Flint Lead Problems Just Got Worse

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Flint, Michigan is known for one thing these days – lead poisoning.

In 2014 Flint began drawing its drinking water from the local Flint River while they waited to connect to a regional water source. Residents began complaining about the water quality and in 2015 it was discovered that some children in Flint had increased levels of lead in their blood. The Flint River water apparently had elevated lead levels and the children had ingested it.

It was all over from that point, for we all know that lead poisoning is very serious as it affects brain function, etc.

Now the residents of Flint have another health problem – and this time it’s real. I’ll explain the second half of that sentence in a bit.

It seems that the people of Flint have been sufficiently frightened to death by the lead scare that they are afraid to bathe or shower in the “contaminated” water. They are instead using baby wipes to clean themselves. The wipes are evidently not getting the job done. Because of this lack of basic hygiene, 53 Flint residents, so far, have been infected with Shigellosis, which causes bloody diarrhea, fever and nausea. There are a total of 84 victims of this highly infectious disease throughout the surrounding Genesee County. read more

Podcast – Obama Administration puts the Screws to Small Business – A Third Secret Agreement with Iran is Revealed

Obama’s labor department has decided it cannot wait for Congress to act, so it has enacted a rule to demand all employers, who have federal government contracts or who work on federal property, be forced to provide up to seven paid sick leave days per employee. Whether the employers can afford it is not the government’s problem. It’s part of what they claim is a social compact between government and the people.

It was well publicized that the U.S. paid a large ransom to Iran to release the hostages they snatched in January. It was part of two agreements secretly signed in Geneva, Switzerland. What most don’t know is that was another – a third agreement signed and the details have just recently surfaced. read more

The Clintons Caused the 2008 Collapse

Last night, pitching great and Boston Red Sox hero, Kurt Schilling, was on Fox with Neil Cavuto. As he is running to displace current socialist hack Elizabeth “Fauxahontas” Warren in the Senate in Massachusetts, there was very little baseball discussed, beside the fact that Cavuto is a Yankees fan. Anyone familiar understands that the Red Sox and Yankees are one of America’s greatest sports rivalries. The two teams, and their fans, are not fond of one another.

As Schilling is also a Trump supporter, the discussion centered on the presidential race, the debate, and Hillary Clinton to be precise.

Schilling is plain spoken and not afraid to speak his mind. He said, in effect, that Hillary is the gift that keeps on giving – that it is easy to catch her in a lie because that’s pretty much all she does.

The discussion turned to the economy and Schilling reiterated what Trump had said during the debate regarding Hillary having 30 years to fix the economy, but has apparently waited until now to do anything about it.

Both he and Trump are absolutely right to bring this up. The problem is that Trump doesn’t appear to have a grasp on specifically why. And if he does, he declined to share it with 84 million viewers. read more

Democrats Created Institutional Racism

Oh Colin. Do we have to keep talking about Colin Kapernick, the bench-warming back-up Quarterback of the hapless San Francisco 49ers? I guess it’s this or the most momentous debate in the history of humanity, or any species – terrestrial or otherwise.

As I’m writing this on Monday evening for publication on Tuesday, I really can’t comment on the debate, as it hasn’t happened yet. Short of Hillary collapsing on stage or having some sort of seizure, I don’t predict anything too momentous coming out of it anyway. I will predict that both Hillary and The Donald clearly won the debate, according to CNN (Hillary) and Fox News (Trump). That’s a pretty safe prediction.

Back to Kapernick. According to the American Spectator, we are once again a nation divided along racial lines and Kapernick appears to be the new poster boy for this apparent black-separatist movement. The Spectator cites a poll conducted recently by E-Poll Market Research, which showed that Kapernick was liked “a lot” by only 16 percent of blacks just two years ago, but that it has rocketed to 42%.

Blacks are angry and evidently see him as a beacon, shining a light (but not a white light) on American institutional racism, of which we know there is none. Actually, that’s not entirely true and I’ll get to that in a moment. read more

The Government is touting 4.9% unemployment and the Federal Reserve thinks this is great. So great in fact that they are going to start raising interest rates. But this figure is – surprise, surprise – a lie. Let’s take a look at what it really is.

Want to see what our fabulous healthcare system, Obamacare, will look like soon? Just take a look at the British socialized, single payer system and the latest reports of rationing. This is what we have to look forward to.

A County in the state of Texas is not happy with a gun rights advocate who has written to them complaining about not being to carry his weapon in the county courthouse complex. They’ve evidently decided to make an example of him.

Dangers of the Cashless Economy

from: The American Thinker

Some on the left are proposing the elimination of currency bills larger than $10.  This may seem like an insignificant matter, but if adopted, the proposal would be a giant step in the direction of totalitarianism.

By forcing Americans to use an electronic means of payment, government would gain the power to monitor and manipulate every aspect of one’s finances.  Washington would know what you buy, where and when you buy it, where you travel and eat, and whom you associate with.  Granting government this kind of power is madness unless you’re one of the political elite.  They seem to be lining up in favor of a cashless society. read more

The TPP is the New World Order

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Glenn Beck correctly says that the left, the progressives, have always dreamed of global command and control governance. They first tried it with Woodrow Wilson’s League of Nations, which promptly fell apart. Out of World War II came the United Nations, but over the years it has become discredited and disjointed.

But one thing we know about progressives – they never give up.

Next up for them is the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and its lesser known cousin the US-EU Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). It is estimated that, should it be enacted, the TPP alone will control $27 trillion, or more than 40 percent of the entire world’s GDP.

We all know what the job of Washington lobbyists are. Their entire purpose for being is to purchase favors and loopholes from the government on behalf of the large multi-national corporations they represent. Beck’s team researched TPP and in doing so, they found something astonishing. Over the last eight years of Obama’s reign, lobbyists have taken in $2.6 billion to spread around for their various causes, of which we assume are many. But fully one third of all that money raised has been spent to push pro-TPP interests. Over thirty percent has been consumed by one issue. Wonder why that is?

And why is the TPP such a huge secret? What is in it that they don’t want the public to know – until it’s too late? I’m certain there is plenty – most of which we may never know. Look at the disaster that is Obamacare and what was hidden in its 2,700 pages. The TPP is more than double at 5,544 pages. Oh, and of the 30 chapters of the TPP, only 10 have anything to do with actual trade. That’s odd…for a trade agreement. read more

New Massachusetts Gun Law Results in Massive Uptick in Gun Sales

from Hot Air:

Normally when you see a change in a state’s gun laws it comes in the form of a new, hotly debated bill which is passed by the legislature and then perhaps signed by the governor. Not so in the Bay State, however, where the Attorney General recently widely expanded a ban on so called “assault rifles” with the stroke of a pen. And it’s got consumers flooding their local gun shops in response. (Boston Globe)

“Today is your LAST DAY to purchase a semi-automatic rifle in Massachusetts!” [Mass Firearms School] wrote in an e-mail blast to its customers. read more

Barney Frank Doesn’t Care for the First Amendment Defense Act

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Former longtime Congressman from Massachusetts and liberal Lioness, Barney Fwank, returned to Capital Hill  on Tuesday to testify against passage of the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA).

I won’t bore you with the minutia of the Bill or all the ridiculous and sadly necessary legalese of the FADA, H.R. 2802, but in a nutshell, the very first sentence says it all. “To prevent discriminatory treatment of any person on the basis of views held with respect to marriage.” Is it just me, or can that be the entire Bill? In fact it does say it all. There is no need for the minutia – the details of what type of discrimination may take place.

No person can be discriminated against, which also means no organization, because they are made up of…persons. But still Congress felt the need to fill the page(s) with examples of potential discriminatory actions and findings. After all, they must justify their existence as lawmakers.

Well, needless to say, the left isn’t happy with the prospect of not being able to wantonly attack anyone who chooses not to tow the LGBT line, so they brought out of moth balls a secret weapon – super genius and homosexual, Barney Frank. read more

With All the Restrictions – How was a DNC Staffer Gunned Down in D.C.

By: the Common Constitutionalist

Bloomingdale is a relatively anonymous neighborhood in Washington D.C. It is less than 2 two miles northwest of the capital. Few have ever heard of Bloomingdale – although if you are a “House of Cards” fan, the opening credits of the show feature shots of the D.C. neighborhood.

While it has undergone major rejuvenation, with more government staffers taking up residence, the neighborhood is still predominantly black – 59% according to the 2010 census.

One such D.C. staffer who resided in Bloomingdale was 27 year old Seth Conrad Rich. According to The Political Insider he worked as a “voter expansion data director” at the Democrat National Committee (DNC). Apparently he “worked on computer database to help voters identify and map their individual polling locations.”

Normally I would delve a little more deeply into what a “voter expansion data director” does, because if the DNC was his employer, you could bet what “voter expansion” might entail. But you may have noticed I used a lot of passed-tense words describing Mr. Rich.

This is because Seth is no longer with us. He was killed over the weekend in his own neighborhood of Bloomingdale. read more
