New York Times Flip-Flops on Syria

from the Daily Caller:

THE NEW YORK TIMES WAS AGAINST WAR IN SYRIA BEFORE IT WAS FOR IT

What a difference a year can make for The New York Times.

As President Donald Trump announced his decision Wednesday to withdraw the nation’s 2,000 troops from Syria, a bipartisan cadre of opinion-havers attacked him as recklessly abandoning allies in the region and jeopardizing America’s influence over foreign affairs.

One newspaper was particularly harsh: The Times. read more

Song from 1949 Should be Banned, but Misogynistic Rap is Fine

from the Blaze:

Students who say ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’ is ‘suggestive’ are asked if misogynistic rap should be banned. The hypocrisy is glorious.

Cabot Phillips of Campus Reform visited George Mason University in northern Virginia recently to ask students what they thought of the controversy over the classic holiday song, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” — specifically if it’s the right move to ban the tune over lyrics that suggest a man is seducing a woman against her will.

The reactions were mixed. Some woke students were all for banning the song; others believed the dust-up has been overblown. read more

Socialist Sanders Loves his Private Jets

from the Washington Free Beacon:

Bernie Sanders Spends Thousands More on Private Jet Travel

The reelection campaign for Bernie Sanders spent more than $400,000 to travel on private jets during the midterm elections, Federal Election Commission filings show.

The Washington Free Beacon first reported on Sanders’s use of private jets in 2017 after he disclosed a payment of just under $40,000 to Apollo Jets, a New York-based company “dedicated to providing a luxury flight experience.” read more

Democrat Immigration Hypocrisy on Display Yet Again

from the Daily Caller:

FEINSTEIN URGED OBAMA TO USE PRESIDENTIAL POWER TO LIMIT IMMIGRATION: ‘NO LEGISLATION NECESSARY’

  • Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California encouraged then-President Barack Obama to use broad presidential powers to tighten immigration rules in response to a wave of migration from Central America in 2014.
  • In a letter to Obama, Feinstein cited the same statutory authority that President Donald Trump invoked to make illegal border-crossers ineligible for asylum.
  • That authority comes from Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, which allows the president to “impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”

Democratic California Sen. Dianne Feinstein encouraged then-President Barack Obama to use the “very broad power” granted to him by Congress to limit immigration in any way he saw fit, according to a letter obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation. read more

Democrats Come to the Aid of Once Hated Jeff Sessions

The saga of the Jeff Sessions firing is fascinating.

I’ve heard many conservatives say that Sessions should not have been fired. And more so that president Trump should not have been so outwardly hostile to the man for recusing himself from involvement in the dinner theater that is the Mueller investigation.

But what was the president suppose to do? As I understand it, Jeff Sessions gave no indication that he would recuse himself prior to being appointed Attorney General. It was only after he was confirmed, that Sessions dropped that bombshell.

Trump had every right to be angry. Sessions should have told Trump ahead of the appointment so that president could make an informed decision to even nominate him. Trump could then have easily pulled the nomination in favor of someone else.

Now that Trump has pulled the trigger and fired Sessions, the democrats are predictably howling about it. Like Sessions was this great guy. read more

Liberals in Washington State Like Money more than a Carbon Tax

from IBD:

Climate Alarmists Suffer Huge Blow As Liberal Washington State Votes Down Carbon Tax

Environmentalists were hoping to score a huge victory in Washington state with a statewide tax on CO2 emissions. Alas, even liberals in Washington don’t believe climate change is that big a threat.

Before the election, glowing stories in the press talked about Washington “taking up the fight” on climate change after President Donald Trump dropped out of the Paris climate deal. The state would make history. It would be a “bellwether,” and would start a trend across the country.

Carbon Tax

The initiative proposed a $15 tax on each ton of carbon emissions in the state starting in 2020, with the tax rate climbing each year. It would have cost families in the state nearly $1,000 a year by 2035. read more

Hollywood Exposes Its Leftism Again

from Western Journalism:

Producer: My Christian Film Got Rated ‘R.’ It Has No Nudity, Sex, Bad Language, Gore, Drugs.

The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) adds its name to a list of increasingly brazen leftist media powerhouses who discriminate against conservative voices in the public square.

Facebook: Graphic images of a woman smashing and eating a baby do not violate “community standards” but quoting a Bible verse on homosexuality does.

Twitter: Conservative voices and alternative news sources frequently find themselves muzzled while profane rants against them are celebrated. read more

Leftist Politics Clash with the Fitness of the Children

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Liberals are supposed to be all about the children and children’s health. We’re constantly bombarded with ads telling us to get the kids out of the house and get some exercise – run around.

The NFL sponsors a Play60 program, where they encourage children of all ages to get out play football and other physical activities. They even have a program called Fuel Up to Play 60, where they partner with schools.

According to cdc.gov/healthyschools:

“Physical activity is vital for a child’s development and lays the foundation for a healthy and active life. … helping to achieve and maintain a healthy weight… building strong bones and muscles… improving cardiovascular fitness. Children and adolescents should have 60 minutes (1 hour) or more of physical activity daily. Aerobic: Most of the 60 or more minutes a day should be either moderate- or vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity and should include vigorous-intensity physical activity at least 3 days a week.”

School districts across the country understand the importance of physical fitness, for the betterment of the children.

That is until their leftist politics clash with the interests of “the children.” read more
