I’d Rather be Cruzin With Ted Than Randy Over Paul

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Yesterday I posted an article by Conservative Review I entitled “Rand Paul Attacks Ted Cruz.”

I posted it because I think it important, as this presidential primary begins to shake out, to know who the candidates are, who will not only say they will fight for us and the Constitution, but when things heat up, actually will.

“Ted has chosen to make this really personal and chosen to call people dishonest in leadership and call them names, which really goes against the decorum and also against the rules of the Senate, and as a consequence, he can’t get anything done legislatively,” Paul told Fox News Radio. “He is pretty much done for and stifled and it’s really because of personal relationships, or lack of personal relationships, and it is a problem.”

The “decorum” Paul may be referring to is the Thomas Jefferson rule in his Manual of Parliamentary Practice, which states: “No one is to disturb another in his speech by hissing, coughing, spitting, speaking or whispering to another; nor to stand up or interrupt him; nor to pass between the Speaker and the speaking member; nor to go across the [Senate chamber], or to walk up and down it, or to take books or papers from the [clerk’s] table, or write there.”

I love Thomas Jefferson. He, Washington and Madison are my favorite “founders,” but I think it’s time to chuck the rules of decorum.

Voters are tired of the same old crap we get election after election. We receive nothing but hollow promises from these bums. They go to Washington, and either don’t fight, as they said they would, or worse, side with the establishment or the other party. Small wonder Trump is so popular. People like the “everyman” straight talk and verbal fisticuffs. And don’t believe his star is falling as much as pundits tell us. All things in politics, particularly polls, can be manipulated to achieve a desired outcome. read more

Rand Paul Attacks Ted Cruz

from Conservative Review:

Does Rand Paul believe the road to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is paved with endless pandering?

At a time when GOP leaders, led by Mitch McConnell, are engaging in the ultimate betrayal and funding Planned Parenthood and all their butchery, Rand Paul is training his fire on….Ted Cruz!  He lashed out at the senator from Texas, predicting that he’s “done for in the Senate.”  He seemed particularly perturbed by Cruz calling McConnell a liar, even though the senior senator from Kentucky indeed engaged in one of the most verifiable and public acts of lying earlier this year.

Sadly, the negativity Rand is projecting on Cruz for fighting back against the political enemies of our time is precisely why Paul is “done for” in the presidential race. The voters are looking for someone who has no respect for the current system and those who broke it, not someone who is trying to pander to it.  They are looking for not just a pandering vote, but a robust voice.  Rand would be wise to watch Cruz’s epic speech this week, which essentially encapsulates all the frustrations all of us have had with the current political system.  If Rand has a better way forward, it’s clearly lost on everyone.

Cruz Knows Why Boehner is Leaving

Ted Cruz says he knows why John (the town crier) Boehner is retiring. Cruz says Boehner has cut a deal with Nancy Pelosi to fund all Barack Obama big spending plans and then get out of town. Actually, not get out of town, being that he’ll just move over to K-Street, to his cushy lobbyist position where he’ll make millions in first year. He is staying until the end of October to see the despicable scheme through. read more

Our Fiscal and Physical Health Depend upon Illegals Staying Here

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Last week the Fiscal Times posted an article in favor of illegal immigration, or as the left likes to say – undocumented workers, or now – residents. And what is the argument in their favor this time?

Well, they write that, “Back in April, a study of the fiscal implications of illegal immigration may be notable finding that millions of undocumented workers were paying billions of dollars in state and local taxes and that considerably more revenue might be generated if President Obama succeeded in protecting many of them from deportation. The 50 state analysis by the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy found at about 8.1 million of the 11.4 million illegal immigrants who were employed paid in excess of $11.8 billion state and municipal taxes in 2012.”

Did you catch that? That’s right – “might” (or might not) generate more revenue. Not “will” generate more revenue. They tried to sneak that one by us.

Question: How are all those illegal immigrant children that Obama is protecting from deportation “generating” any revenue? I thought we had child labor laws. Another question: The numbers tabulated by the Institute are awfully specific considering no one can give us an accurate accounting of how many illegals are even here. For the past several years the number has remained the same at around 11 million. Maybe they use the same government accounting method that allows the national debt to remain the same for approaching 200 days.

Anyway, the objective of the Fiscal Times exercise was to convince us that illegals are not “freeloaders.” In other words – believe the Fiscal Times, and not the obvious – that they will cost much more than they will ever contribute. read more

Were the Sigma Nu Banners Really That Offensive?

by: the Common Constitutionalist

The Country is up in arms regarding some suggestive signs posted outside an Old Dominion University Fraternity House.

Elisha Fieldstadt at MSNBC writes that, “Crass, sexually suggestive banners ‘welcoming’ freshman women to a Virginia college last week have sparked outrage and led to the suspension of at least one of the school’s fraternities. The white signs draped over the balconies of an off-campus Old Dominion University house read “Rowdy and fun, hope your baby girl is ready for a good time,” “Freshman Daughter Drop Off” and “Go ahead and Drop Off Mom Too.”

“The Sigma Nu chapter at ODU has been suspended while the school investigates the incident,” Brad Beacham, executive director of Sigma Nu’s national headquarters said. “Any fraternity member found to be responsible for this reprehensible display will be held accountable by the fraternity,” he added.

Now, I’m not a college age teen or 20-nothing, and as such, I agree that the signs are tasteless, but I’m also not that old that I don’t remember being that age. And I can pretty much guarantee that the majority of students who saw those signs thought they were both funny and relatively harmless.

But in today’s oversensitive, over-feminized world, we’re not allowed to make light of such a thing. It’s partly because of the hopelessly overblown rape culture on college campuses these days. Yes, there are rapes on college campuses, just as there are rapes in other places. But there is no empirical data to show such an epidemic as being described by college activists. I’m not making light of rape. It’s abhorrent, but these signs don’t say “We intend to rape your daughters.” read more

Podcast – Schindler’s List Producer Fights Back Against Hollywood – LeBron Gives Back to Akron kids – Erick Erickson Receives Hate Mail

In this episode I discuss Schindler’s List producer Gerald Molen, who fights back against 98 Jewish liberal Hollywood heavyweights that support Obama’s ridiculous Iran giveaway.  LeBron James gives back to the city of Akron, Ohio in the form of $87 million for kids to attend the University of Akron free of charge. Why is college so expensive anyway? And I discuss some rather disturbing hate mail Erick Erickson received regarding his decision to disinvite Trump to his RedState gathering. read more

If It’s Hillary or Bust – Dems Will Choose Bust

by: the Common Constitutionalist

Can you feel it? Can you feel the disturbance in the force – the dark side? Yes, the Democrat party is beginning to descend into panic mode. Oh sure, like in the antiperspirant ads, they’re not going to allow us to see them sweat, but the Democrat kingmakers have to be closing in on desperation.

They are running out of time, and as has been said, they have no bench – no one to go to if Hillary falters. From the beginning, it was apparently Hillary Clinton or bust.

Now those on both sides have concluded that Hillary will probably not make it to the finish line. And to this I say, welcome aboard. Not to toot my own horn, but regular readers know I have been predicting the inevitable downfall of Clinton from almost day one.

It’s taken some time and a lot of scandal, and she still may whether this, but I’ll stand by my original assessment and say, she will not be the Democrat candidate.

See, Hillary now has two problems. Originally, it was that she is almost universally disliked. Unlike her husband, who everyone knows is a bag of dirt, but still inexplicably likable, she is the polar opposite of Bill. No one likes Hillary. Sure, she has her loyal supporters and backers, but that doesn’t mean they like her. read more
