The Real Story of Thanksgiving

Every year around this time, most schoolchildren hear the same ol’ Thanksgiving story in their classrooms across the nation. That so-called official story is a heartwarming tale of how the Pilgrims and Native Americans shared a bountiful feast together. But it does not tell the full truth about what really happened on the Plymouth Plantation.

We’re told that the Pilgrims struggled for their survival when they landed in present-day Massachusetts in the 1620’s. Half of the Pilgrims starved to death or went back to England during the first year alone because of harsh winter weather and their lack of proper farming skills. Their chronic food shortages were ultimately resolved when the Native Americans taught the Pilgrims how to plant corn the following spring and together they celebrated their blessings with a huge feast. read more

Many of us who follow politics are either familiar with or have at least heard of Cloward and Piven – Richard Cloward and Francis Fox Piven. They were `60s era radicals dressed up as Columbia University professors. Of course we can probably describe most college professors in the same manner.

The famous, or infamous article describing their plan was originally crafted in the 60’s, and re-released in 2015 on The Nation.com
website as part of “The Nation’s 150th Anniversary Special Issue.”

The article is entitled, “The Weight of the Poor: A Strategy to End Poverty.

The essence of their scheme was/is, “A mass strategy to recruit the poor onto welfare rolls would create a political crisis that could result in legislation that brings an end to poverty.” read more

Nationalism is Good or Bad Depending on Who is In Charge

The true nationalists and patriots were progressives — and environmentalists.” So declared an August 2015 article at the website of Think Progress, founded by the Center for American Progress, citadel of the progressive-liberal left.

Back then, nationalism was good to progressives. Now, with Donald Trump having bothered to weigh in, nationalism is bad to progressives. In fact, it’s downright detestable. It’s Hitlerian. It’s Trumpian-Hitlerian. By golly, it’s yet another Trump “dog whistle,” a not-so-veiled clarion call to fellow xenophobes in his neo-Gestapo movement to start constructing concentration camps for the caravan along the southern border.

The latest example of the left losing it are the histrionics and hysterics denouncing Trump’s newest malevolent ism. The list is ongoing: nationalism, patriotism, populism, sexism, chauvinism, lookism, ageism, white-maleism, vegetarianism. The Donald steadily stirs up a toxic witch’s brew — a dab of fascism, a sprinkle of Nazism, a smattering of racism. Whatever the left can sniff out for its agitprop du jour. read more

Trump is Constitutionally Correct in Ending Birthright Citizenship

The subject of birthright citizenship is once again in the news. President Trump says he intends to sign an Executive order ending the practice. Leftists and faux-constitutional scholars are up in arms. What a shock.

CNN writes that, “Such a step would be regarded as an affront to the US Constitution, which was amended 150 years ago to include the words: ‘All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States.’”

In 2015, then candidate Trump exclaimed his desire to deport all illegal aliens. In rebuttal, Robert Tracinski at The Federalist  argued that deporting birthright citizens would be a direct assault on the Constitution and “the thousand year history of English common law.”

Tracinski explained that at the time of the founding, America embraced birthright citizenship – that “for the Founders, rejecting jus soli or birthright citizenship would have meant either greatly restricting the growth and expansion of the new nation or, more likely, creating a system in which there was a large and growing subpopulation of people who were disenfranchised in the land of their own birth. An idea totally incompatible with a government based on the consent of the governed.” read more

Breitbart News first reported in 2012 that Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s (D-MA) great-great-great grandfather Jonathan Crawford was a member of the Tennessee Militia that rounded up Cherokees living there at the time for the Trail of Tears journey to Oklahoma in the 1830s.

This gives Warren a 1/32, or 3.125 percent, Tennessee Militia heritage, at least double the maximum 1.56 percent, minimum 0.1 percent, Native American heritage Dr. Carlos Bustamante said the evidence in the DNA genotypes purported to come from Warrren’s DNA sample “strongly suggests” in his October 10, 2018 report released by Sen. Warren on Monday. read more

The Left’s Issues are the Same as They Were 44 Years Ago

Okay, maybe they’re not all the same. For instance, one issue is decidedly different. Back in 1974, we weren’t concerned with global warming. Instead, America was caught in the grip of GLOBAL COOLING hysteria. Yes, the next Ice Age was right around the corner.

However, according to today’s leftists, many of the same things they were griping about almost a half a century ago must not have improved much, if at all.

Now how can that be, you may legitimately ask. How, after progressive presidents like Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, George H W Bush, Bill Clinton, the second term of George W Bush and Barack Obama, could the left still be whining about the very same issues? Add to that, a democrat controlled legislature for most of those decades.

Yet they are. And I suppose this is how “old sayings” become established. read more

Leave it to Steven Crowder to set us straight and explain that Columbus wasn’t the genocidal white European manic he’s been made out to be or that the Injuns that he supposed slaughtered weren’t everything we’ve been taught.
