Idiot & Robber Foils Himself

In this episode I discuss how and why our cops are becoming a domestic army and how wrong it is. If there was a question about Paul Krugman’s competence, there shouldn’t be – he’s incompetent, and pepper spray is definitely not a criminal’s best friend.

Eugenics and Obamacare – And So It Begins

by: the Common Constitutionalist

When people think of eugenics the natural tendency is to conjure up images of Hitler and the Nazis trying to create the master race. Yet many are unaware that the eugenics movement began in America and in the early 20th century. California and New York were at the forefront.

Funded by the Carnegie Institution and Rockefeller Foundation, researchers at major universities such as Harvard, Yale, Stanford and Princeton explored various methods of forced segregation, sterilization and extermination of entire bloodlines.

In 1909 California passed laws allowing eugenicists to forcibly sterilize upwards of 60,000 citizens, excluding thousands from marrying and segregating thousands more. They masked their dirty deeds with flowery titles such as the Human Betterment Foundation – because who could be against the betterment of humanity. This is not unlike the Planned Parenthood abortion factories being named women’s health centers – because who could be against women’s health.

The Rockefeller Foundation helped fund the eugenics movement in Germany and was the benefactor of a program for an infamous practitioner of the pseudoscience, Josef Mengele. read more
