Never a Dull Moment

A woman in her 20’s was found dead in a tent at the Vancouver Occupy campsite of a drug overdose this past Saturday. To his credit, the Mayor Gregor Robertson directed the city manager to clear the park.

Lauren Gill, an organizer at the camp said the girl’s death proves the need for more services for addicts in the city. Who’s a good socialist? That’s always the answer, isn’t it. More government.

Gil described her as “a bright, energetic, beautiful, kind, passionate, artistic youth” and said she’d known her for several years. I thought she was a drug addict?

After the incident reporters began to be roughed up & one cameraman was knocked to the ground.

Sounds just like a Tea Party event.

Washington D.C.
Saturday night saw another incident at the D.C. Occupy event.

Hundreds of Occupiers linked arms to block city streets.

A family of three protesters were hit by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was not charged. The three, however, were ticketed.

According to 2 witnesses, the accident was unavoidable. The family had a different account.

Lt. Christopher Micciche of the D.C. police said the witnesses told police the 3 jumped in front of the vehicle & one apparently leaped onto the hood.

I, for one, would never believe the fuzz. Next weekend I think I’ll take my kids downtown & show them how to jump in front of moving vehicles. It’s those memories that last a lifetime.

Zuccotti Park, New Yory City
Eminent Domain strikes the park campsite. Organizers are ordering individual tents be removed in some areas and replaced with larger community tents. These larger tents will have access restricted to only certain people. That’s discrimination!

After more than a few rapes & sexual assaults have occurred at the site, the folks in charge have decided to raise a female-only tent.

That sparked talks of separate tents for homosexuals, transgenders, married folks, etc. So every group will eventually have their own tent.

Evidently the female tent will be policed by only females.

This does not sound like the all tolerent, all inclusive community I thought it would be (laugh). It’s sounds like forced segregation. It sounds like, dare I say it, the 1%. Walling off good peaceloving people. Telling them they can’t come in here. Mr. Organizer, Tear Down This Wall!

San Diego
Here’s thanks for ya.
The Owners of a pair of Hot Dog vending carts had to close up at their Civic Center Plaza location.
The Occupy protestors gave thanks to the vendors for their generosity in providing free food & coffee. How, you say? By splattering the carts with blood & urine.

The owner of the carts initially gave away food & drinks but apparently could not continue to do so forever. That’s when things got ugly. I guess free food & drink is now a right.

They also stole items & spray painted graffiti on the carts.

The owner of the carts said she may not be able to clean them sufficiently & they may have to be replaced. A good new cart costs in excess of $2000.00, not to mention the 2 operators that are now unemployed.

What’s not to like about this bunch?

Driving Miss Media

Have you heard the term, “Drive by Media”? Rush Limbaugh coined it several years ago.

For those who don’t know it’s meaning, it is a twist on the term “Drive by Shooting”.

The Urban Dictionary accurately defines it as, “Rush Limbaugh’s term for the sensational, scandal-seeking, and agenda-driven coverage that is typical of the national press corps in America. Limbaugh draws an analogy between the media who cover a story with a barrage of unfair cheap shots before moving on to the next flavor of the month and an inner city gang that drives by and sprays a target with gunfire and then moves on to their next target.”

There is no real investigative journalism, no thought to the reporting, other than an overarching agenda.

There is never an apology when things turn out opposite to how things were originally reported; no follow-up.

There is just deafening silence where once was earth-shaking sensationalism.

It’s not that today’s “Journalists” are incapable of real investigation. It must first & only fit their overall worldview. A recent good example was the Herculean effort & hundreds of man-hours spent pouring through former Governor Palin’s emails.

This brings us to one of the latest cases of journalistic malpractice perpetrated by the “Drive Bys”. The liberation & democratization of Libya from the evil Gaddafi regime.

The al-Qaeda flag, which contains the phrase “there is no God but Allah” with a full moon underneath, flies above the new national flag of Libya at the courthouse in Benghazi.

There is no God but Allah

The courthouse in Benghazi is where the “rebels” established their provisional government, and it is where the “media center” for communication with foreign journalists was located during the fight against Gaddafi.
It has been known all along that al-Qaeda was very heavily represented in the army of “the rebels” and among the leadership of “the rebels”. Now, thanks in part to Obama, they have taken over Libya and they intend to impose a brutal form of Sharia law on the entire Libyan population. Please don’t say, “It was NATO, not this administration”. America is NATO.

This is an account from an eyewitness: “It was here at the courthouse in Benghazi where the first spark of the Libyan revolution ignited. It’s the symbolic seat of the revolution; post-Gaddafi Libya’s equivalent of Egypt’s Tahrir Square. And it was here, in the tumultuous months of civil war, that the ragtag rebel forces established their provisional government and primitive, yet effective, media center from which to tell foreign journalists about their ’Fight for freedom’.”

They knew it wasn’t freedom they were fighting for. It was a new theocracy & another piece of the Caliphate puzzle.

According to the UK Telegraph, the leader of the Libyan rebels was very open about the fact that his “troops” included significant numbers of al-Qaeda fighters that were firing bullets at U.S. soldiers in Iraq.

Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, the Libyan rebel leader, has said jihadists who fought against allied troops in Iraq are on the front lines of the battle against Muammar Gaddafi’s regime.

Like Egypt, we were led to believe the Libyan “Rebels” just wanted to take their country back for the betterment of their people. Why were we not told al-Qaeda was part of the Rebel Alliance. I thought al-Qaeda were our enemies. Why would we help them? Gaddafi was a bad dude & I’m sure he received a non-stop flight to the lowest level of hell but, in my book, al-Qaeda is worse. Like Mubarak of Egypt, Gaddafi was contained. These terrorists have no boundaries.

I’m just a schlub with a blog, but even I knew this would happen. I wasn’t sure which terrorist group would seize control, but I knew one of them would fill the vacuum.

Where are the “Drive Bys”, explaining that maybe they should have looked a little deeper and, now on multiple occasions, admit they were wrong & there will no democracy, no freedom.

Don’t hold your breath.

A Couple of News Items

Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. of Illinois, is in favor of hiring all unemployed workers at an average of $40,000/yr. Cost: $600,000,000,000 dollars. That’s for one year. Jackson added, “It could be a 5 year program”. What then? Fire them all, again? He is also in favor of bailing out all the states at a cost of $104 billion. For another $100 billion we could bailout all the cities.
Watch in amazement!
Great plan Jesse. What would these people do? Usually, when you hire someone, you expect him or her to do something for his or her pay. Maybe they could be Obama’s civilian security force.

He also wants this to be done by executive fiat. By the mere sweep of Obama’s decree pen, there will no unemployment.

I’m sure honest Abe would be all in on this idea. After all, Congress has been kind of naughty lately. Not listening to our king and all.

Jesse, Jr. makes his father look intelligent.

Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano recently told a congressional panel she learned of operation “Fast and Furious” only after one of the border agents, Brian Terry, was killed. That was December of 2010.

There’s a slight problem with her testimony. As the video below shows, she was well aware & actually helped launch the original “Operation Gun Runner” program, that morphed into “Fast & Furious”. It’s the same program & she knows it. It does, however, depend on what the definition of “is” is.

The White House press conference was from March 2009. Didn’t Eric Holder say the same thing, that he only recently heard about the operation in the news?

She & Holder are either corrupt as the day is long, or totally incompetent. I vote for both.

It’s Mainstream on Mainstreet

I’ve been writing about the “Occupy” folks & the events leading up to the recent movement a lot lately. Why? Because it is very important to get the truth out, before the truth no longer matters.. Whether one wants to see the reality or ignore it for ideological reasons is an individual choice. We are all free to choose, for now.

As an aside, the more research I do on these events & their “Coordinators”, the more I see, none of this is new nor original. It’s all been done before; even the names are just rehashed.

Oh look, it's SDS (1969)

The first event, several weeks ago (Sept.) known as the Day of Rage isn’t even a new slogan. It was first used in Oct. 1969 in Chicago.

The situation we find ourselves in today is, or will be, much worse than it was in the sixties when all this began. Then, the people in charge of these uprisings were kids. They were very dangerous, but naïve. They were outside the system, so it was difficult for them to get any real traction for their movement. Unbeknownst to most they were being trained & controlled by the Soviets, the Cubans & the revolutionaries out of Quebec, Canada. Yet that support was little known. There was no tolerance for communism in mainstream society then.

Jump to today. Those same sixties radicals & communists are the system. They are government leaders. They run foundations with billions in assets. They are professors at universities all across the country.

I recently wrote of the homegrown terrorists of the sixties. Look at them now. Bernardine Dorhn is a law professor at Northwestern University.

Ayers & Dorhn, just regular folks!

Bill Ayers is a retired professor in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, formerly holding the titles of Distinguished Professor of Education and Senior University Scholar. Now he travels around and speaks on how to reform our education system. These are the unrepentant terrorists we want teaching our children? Really?

For those of you who still think the “Occupy Events” are just made up of independent minded freedom loving folks, I think it’s time to wake up.

I’ve seen many interviews of people who quit their jobs to come & basically make this their new career. None of them appear to be aligned with any particular group or movement. It seems the media has made an effort to find these independents. Evidently the only ones trying to maintain the illusion that this movement is just disparate individuals is the media.

Despite their attempts, the support for this movement is much less concealed than it was 40 or so years ago. Maybe due to the easier access to information; maybe these groups don’t feel the need to hide it. Whatever the reason, what were once thought to be fringe “kook” factions, are now openly supporting the movement.

I preface the following with this: Look at your friends and acquaintances. Almost without exception, you will all be of like, or at least similar mind.

If you feel a need to sympathize or align yourself with this movement, here is the company with which you will be keeping. Remember the old & always true saying, “Birds of a feather, flock together.”

Here is just a partial list of the “Occupy” movement’s supporters, sponsors & cheerleaders:

Communist Party USA, American Nazi Party, Leaders of Iran, Hezbollah, The North Korean government, the communist Chinese government, Hugo Chavez, The Revolutionary Communist Party, The New Black Panthers, Socialist Party USA, CAIR, White Revolution, Marxist Student Union, the Nation of Islam. That is just a partial list.

These are the groups that free & freedom loving Americans want to be connected to? Think about it.

Mid-Season Update

I’ve been commenting on a lot of heady stuff lately, so I thought I would lighten things up with a little midseason NFL update. That and we’ve been rocked with snow, power outages & general mayhem up here in New England. 40 – 50% of the area around where I live has been without power since Saturday night. Tons of fun.

Anyway, to the NFL.

There appears to be a consensus pertaining to Green Bay being the best, not only in the NFC, but the entire league. I agree with that. At this point in the season I don’t know who can challenge them for the top spot. Their defense isn’t as good as last year, but still pretty darn good. It only has to be average due to their potent offense. No one can match them point for point. They just have too many receivers that can burn you. The Vikings got as close as anyone will & I don’t think that will happen again. They could go undefeated if they stay healthy.

That leaves the Steelers, The ‘G’ men (Giants), 49ers (yes, the 49ers), Patriots (HA!), Lions, Ravens, Eagles, maybe even the Bills or the Jets kind of jockeying for second through ninth.

The Steelers have issues as demonstrated this past weekend by only putting up 25 on the worst pass defense in the league. The reports were that Big Ben blistered the Pats for 365 yards. Yes he did, but that didn’t equate to a ton of points. I wasn’t impressed.

I don’t know what Harbaugh is juicing his players with in San Francisco, but I want some. They have bought whatever he’s selling & playing, in my opinion, better than they are. They are blessed, once again, to be in the poorest division in football.

Although the Giants are atop the NFC East, the Eagles are showing signs of real progress. It just may be that it has taken this long for their defense to begin to gel. They may end up winning that division. It all depends on the play of Eli, Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Manning. His lack of consistent play continues to be a problem.

The Lions have been impressive at times, but I’m afraid the league wants to castrate Suh & get him to tow the wussy league line. He’s the driving force on defense, so if he is somehow forced to back off, the rest of their defense will follow.

The Steelers have nothing to fear from the Ravens. Flacco seems to be regressing. He had a good outing last weekend, but that was against the Cards & look what they did in the first have of that game. Run the ball, you idiots!

That leaves the AFC East. The Pats, Jets & Bills. I can’t figure out the Jets. Sanchez seems to have the Eli disease. The next four weeks will determine their season. The Bills twice & the Pats. They must beat the Patriots & have to at least split with the Bills. If not their done.

The Bills have beaten some pretty decent teams & could be for real. They put the beat down on the Redskins. How they fare against the Jets will say a lot. They already have the tie-breaker against the Pats.

The Patriots were awful at Pittsburgh. Every phase of their game was poor. The defense is horrible. They can only hope for some bend-don’t-break games or just poor offensive performances by their opponents. This is on Belichick & he alone. He is trying to be everything. You can’t be Head Coach, GM, coordinator, draft expert, etc. Until he comes to terms with that, they’ll continue to go downhill. If not for Brady, the Pats would struggle to be a .500 team.

The rest of the league is there but doesn’t matter. The Saints may mount a comeback, but I doubt it. The Chiefs, Titans or Raiders could play some sort of spoiler role, knocking someone out of the playoff hunt.

The big question though; will the Colts or Dolphins win the Andrew Luck sweepstakes.

Stupid People Gone Wild

by: Brent Smith at the Common Constitutionalist

The following is a video from Saturday, Oct. 29, showing the peaceful protestors of Occupy Denver just minding their own business. I think I can hear them singing Kumbaya in the background.

All the sudden the jack-booted thugs (police) move in. Someone with a loudspeaker is dropping “F” bombs as freely as a conservative throwing styrofoam out his car window. Must have been an infiltrator from the 1%.

This is the caption from the original Video, “Frank Roper was showing his massive bruise to arriving cops and his foot was ran over by a cop on a motorcycle. He pushed the motorcycle and the cop got off the bike, chased him down and Frank Roper was then arrested.” read more

Rally at the Valley

Looks just like Vally Forge!

With the temperature dropping, the “Occupy Patriots” are stockpiling donated coats, blankets and scarves, trying to secure cots and military-grade tents, and getting survival tips from the homeless people who have joined their encampments.

“Everyone’s been calling it our Valley Forge moment,” said Michael McCarthy, a former Navy medic in Providence. “Everybody thought that George Washington couldn’t possibly survive in the Northeast.” Being that this guy was ex-Navy, I was going to cut him him some slack, but I can’t let this stand.

Really. Your Valley Forge moment? A bigger insult to real patriots, I haven’t heard.

The Real Valley Forge

The following is an exerpt of a letter from George Washington at Valley Forge to N.Y. Governor George Clinton in February, 1778; “For some days past, there has been little less, than a famine in camp. A part of the army has been a week, without any kind of flesh, and the rest for three or four days. Naked and starving as they are, we cannot enough admire the incomparable patience and fidelity of the soldiery.”

General Washington further wrote, “To see the men without clothes to cover their nakedness, without blankets to lie upon, without shoes…without a house or hut to cover them until those could be built, and submitting without a murmur, is a proof of patience and obedience which, in my opinion, can scarcely be paralleled.”

These warriors survived by eating “firecake” (a tasteless mixture of flour and water) day after day. Often, not even that. In some cases they were forced to forage in the woods around camp.

The Continental Army encamped at Valley Forge in the fall of 1777 with about 12,000 men in its ranks. Death from things like typhus, typhoid, dysentery, and pneumonia claimed about a quarter of them before spring arrived from . That’s about 3,000 soldiers!

Meanwhile the “Occupy Patriots” are dining like kings!

Here is an example of an Occupy Wall Street menu:
Salmon cakes with dill sauce
Quinoa salad
Organic chicken
Spaghetti bolognese
Tomato salad with fennel and red onion
Roasted beet and sheep’s milk-cheese salad
Wild heirloom potatoes

Do what you wish. March, protest, bitch & moan of what you know nothing about. Don’t, however, denigrate the memory of real heroes by equating your cushy little gatherings with what was endured at Valley Forge.

Most of you are snivelling pampered hippies who are too stupid to realize you are being used by some very evil people.

Just Don’t Provoke Them

Well, there sure have been plenty of radical Moslem, I mean democratic uprisings in the Middle East & North Africa recently. Here in America, Sharia Law has even begun to infuse itself into our courts. Being that this has all been happening rather quick, I thought it might be a public service to help us understand & accept this new-found way of life. You see, we’re really not so different.

I’ve enlisted the help of my old pal Andrew Klavin. He will assist us in becoming more sensitive to the needs of peace loving Moslems. Enjoy!

Perry the Flatapus

Governor Perry has finally announced his flat tax plan.

CBS news reported yesterday, “The tax plan put forth by Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry would mean a significant reduction in how much money the government takes in.”

Lest we forget, our government (& Universities) are the only entities that can’t do with less.

Perry’s plan is quite simple. It is an opt-in plan which taxpayers can remain in the current system or choose a 20% flat tax. Opting in is something new for Perry. He’s more of an opt-out kinda guy. But I digress.

Obviously lower income people would stand pat while the dirty rich would choose the 20% flat tax.

Ted Gayer

“That would add up to a substantial decrease in revenues”, says Ted Gayer, the co-director of the Economic Studies program and a Senior Fellow at the liberal think tank, Brookings Institution. That’s a shame. Less money for the government to waste.

Perry is maintaining a number of deductions under his flat tax plan, including deductions for home mortgage interest and donations to charity. Not a fan of that. If one is to propose a flat tax plan, why reinvent the wheel? Steve Forbes & Dick Armey had the ideal flat tax. Why not just reintroduce it.

A conservative blogger at RedState writes, “Any static score of its effect on revenues would be disastrous because it keeps all of the low and middle income revenue the same, while drastically diminishing the revenue from higher income earners. Although, the CBO wouldn’t be able to score this as a loss because the entire flat tax is optional.”

I’m stunned at this remark. Commonsense (amazing how uncommon it is) dictates it can not and should not be statically scored. Static scoring assumes the saved money would simply evaporate. That it wouldn’t be reinvested in the economy. That’s the same dopey arguement against lowering the corporate tax rate.

Many of the periphery details of the tax plan are excellent:

A 20% flat corporate tax with credits only for R&D and capital investments.
Corporations would also get a one-time repatriation rate of 5.25%, while moving towards a territorial system in the long-run that will only tax in-country income.
Elimination of Capital Gains, dividends, and death taxes.

Perry also joins some of the other candidates (except Romney) in endorsing an option for private retirement accounts.

All in all I really like the plan. It is bold & simple. I’m a bit suspect that he was merely forced to respond to Cain’s 9-9-9 plan.

Regardless of motive, it’s refreshing to see most of the candidates proposing something other than simply tinkering around the edges of the status quo.

It doesn’t need to be complex to work…..Mitt.

Testing…1, 2, 3

Wednesday, November 9, 2011. For most of us that date holds no particular significance.

It’s a different story if you happen to be in the broadcasting industry. See, the first ever Nationwide test of the EAS (Emergency Alert System) will be carried out on November 9, 2011.

We have all seen or heard these tests from time to time. First you hear that obnoxious tone & then the announcement that, “This is only a test.” Maybe it’s an Amber alert or a weather warning. All important & all necessary.

So how is this any different? Well, these alerts are always done on a local or regional level. All broadcasters are required to participate in real & test alerts.

This is unprecedented. The Federal Government will be taking over all forms of broadcast communications for more than 3 minutes.

Only the President has the authority to activate EAS at the national level, and he has delegated that authority to the Director of FEMA. The test will be conducted jointly by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through FEMA, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS).

It is curiously being done at 2:00 P.M. Eastern Time. If one wanted to test something on such a massive scale, why not do it at 2:00 A.M. so as not to disrupt things and avoid possibly freaking people out?

That is not a rhetorical question. I honestly don’t know.

Here are some other questions to ponder. Should any president (except for Hugo Chavez), particularly this one, have this much authority? The EAS and it’s predecessor the EBS (Emergency Broadcast System) have been around since 1963. Why are they doing this now? Is this just some weird demonstration of the power of the Government?

The FCC states, “In order to minimize disruption and confusion during the EAS test, it is being conducted on November 9 because this date is near the end of hurricane season and before the severe winter weather season begins. The 2 p.m. EST broadcast will minimize disruption during rush hours while ensuring that the test occurs during working hours across the country.” It doesn’t explain why it has to be during working hours.

They go on to state, “A major disaster such as an earthquake or tsunami could require the use of the system to send life-saving information to the public.” Um… no it wouldn’t. We’ve experienced those before. Since when does an earthquake, hurricane or tidal wave require a nationwide simultaneous warning.

There is turmoil throughout the globe. The Middle East is blowing up. Europe is on the verge of a financial meltdown. The “Occupy” events continue to disrupt things here and abroad. Is there something just beyond our visible horizon?

This really bothers me. There are but a few things that would warrant this type of top down control of the airwaves. A nuclear attack, some sort of rapidly moving plague or Martial Law.
