Taylor Swift and Scott Kelly Surrender to the Twitter Mob

from Piers Morgan at The Daily Mail:

Yes – anti-gun liberal, U.K. nut-job Piers Morgan, who I now find I agree with more than less. Funny ole world isn’t it!

There’s only one winner in Taylor Swift and Scott Kelly’s gutless surrender to the howling Twitter mob – President Trump

Oh Taylor.

Why, why, WHY?

Just when I thought you were the only sane celebrity left in this increasingly mad world of frenzied partisan bulls**t, you suddenly decide to go all ‘woke’ on me.

As you once sang: ‘Why would you wanna break a perfectly good heart?’

Of course, we all know the answer.

Taylor Swift, who is hugely popular in middle America, hasn’t chosen this moment to abandon her very sensible apolitical stance and come out as a Democrat because she genuinely thought: ‘Oh, I must alienate half my audience today.’

No, she’s done it because the howling Twitter mob hammered her into submission. read more

WND Exclusive – WHAT PASSES FOR GENIUS AT MOVEON.ORG

It’s hard to tell whether the left is confident or concerned regarding the upcoming midterm elections – but I suppose we can say the same of the right.

For example, my man Sen. Ted Cruz is running for re-election in Texas against Democratic challenger and monumental phony “Beto” O’Rourke. Any reasonable person would think that Cruz will wipe the floor with this guy and beat him by double digits.

And that may happen, but one would never know by the email alerts sent from Cruz’s campaign. The alerts paint a picture of desperation – as if he is down by double digits.

Speaking of email alerts – nice segue, eh – I also receive alerts from the far-left radicals MoveOn.org. I think it’s good to keep a finger on the pulse of Marxists – to really know what they consider important without the media filter.

I’m not sure what to make of this last alert. It’s the first time I’ve seen anything like this from MoveOn. They are always asking for money to push one leftist cause or another, but that’s all they do: beg for money.

Yet this time they’ve stepped up their game by offering a MoveOn spatula. Yes, a spatula: read more

We Were Warned of Murkowski Betrayal and Did Nothing

from Daniel Horowitz at Conservative Review:

Complacent conservatives should learn the Murkowski lesson

If we are so busy “owning the libs” that we ignore the libs festering within our own ranks to the point where “our party” agrees with 90 percent of what the libs want, isn’t it time we focused on cleaning our own house?

The biggest news of the day outside the Kavanaugh cloture vote in the Senate is that one Republican, Lisa Murkowski from the solid red state of Alaska, voted against him. Suddenly, conservative commentators, writers, fund-raisers, and noisemakers are appalled by her behavior and reminiscing about the 2010 primary, when Joe Miller successfully wrestled the GOP nomination away from Murkowski, only to lose to her in a write-in bid for the general election. Some have focused on GOP establishment figures helping Murkowski behind the scenes to win in the general election. But what everyone seems to miss is that there was another challenge in 2016, after six more years of betrayals from Murkowski, including voting for almost all of Obama’s judicial nominees. The fact that so many of these “professional” activists don’t even recall that election is itself problematic. read more

Video Podcast – Kavanaugh Circus a Microcosm of Both Dysfunctional Political Parties

By: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Today I discuss seemingly a number of topics, from the Ford – Kavanaugh debacle, to her specifically, to the Republicans and the democrats, to elections, to who controls government, Trump and Pence and that they’re really all the intertwined

Watching this Senate hearing and the soap opera surrounding it is indeed a microcosm of both dysfunctional political parties and our government as a whole. read more

The Road to Fascism – Democratic Socialism

from Conservative Review:

Rampant anti-Semitism surrounds democratic socialist candidates

As insurgent hard-Left socialists become the face and the “future” of the Democratic Party, their connections to anti-Semitic organizations and attitudes are becoming more apparent.

The latest democratic socialist candidate to have ties to anti-Semitic groups is Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, the Democratic candidate for governor in Florida. Gillum is “pleased and proud” to be endorsed by groups that support the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. One of these groups, Dream Defenders, “supports efforts to abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, and is intertwined with backers of the BDS movement, which has made common cause with the Black Lives Matter movement,” Adam Kredo reported for the Washington Free Beacon. read more

Time to Reintroduce the Ten Tenets of Conservatism

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

It’s been a rather odd year – politically speaking.

Although entirely predictable, the rise of the “Democratic Socialist” has taken many by surprise. And even more surprising to some is they’ve not just won democrat primaries, but dethroned some old dogs and forced the democrat hierarchy to lurch even further left, lest they suffer the same fate.

However, not too long ago, the dems were singing a different tune. In reaction to a 2009 Newsweek cover entitled, “We Are Socialists Now,” Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-N.H.) at a town hall meeting in 2010 exclaimed that, “I don’t think anybody in this country believes in socialism. I don’t know ’em, and I don’t hang out with ’em, but maybe you do.”

Can’t hardly say that anymore, can you Carol. My how things have changed in just eight short years.

But this article isn’t really about the democrats. It’s more about Republicans and what we can do to combat the onset of socialist lunacy. read more

Another Failure of California Government – Voter Registration

from Conservative Tribune:

After Libs Help Them Avoid Audit, California DMV Finds 23,000 Bad Voter Registrations

“Trust us, we’re with the government.” If there were ever a time to be leery of that promise, it’s now … and if there were ever a place, it would almost certainly be in big-government California.

The west coast state — which has gone Democrat in every presidential election since the Reagan era — seems to be a test-bed for leftist policies, but the results of that liberalism ought to be a cautionary tale.

Recently, California became the state with the highest poverty rate in the entire country, while deep blue cities like San Francisco are struggling with rampant homelessness and public health crises. read more

Does Ron DeSantis Really Deserve Such Condemnation?

Have you ever given a speech or even just been talking to someone, and all the sudden become tongue-tied? So much so that you end up mixing two words together or even two phrases? Well, in my opinion, that’s what Republican Florida gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis did, when he uttered the now infamous, “Monkey This Up.” It’s obvious, to me at least, that he combined “monkey around” and “muck this up,” but you be the judge whether or not he is a white nationalist, racist, colonialist, or just a guy who got tongue-tied.

GOP nominee Ron DeSantis said ‘monkey this up’ and the left went berserk. You already know why. read more

Cultural Appropriation is Evidently not Flattering

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

Scroll Down for Audio Version

Unless you are a democrat trying to beat a conservative Republican in a Senate race.

It’s said that “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.” That is, to imitate someone is to pay the person a genuine compliment.

Take for example the modern day British Royal Family and in particular, the lovely Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton – wife of Prince William. Ever since her engagement to Wills, she’s been the envy of England and the Western World.

Her hair, her clothing, shoes and jewelry – everything she wears becomes an instant classic and is sought by her female fan base. It seems not five minutes after she is seen in something new, fashionistas are searching the web for knockoffs. Throngs of women want to look and dress like Kate.

And last I checked, she doesn’t seem the least bit upset by it.

However for many, particularly leftist minorities, such imitation is not considered flattering, but cultural appropriation.

Wikipedia defines cultural appropriation as, “the adoption of elements of a minority culture by members of the dominant culture. It is distinguished from an equal cultural exchange due to an imbalance of power, often as a byproduct of colonialism and oppression.” read more

Vote for Me – Because I’m Hispanic

from the Washington Free Beacon:

Democrats Embrace Identity Politics Roadmap for Victory in Arizona Gov Race

A longtime Democratic operative in Arizona says he is disappointed that David Garcia, the frontrunner in his party’s gubernatorial primary, has embraced a strategy of using his race to court Latino voters in the state.

Mario E. Diaz, who led Democrat Janet Napolitano’s successful campaign to be Arizona’s governor in 2002 and remains a prominent political strategist in the state, says he’s not aligned with any candidate for governor, but thinks Garcia’s aim of using his last name to win over Latino voters is both “insulting” and a “losing strategy.” He says the strategy has been overtly clear.

“This is not a dog whistle, this has been a dog howl,” Diaz said. “They are making the Latino community feel compelled to vote for somebody with the last name Garcia, which to me is an insult to the Latino voter.” read more
