Mexico Thinks Caravan March may be Political – Imagine That

from the Blaze:

Mexican ambassador makes a stunning accusation about migrant caravan from Honduras

The Mexican ambassador to the United States said that they had reason to believe that the migrant caravan from Honduras heading towards the U.S. border was not the result of a grassroots effort, but was “politically motivated.”

“They’re frequently tricked…”

Ambassador Geronimo Gutierrez made the comments to Bret Baier on Fox News in an interview that aired Thursday.

“Mexico also issued a very clear statement saying if somebody is seeking asylum, Mexico is there along now with the U.N. to look at those claims, we want to make sure those claims are legitimate.” read more

Supreme Court to Hear Trump Appeal on Criminal Aliens

from the Daily Caller:

SUPREME COURT WEIGHS TRUMP ADMINISTRATION’S POWER TO DETAIN CRIMINAL IMMIGRANTS

  • The Supreme Court is weighing the federal government’s power to detain migrants after they serve prison sentences.
  • Federal law allows the government to seize criminal migrants “when the alien is released” from custody.
  • Long stretches of time often elapse before the government learns a noncitizen was released from jail, in part due to sanctuary city policies.

The U.S. Supreme Court appeared closely divided Wednesday over the federal government’s power to detain criminal aliens after their release from prison. read more

Progressive Judge Legislates from the Bench

from IBD:

Anti-Trump, Far-Left California Judge Shows Why Judicial Nominations Matter

A federal judge in — where else? — California has ruled that the U.S. can’t send temporary refugees back to their countries because, basically, he doesn’t like President Trump. In doing so, he’s shown why both elections and judicial nominations matter.

Federal Judge Edward M. Chen is a classic President Obama appointee to the bench. A legal leftist from the University of California, Berkeley, his first years in practice were spent as a staff lawyer for the ACLU.

His credentials from then on out remained impeccably progressive, all the way until Obama named him to the federal bench.

This week, Chen ruled that the Trump administration’s decision to return 262,000 people back to Haiti, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Sudan who were here under Temporary Protected Status (TPS) was somehow illegitimate because, in Chen’s opinion, Trump is racist. read more

MS-13 is Back in the News and It’s All Trump’s Fault

The savage immigrant gang, MS-13, is back in the news. I guess they are always in the news, as these animals (h/t: president Trump) never take a break. Let’s just say they’re back in the national news. CNN’s Sunday website homepage featured no less than five stories about the gang.

The gang made the national headlines once again, due to a high profile murder that occurred less than two weeks ago.

We may remember a 16 old girl and her friend were viciously attacked and murdered on Long Island on September 13, 2016. You may also recall that the 16 old victim’s mother Evelyn Rodriguez, was recognized by President Trump during his State of the Union address.

On Friday, September 14, Ms. Rodriguez was struck and killed by an SUV. The driver of the vehicle had been arguing with Evelyn, when he just sped forward, struck and killed her. Congressman Peter King (R-NY) was on his way to meet Evelyn at her daughter’s grave site when he got word of the murder.

And that should be the end of it – a tragic occurrence. Police have the driver in custody and have yet to disclose his ties to MS-13, if any. read more

Podcast – It’s a Social Justice Weekend

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Yes, it’s an all social justice podcast, as I discuss Nike’s decision to promote Colin Kaepernick and his bogus “Stand for Something” platform. I explain that while this may seem like a bad business decision, it really isn’t. Nike understands its target audience, and it isn’t those guys burning their shoes.

In part two of social justice weekend, I discuss the reboot of the `90s television series, Party of Five. But this time around, it’s decidedly NOT all-American. What a surprise, that a Disney channel would promote illegal immigration. read more

I Must Disagree with Mollie’s Dad

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Mollie Tibbetts’s dad, Rob Tibbetts, wrote an Op-Ed for the Des Moines Register this past Saturday. It was heart-felt and obviously written by a Dad who adored his daughter and wishes to shield his family from further pain.

That being said, this may be the most ill-advised article I’ve ever written and will probably land me in some hot water, but I none-the-less feel compelled to write it. So here we go.

Rob Tibbetts writes that, “At the outset, politicians and pundits used Mollie’s death to promote various political agendas. We appealed to them and they graciously stopped. For that, we are grateful. Sadly, others have ignored our request. They have instead chosen to callously distort and corrupt Mollie’s tragic death to advance a cause she vehemently opposed.”

I get that, which is why it’s difficult for me to publically disagree and take issue.

First, there are dirtbags on the right who really are died-in-the-wool white supremacists and racists, and wish everyone who isn’t white to get gone. That’s too bad, but this being a free country, they have every right to their own opinions, no matter how vile. read more

Video Podcast – Apologies to Immigrants – Take a Knee

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Let’s talk about another example of democrat symbolism over substance.

California state legislators passed a resolution demanding that president Trump and Congress apologize for separating families at the border. But would an apology be just a first step to something more?

A federal district court judge, administering the oath of citizenship, tells the new Americans to “take a knee” in protest. Yes, that’s what a citizen wants hear. Welcome to America new citizen. Too bad the country you chose is so awful. read more

A Common Language is Handy When Learning how to Skydive

Say you and your family decide to take a vacation. But instead of the normal touristy destinations, you place your brain in a box and go to Russia, or Pakistan or some other place that isn’t Americanized, or at least not necessarily accommodating of Americans.

You arrive, and right of the bat you realize this is a mistake. You know where you need to get to, but no one speaks English and none of the signage is recognizable.

Then, as luck would have it, something happens – some sort of disaster – an Earthquake or something. And there you are with your family in tow all looking at you for guidance. People are running hither and yon. Police are yelling out instructions, but you can’t understand a word. Pardon the vernacular, but you’re pretty much screwed.

Now imagine something very similar here in the United States. read more

Media Intentionally Lies about ICE

Last night I saw this story aired on my local CBS affiliate. It was presented exactly as the Blaze describes – dishonestly. Never did they mention the reason why this illegal was hauled away.

from the Blaze:

Media ignore key detail in story about ICE arresting father driving pregnant wife to hospital

The mainstream media were aghast on Saturday after Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested an illegal immigrant who was driving to the hospital with his pregnant wife to deliver their baby.

However, most outlets conveniently buried the story’s most important detail: the man was wanted for murder.

What’s the background?

ICE agents apprehended Joel Arrona-Lara last Wednesday at a gas station in San Bernardino, California, while on his way to the hospital. His wife, Maria del Carmen Venegas, was scheduled to deliver their child via caesarean section. read more

Anyone can be an American

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

We are the worst country on the planet. At least we are according to the radicals on the left.

Funny thing about being the worst. When you are the worst, not many will gravitate toward you. If we are truly the worst, most racist, most homophobic, anti-immigrant, misogynist nation, no one with even half a brain would want to come here legally, much less sneak in under threat of arrest and imprisonment.

But the facts don’t support the left’s amplification of outrage. The facts do support that America is the most attractive nation on the planet, as demonstrated by the fact that everyone wants to get in and no one wants to leave. Not even the wacky Hollywood leftists who vowed to do so should Trump get elected. We’re still waiting, by the way.

No other nation is even close. The only reason Europe has had such a large influx of immigration is strictly due to geographic proximity. If the United States was closer to the Middle East and Africa, they would all choose to come here.

The United States is the only place on earth where you can immigrate here, legally, and if you go through the right channels, you can become an American. Not just a citizen, but an American. read more
