The Obamacare Scheme may be Imploding Ahead of Schedule

by: the Common Constitutionalist

IBD wrote  last week that the, “Illinois’ insurance regulator said ObamaCare premiums in the state will jump as high as 55%. The Obama administration’s response to this and other news of massive rate hikes: Don’t worry. Be happy.”

Yes, be happy that this fall Illinois Obamacare premiums will increase by an average of 48% – the Bronze by 44%, the Silver by 45% and the Gold by 55%.

What ever happened to that $2500 savings we were promised? Well, some will save – in fact, make out like bandits. Those being subsidized will see their subsidies increase, allowing plans to be offered for less than $100 per month – for every increase in our premium means an increase in the subsidy.

And if you think Illinois is an outlier, think again. As one state’s losses pile up, other states will follow. Nationwide, insurers and exchanges are recording massive losses, which means the rest of us will be stuck holding the bag with 40-50 percent increases every year to pay for those losses and the subsidized. read more

Podcast – 49ers Quarterback’s Really Bad Day – Reuters and USNI News See Things Differently Regarding Dustup Between U.S. and Iran

Colin Kapernick, Quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, was caught sitting during the pregame National Anthem. He wasn’t in deep meditation, concentrating on the game. He didn’t merely neglect to stand. No – he was making a statement regarding the oppression of black people in America.

Two differing reports on the very same event happened recently. The lefty news reporting agency Reuters, shall we say, sugar-coated the incident off the coast of Iran between an American Destroyer and Iranian patrol boats, whereas USNI News gave us a full and correct accounting of events as they really occurred. read more

Be Prepared for Iran to Take More Hostages

by: the Common Constitutionalist

What happens when you give stuff away? Logically you think demand for the item would rise. I’m not talking about giving away a free pencil eraser with every hundred dollar purchase. I’m talking about something of real value.

By the way – for those under the age of 25, a pencil eraser is an old-fashioned manual delete function.

I’m talking about giving away free televisions or smart phones, etc., with no strings attached. Do you think you might have a line encircling your store three or four times over? Of course you would.

Or what if you were a dog or cat owner and someone steals your animal – holding it for an exorbitant ransom – and you pay it. Just don’t harm the animal, you say. There will be no police involvement – no investigation of any kind.

The animal is returned safely and all appears to be well – except that it isn’t. Because of this one incident, you have now become a citywide target for every criminal wishing to make a quick buck.

By simply giving in the first time, the criminal element now considers you a patsy and your animal the unwitting victim.

Well, the inept Obama administration is of course the pet owner and any American, military or civilian, who travels to or near Iran are the pets. read more

I Guess Black Lives Don’t Matter

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I thought black lives mattered – at least certainly more than white lives. Is this not the refrain we’ve been hearing since the lawful and necessary shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson last year?

Heck – we’ve heard and seen whites get booed off the stage for having the nerve to claim that “All Lives Matter.” “Oh no they don’t,” say the Black Lives Matter (BLM) indoctrinated faithful.

Yet it seems black lives only matter when they want them to protest, riot and destroy others’ property. When it comes to actually bettering black lives, they don’t really give a crap. In fact, it’s worse than that. Prominent blacks and black organizations campaign against the bettering of the very people they lie about representing.

Other than the obvious, the obvious being that they are black, what do Barack Obama, the NAACP and BLM all have in common? Sure, they are all radicals, but one else? Answer: all three oppose improving educational opportunities for black children.

It’s well known that Obama sends his children to the upscale posh private school, Sidwell Friends, at a cost of almost $40,000 per student per year. That’s more than most inner-city black families make in a year. read more

Podcast – ISIS Recruiter Captured After Obama Released Him – Mike Rowe Gives Voting Advice – AK-47 Store Opens at Moscow Airport

A veteran terrorist was reportedly captured attempting to flee Libya for Tunisia. So what. Lots of terrorist are captured. What makes this guy so special? Well, he is one of a growing number of jihadists or terror leaders who have been released by Obama over the years and I’m sure there will be many more.

Mike Rowe, of “Dirty Jobs” and “Somebody’s Gotta Do It” fame was asked by a fan to implore his fans to get out and vote in the upcoming election. Mike had some great and rather unexpected advice for the fan – something you never hear from other TV or movie stars.

You too can purchase an AK-47 – from a store in the Moscow airport. Yes – that is correct. The new Kalashnikov store at the airport is now selling replica rifles (that look very real), hats, umbrellas and even ‘T’-shirts emblazoned with “I Love AK” on it. What a great idea. What could possibly go wrong? read more

Has Obama Found a Way To Build His Civilian National Security Force?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Remember what Obama said during a speech in 2008? “We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

We all assumed he would attempt to build one from the ground up – from nothing. Well, we may have been wrong about that. Oh, not his intention – just the method to his mad end.

Rather than build his “Civilian National Security Force” from scratch, it now appears he may instead be opting for a hostile takeover. Most don’t realize it, as his takeover is happening in real time. Things are much easier to spot when seen in an historic perspective. It’s never easy to spot these trends as they happen.

Many don’t see the successful federal usurpation of police departments across the nation. Could this be the “Civilian National Security Force” that Obama said he wanted? Could be. To date, several city and town police forces have been taken over and are now being effectively run by the federal government – and all it takes is a single “claim” of police wrongdoing for the feds to swoop in and take over. read more

I’d Cast My Vote for Trump’s Speechwriter

by: the Common Constitutionalist

On his Monday evening radio program, Mark Levin spoke of Donald Trump’s foreign policy/immigration speech. He said: “Trump gave a pretty good speech today and people ought to listen to it. When he’s focused – when he’s on message – and when he says things that most of us agree with, we ought to acknowledge that – if we’re going to be intellectually honest.”

This may be the first time I’ve kind of disagreed with Mark. I, like Mark and many true conservatives who haven’t yet partaken of the Trump Kool-Aid, thought it was a great speech – probably the best he’s done. But this wasn’t a Trump speech. It was measured and well thought out, lacking (most of) the usual bombast – a speech I personally don’t believe Trump could write himself. And that’s my problem. I’m not sure this is Trump’s message – at least not consistently.

We’ve all heard Trump speak extemporaneously and it’s not pretty. It used to be effective, but now it’s just tiresome and repetitive. But lately he has confined himself, for the most part, to reading teleprompter speeches – which is much better for him.

However, it is painfully obvious when he strays from the prompter. He repeats himself – he overemphasizes his statements to the point where they sound cartoonish. He then either run’s out of exclamations or realizes he’s strayed and it’s back on the teleprompter. read more

Iran Wants More Pallets of Cash

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I wonder if now that the Obama administration has paid the ransom “we owed” the Iranian regime, whether it will set a precedent for others to put their hands out and demand, or at least request funds from the U.S. treasury?

Heck, even before the precedent, the Israeli government asked the U.S. to bump up its annual military stipend from $3 billion to $5 billion. Those dirty, money-grubbing Jews – asking for an additional $2 billion. You might think that, but they are blaming the Obama administration for the fact that they must request it in the first place.

It seems the Middle East is poised to get a lot more dangerous thanks to the huge infusion of cash which was part of the US-Iran nuclear agreement. So thanks to Obama, Israel expects to have to spend a lot more on defense. They do have a point.

Now in, we’ll call the post-ransom period, another has come forward asking for cash. Our old buddy, “former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is asking President Obama to release nearly $2 billion in Iranian assets frozen in a New York bank account.” read more

Obama – the Great Divider

from my Joke Man Fred:

After the terrorist slaughter of policemen in Dallas, it’s fair to say that Barack Obama might well be the worst president in U.S. history. Here’s why.

The keynote of America’s domestic politics for the last 60 or 70 years—from sometime between the Supreme Court’s 1954 Brown v Board of Education school desegregation decision and the 1964 Civil Rights Act—has been the nation’s effort to undo the heinous wrongs that slavery and Jim Crow perpetrated on black Americans ever since the first slave was brought here in the 1640s. I am old enough to have had friends who were Freedom Riders, white college kids who went to Mississippi to register black citizens to vote. One I’ll never forget returned with tales of old people, whom legal chicanery had blocked from voting all their lives, marveling in almost Biblical language that such a miracle could be occurring in their own lifetimes, in their own towns. I remember how Sherriff Bull Connor turned the fire hoses and German Shepherds on those civil rights protesters, black and white, in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1963, and how that same year governor George Wallace stood at the door of the University of Alabama to prevent the enrollment of two black students, proclaiming himself Jefferson Davis’s spiritual heir and vowing “segregation forever!” But what I most remember is skinny Deputy Attorney General Nicholas Katzenbach walking heroically down that hostile Alabama street—alone, but followed by federal marshals—to force Wallace to stand aside and let the two students enter. It was as heart stopping as Gary Cooper walking toward the showdown on Main Street in High Noon.

I also remember how civil rights zeal turned into zealotry. We made the integration of our schools, and then the closing of the black-white achievement gap, our principal educational goal for half a century, with the unintended consequence that we neglected actual education and turned urban schools into machines for perpetuating black failure. Judge-ordained busing in Boston, completely contrary to the terms of the Civil Rights Act, made the schools more segregated than ever. A judge-ordained Kansas City school-funding-equalization order, forcing local taxpayers to shell out $2 billion  over  a decade, including building a bizarrely unnecessary Olympic swimming pool, produced no educational gains whatsoever and proved to anyone with eyes to see that money was not the key to racial equality in education.

Then, the colleges turned to affirmative action in admissions, the ed schools taught their students not how to teach or what facts they needed to transmit but only “social-justice” ideology, and deans of diversity began to outnumber actual teachers on college campuses. The professors themselves brought the stupendous achievements of Western culture under the suspicion of creating nothing but racial inequality (and later an unimaginably broad smorgasbord of inequity). They replaced Plato with Ta-Nehisi Coates. read more

Still More Questions Than Answers Awaiting the WikiLeaks Benghazi Dump

by: the Common Constitutionalist

I’ve begun again listening to Rush Limbaugh on the radio, until he starts in with the rah-rah Trump segments – and then I must switch off the radio.

A couple of days ago I tuned in to hear Rush talking about Julian Assange at WikiLeaks. Evidently Assange is busy preparing yet another massive email document dump – this time pertaining to Hillary Clinton and Benghazi. I perked right up – mainly because I do so want her to pay for her crimes involving the Benghazi attack and the subsequent cover-up.

But I’m also extremely interested to find out the truth and if it jibes with what I started writing not 10 days after the attack. My first article on the subject, “Benghazi was no Coincidence,”  was published on Sept. 21, 2012, 10 days after the attack, followed up with another in October – “Benghazi… the Cover Up,” and many more for months after.

Now I hear through Limbaugh that the material Julian Assange has, backs up most of what we posited early on after the attack.

From what Julian Assange has leaked thus far, it appears that Glenn Beck, the Blaze, the Independent UK and I were right about a lot of things – things that at the time caused us to be accused of being crazy, conspiracy nuts and of course fear-mongerers. We were accused of spreading rumors about ambassador Stevens, his purpose in Benghazi and the direct involvement of Obama and his inner circle.

Some said that the cover up was strictly about Obama’s reelection and the eventual election of Hillary this time around. I didn’t believe it then and I still don’t now. Sure, that played a part – but that was far from the only reason. read more
