Cities around the country are breaking records. Oh, it’s not for job growth, graduation rates or anything hopeful like that. They’re breaking records for documented homicides and shootings.

It’s gotten so bad that cities like Baltimore, in a desperate and dimwitted attempt to slow the number, have turned to calling for ceasefires. But like every other ceasefire, as those called for on several occasions between Israel and the Palestinian terrorists or those in Syria, the city ceasefires have worked out just about as well.

However pointless warring faction ceasefires are, Baltimore’s was much worse. Between nations or factions, the two sides at least publically feint at agreeing to halt the killing.

Baltimore community leaders had called for a 72 hour ceasefire this past weekend using the hashtag #BaltimoreCeasefire on social media. They received no affirmation of cooperation from anyone. Yet this they hoped would do the trick. Twitter “virtue signaling” always does. And by always, I actually mean never. read more

All Hail the Politically Correct Shopper

The gender-neutral campaign has been gaining momentum lately. Proclaiming yourself male or female will soon be added to the list of seven deadly sins, along with global warming denial and just being a conservative.

And now, is if I needed another reason not to shop at Target, they have bowed to politically correct pressure and have begun “phasing out gender-based signage in some departments.”

And all because two months ago, one woman, some liberal from Ohio, mother of three, Abi Bechtel, tweeted her disgust with a sign in her local Target store’s toy department that simply read: “Building Sets – Girls Building Sets.”

Bechtel posted a photo of the sign on Twitter and captioned it: “don’t do this, @Target.” Oh, she also said the sign was: “regressive and harmful.”

So now the brainiacs at Target stores will go through the trouble to change “gender signage,” all because one silly woman tweeted her dislike. read more

Anti-Cop Sentiment Spreads to Pittsburgh

by: the Common Constitutionalist

It’s become an all-out assault on local police forces across the country. It began in Ferguson and quickly spread from city to city. Violent protests turning to unprovoked attacks on police.

All this cheered on by Al Sharpton and his race hustling traveling roadshow. Then it jumped from black race baiters to progressive white politicians.

We’ve all been witness to the rift between ultra-liberal New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and his unwarranted attacks on his own police force, the NYPD.

No one is denying that there is racism everywhere and that the police are no exception. However, it is a minuscule segment of any force and the same for society in general.

Yet these politicians insist on perpetuating the myth that racism and “race relations” are worse than ever. By some warped logic they must feel that by throwing their own cops under the bus, it will help the problem that they are creating.

And so it is with yet another city and another progressive Mayor. This time in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Some of us have seen the ridiculous picture of the new Pittsburgh Chief of Police, Cameron McLay, photographed holding up a homemade sign on New Year’s Eve that said “I resolve to challenge racism @work,” with the words “# end white silence” underneath. read more
