March For Our Lives is a Nothing Burger

Guest Post by John Velisek, USN (ret.):

Saturday was the day of the “March For Our Lives,” which transformed into an all-out anti-gun, anti-2nd amendment and anti-Trump movement. Taking place in cities all across the country and funded by anti-gun left wing organizations, it will become a debacle that did not need to occur.

Ostensibly created by the Parkland school youth, it is now working with adults from leftist organizers like March for Women Live Action Fund, MoveOn.org, The Giffords group, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, and of course Everytown, Bloomberg’s gun confiscation group who have spewed lies since the time of the Parkland shooting.

And who can explain why a meeting was held in Broward County by someone named Debby Miller, who introduced herself as a representative of the Giffords Foundation? I thought this was all put in place by the altruistic students. And why were school funds, a taxpayer resource, used for the printing of itinerary for the March?

Students, with little knowledge and even less understanding, will take to the streets to demand that more action be taken. Ignoring the fact that there are thousands of gun laws already on the books, and those suggested would not have stopped these actions. A School Resource Officer (SRO) could have prevented parkland, or at least mitigated it, but he was under orders to maintain a perimeter and too cowardly to take matters into his own hands and save lives. Maryland had shooting as well. Law enforcement stopped that. There needs to be armed security of some type in our schools. Any school shooting that has a massacre of the kind in the past will have to explain to the parents of those harmed why there was not adequate security. read more

Accidental Weapon Discharge in Class Sounds Like a Setup

Oops!

WOW! Do I smell a set up or what!

The Washington Post reported a few days ago that, “A teacher [Dennis Alexander] who is also a reserve police officer trained in firearm use ‘accidentally’ discharged a gun Tuesday at Seaside High School in Monterey County, Calif., during a class devoted to public safety, school officials said in a statement.”

Folks – this story is just too convenient not to be given closer scrutiny by authorities. It won’t because it’s California, but it should. And in a class specifically “devoted to public safety.” Please. Also, by sheer coincidence, the incident happened one day prior to the national student walkout against everything guns.

“I can’t find the words to say how sorry I am for the incident,” he said at the packed meeting attended by about 100 students who supported Alexander.

“Police have said Alexander was pointing the gun at the ceiling Tuesday to make sure it was not loaded when it discharged inside his classroom at Seaside High School.” The ceiling? And this guy is trained in the proper handling of firearms? Again – please! read more

A Walkout Based on Lies

Guest Post by: John Velisek USN (Ret.)

Thursday was a student walkout of over 3000 schools throughout the country as a way to show deference to the students murdered by a crazed gunman is Parkland Florida. This is a major story as it should be, but the reasons for the walkout mutated to nothing more than another reason to bash the NRA and innocent gun owners throughout the country.

The main premise, which was covered almost 24/7 by most of the progressive mainstream media, focused on the major issues that those in charge see them since the shooting. Guns are bad, assault weapons which are fluid in their definition at best, are worse, and the NRA are boogeymen who must be eradicated in any way possible.

Let’s talk of those really in charge of this whole show of concern and outrage. The Women’s March, Media Matters and ultimately George Soros have combined to organize all this. The teachers union comprised of forced dues-paying members and progressives who use the opportunity to instruct these children in the Marxist traditions that education uses as a base today.

The political indoctrination and propaganda that is being forced on these children today is the same as it has been for the college students that we all have seen in the streets burning and looting because they care more than you do, are more educated than you are, and are in every way, morally superior to those outside of the bubble they have placed themselves inside.

Being a social justice warrior sounds like a high level, morally superior person – someone who can walk on water and dispense truth like Tide Pods to any who will listen – almost a God-like creature who leads the ignorant masses to

the light. These protests are built on the premise “that a child should lead them” – faintly historical, faintly biblical but of a pattern unseen in the roots of religion. read more

Lamb Campaigned as a Republican – When Will Dems Start Attacking Him

from IBD:

So, When Will Democrats Start Brutally Attacking Gun-Loving Conor Lamb?

While viciously attacking Republicans for opposing gun control, Democrats are celebrating the victory of gun-loving Conor Lamb in the Pennsylvania special election. What would those student gun control protestors say if they knew about that?

What has barely been mentioned over the past few weeks, however, is the fact that Lamb ran as a something of a poster boy for the NRA.

One of Lamb’s campaign ads, for example, showed him firing a scary looking assault weapon while the voice over touted his Marine background and said he “still loves to shoot.” read more

Students Should Blame School District for Unsafe Conditions

from Michelle Malkin:

Look homeward, “change agents:” My #nationalwalkoutday message

Here is my homework assignment for all the fist-clenching, gun control-demanding teenagers walking out of classrooms this week (and next week and next month) to protest school shootings:

Ask not what the rest of the country can do for your local school’s safety; ask what your local school boards and superintendents have been failing to do for you.

Chances are, the adults closest to you — those most directly responsible for your security — have been shirking their primary duties, squandering scarce resources and deflecting blame. read more

Weapon Wednesday – New Infantry Sniper Rifle

HECKLER AND KOCH

The U.S. Army has chosen a new rifle designed to allow infantry squads to hit targets at greater ranges. The Heckler and Koch G28 designated marksman rifle will give infantrymen a weapon guaranteed to penetrate enemy body armor at longer ranges than existing M4 carbines. The move is an acknowledgement that the Army could someday fight enemies equipped with advanced body armor, which is part of the Army’s reorientation to the world of conflicts between large powers. read more

Video Podcast – Florida Gun Law Trashes Bill of Rights

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Florida governor Rick Scott signed the school safety bill into law. Let us be frightened. It will allow certain school staff to conceal carry on school grounds and that’s good. The only safe school is a hardened school. However, we need to come up with a “softer” way to describe it – other than “hardened.”

Unfortunately, it also spends recklessly with its arbitrary allotment of $300 million for mental health programs, school resource officers (because they did such a good job last time), and safety upgrades.

The biggest problem with this law is as Glenn Beck recently described it – the law nullifies one Amendment of the Bill of Rights for all persons in Florida under the age of 21. This should never be allowed to stand, under any circumstances.

A Real Second-Amendment City

from Gary Demar at Constitution.com

City With Mandatory Gun Ownership Has One of the Lowest Crime Rates

The anti-Second Amendment crowd is on the warpath again. I live just a few miles from the most pro-gun city in the United States – Kennesaw, Georgia – where gun ownership is mandatory. It’s not the “Wild West” like some people predicted it would be when city officials passed a mandatory gun ownership law.

Eleven years ago, “the city of Kennesaw was selected by Family Circle magazine as one of the nation’s ‘10 best towns for families.’ The award was aimed at identifying the best communities nationally that combine big-city opportunities with suburban charm, a blend of affordable housing, good jobs, top-rated public schools, wide-open spaces, and less stress.” read more

WND Exclusive – Obama’s Culpability in Parkland Massacre

We have to do background checks. We must expand background checks. The people want them; they’re the only thing that works. We’ve heard it all. It’s always the same leftist refrain. More government will solve our problems. Always does – right?

But pandering politicians are demanding the wrong thing. Of course a proper background check will stem the tide of unwanted gun purchases. But expanding an already flawed system will not fix the system. The background check by itself is the not the problem. It is just a stupid computer database. It won’t and can’t do anything until someone tells it to perform a background check. read more

Video Podcast – Four Boxes of Liberty – School Shooting and Arming Teachers

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

I discuss the four boxes of liberty: Soap Box, Ballot Box, Jury Box and Ammo (Cartridge) Box, and why they are just as important as when first uttered by Frederick Douglass and Georgia Congressman Larry McDonald.

The latest legislative proposals after the aftermath of the Florida school shooting and why bad law and ineffective law is actually worse than no law at all.

Arming select teachers and school staff is still the best solution to deter school shootings, and that we never hear of all the schools that have been and are currently arming teachers. read more
